Kea Monastery

Old Kea (Cornish: Lanndege) is a hamlet in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated on the west bank of the Truro River approximately two miles (3 km) south of Truro.This and the nearby village of Kea are said to have been named after the Saint Kea who arrived at Old Kea from Ireland in the 5th century.The manor of "Landighe" (Landege) is recorded in the Domesday Book (1086) when it was held by Godwin from Robert, Count of Mortain. There was one hide of land and land for 5 ploughs. There were one and half ploughs, 3 serfs, 2 villeins, 4 smallholders, 2 acres of meadow, 3 acres of woodland, one square league of pasture, 2 cattle, 40 sheep and 15 goats. The value of the manor was 10 shillings though it had formerly been worth £1-10s.Only the tower remains of the original parish church which stood at Old Kea. A small mission chapel was built onto the church in 1863 and services are still held twice a month.Old Kea lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

St Anthony Battery is a former 19th century gun battery at St Anthony Head, Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall, England. It was built in 1895-97 and served during both World Wars. Following its decommissioning in 1956, the battery was acquired by the National Trust.

Cargo for Truro was unloaded from ship to barge for transport to the city.Malpas lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The Truro River from the city to the village form part of the Malpas Estuary SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest). It is an important habitat of tidal mudflats, which are feeding grounds for wildfowl and wading birds. The banks of the estuary are also noted for its flora.The Malpas Wassail is a song collected from a group of local singers in 1951. It was included in the Topic Records album Songs of Ceremony and also recorded by the Watersons for their album For Pence and Spicy Ale (and then included in their The Definitive Collection HPO 6004).

Tolverne Cottage, also known as Smugglers Cottage, is a small Grade II-listed cottage in south Cornwall, England. It is situated within the civil parish of Philleigh, on the Roseland Peninsula on the River Fal, between Truro and St Mawes, north of the King Harry Ferry. Made from slatestone rubble, the building probably dates from the 17th century, but was extended in the 19th century. It was designated Grade II listed status on 25 June 1985. The area was used as the assembly point for American troops before the D-Day landings and General Eisenhower stayed at the cottage during preparations for the landing. His chair was amongst memorabilia at the cottage which was auctioned off in 2012. The cottage was also frequented by members of the SS Uganda society while the ship was laid up nearby in the Fal.

The King Harry Ferry Bridge is a vehicular chain ferry which crosses the Carrick Roads reach of the estuary of the River Fal in Cornwall, England, UK. The ferry crosses between the parishes of Feock and Philleigh, roughly halfway between the city of Truro, the lowest bridging point on the estuary, and the town of Falmouth, at the estuary's mouth. The ferry is owned and operated by the King Harry Steam Ferry Company Ltd. The current ferry boat, named No. 7, was built in 2006 and can carry up to 34 cars.

It is in the valley of the River Fal about three miles (5 km) southeast of Truro. The population at the 2021 census was 287. St Michael Penkivel lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Merther and Lamorran are within the parish.

St Clement (Cornish: Klemens) is a civil parish and village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated southeast of Truro in the valley of the Tresillian River. Other notable villages within the parish are the much larger Tresillian 1.4 miles (2.3 km) to the north east of St Clement village itself and another village at Malpas to the south of the parish. The urban part of the parish of St Clement was incorporated into Truro in 1895. The remainder of the parish had a population of 1,064 at the 2011 census.From 2009 to 2021, St Clement was covered by the Ladock, St Clement and St Erme division. From the 2021 local elections, it will be within the Truro Tregolls division. St Clement is attractive for tourists: aside from the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside they come to see the village church and its associated conservation projects that are maintained by members of the local community. Trelissick (Cornish: Trelesyk) is a house and garden in the ownership of the National Trust at Feock, near Truro, Cornwall, England. It is located on the B3289 road, just west of King Harry Ferry, and overlooks the estuary known as Carrick Roads. It lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Almost a third of Cornwall has AONB designation. It receives over 200,000 visitors annually.
