Otopeni

Otopeni Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Otopeni, Romania. It is currently used mostly for football matches and was the home ground of CS Otopeni. The stadium holds 1,300 people.

The Romanian Air Force 90th Airlift Base "Comandor Aviator Gheorghe Bănciulescu" (Romanian: Baza 90 Transport Aerian) is located at the Henri Coandă International Airport, near Bucharest. The base is currently home to the 901st and 902nd Air Transport squadrons, operating C-130 Hercules, C-27J Spartan, An-26 and An-30 aircraft, as well as the 903rd Transport Helicopter Squadron, operating the IAR-330L and IAR 330M. The 90th Airlift Base is also the home of the Presidential and Government aircraft. The current base commander is Comandor Ion Emil-Florian.In October 2004, the 71st Helicopter Squadron was transferred to the 90th Airlift Base, adding IAR-330 SOCAT to its inventory. The 90th Airlift Base has also MEDEVAC capability. The current commander of the base is Comandor Ion Emil-Florian Tecuceanu.

Băneasa Forest (Pădurea Băneasa in Romanian) is a wood in the north of Bucharest, Romania. Covering 800 hectares (2,000 acres), the ground is located in proximity to Băneasa neighborhood and Băneasa Airport. On its southern edge, there is the Zoo Băneasa zoological garden.

Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport (Romanian: Aeroportul Internațional Henri Coandă București) (IATA: OTP, ICAO: LROP) is Romania's busiest international airport, located in Otopeni, 16.5 km (10.3 mi) north of Bucharest's city centre. It is currently one of the two airports serving the capital of Romania. The other is Aurel Vlaicu Airport. The airport covers 605 hectares (1,495 acres) of land and contains two parallel runways, both 3,500 meters long.The airport is named after Romanian flight pioneer Henri Coandă, builder of Coandă-1910 aircraft and discoverer of the Coandă effect of fluidics. Prior to May 2004, the official name was Bucharest Otopeni International Airport (Romanian: Aeroportul Internațional București Otopeni). Henri Coandă International Airport serves as headquarters for TAROM, the country's national airline. It also serves as a base of operations for low-cost airlines Animawings, Ryanair and Wizz Air and charter airlines Air Bucharest. It is managed by The National Company Bucharest Airports S.A. (Compania Națională Aeroporturi București S.A.). The military section of the airport is used by the 90th Airlift Flotilla of the Romanian Air Force.

TAROM Flight 3107 was a charter flight operated by a Boeing 737-300 that, on 30 December 2007, during the takeoff procedure, hit a service car carrying out repair work on lighting equipment on the runway at Henri Coandă International Airport in Otopeni, Romania.

Zoo Băneasa is a zoo in Bucharest, Romania, located in a northern district of the city, called Băneasa. The park was founded in 1955 as a service of the Municipal Household Section of the People's Council of the Capital. At that time, small livestock were spread in the parks of Cișmigiu, Carol I, and Herăstrău, and in Băneasa Forest. Between 1955 and 1959 there was a progressive concentration of animals in the Băneasa Zoological Corner, where on 1 May 1959 the first visiting season was opened. In 1962, the title of the institution became the Bucharest Zoo and in the same year it was included in the International Yearbook of Zoological Gardens (International Zoo Yearbook, edited by the Society of Zoology from London). The Zoo, with a total area of 5.85 ha (14.5 acres), is a public facility that maintains and exposes live, wild, indigenous, and exotic collections of animals to achieve two main goals: preservation of fauna (with priority to endangered species); and training, education, and recreation of the visitor audience.

Băneasa Shopping City is a shopping center in the north of Bucharest, Romania, opened on 18 April 2008. Located in the Băneasa neighborhood of Sector 1, it is part of the Băneasa Developments owned by convicted criminal [1] Aurel Gabriel Popoviciu and Radu Timofte.Besides the Băneasa Commercial Platform, Băneasa Developments orchestrates a mix of real estate developments, shopping center management and an extensive entertainment unit. Băneasa Shopping City is an extensive commercial and real estate area located in the northern area of Bucharest.

Corbeanca is a commune in the northwestern part of Ilfov County, Muntenia, Romania, on the Cociovaliștea River. It is composed of four villages: Corbeanca, Ostratu, Petrești and Tamași. The commune's name derives from "Corbeanu", the name of a shepherd who settled here. There are several residential neighbourhoods that have been built in Corbeanca since the late 1990s, such as Paradisul verde ("Green Paradise"). Corbeanca is linked to Bucharest's public transport system through regional bus route R441 and R446.

Aurel Vlaicu International Airport (IATA: BBU, ICAO: LRBS) (largely known as Băneasa Airport or Bucharest City Airport) is located in Băneasa district, Bucharest, Romania, 8.5 km (5.3 mi) north of the city center. Named after Aurel Vlaicu, a Romanian engineer, inventor, aeroplane constructor, and early pilot, it was Bucharest's only airport until 1969, when the Otopeni Airport (today Henri Coandă International Airport) was opened to civilian use. Until March 2012, when it was converted into a business airport, Aurel Vlaicu International was the second airport in Romania in terms of air traffic, and Bucharest's low-cost airline hub.
