Lödöse (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈlø̂ːˌdøːsɛ]), also known as Gamla Lödöse is a locality situated in Lilla Edet Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It is situated 40 kilometers northeast of Gothenburg and is considered the precursor to modern-day Gothenburg.

Älvängen Church (Swedish: Älvängens kyrka) is a church in Älvängen, Västergötland, Sweden. It belongs to Skepplanda-Hålanda parish in the Diocese of Gothenburg. Älvängens Church is a modern church, built in 1970 by architect T. Hansson and manufactured by Öresjö sektionshus. In 1982 it was extended under Kjell Malmqvist, during which a bell tower was added at the side of the church. The clock in the bell tower was cast at the Bergholtz bell foundry in Sigtuna. The following year the church was reopened. The altarpiece of wood was painted by Harry W. Smith. The textiles in the church were made by Christina Westman in Gothenburg. The original organ, a Grönvalls, was inaugurated in 1977, but it was sold in 1999 and replaced with a digital organ of the brand Ahlbom.

Skepplanda is a locality situated in Ale Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden with 1,803 inhabitants in 2010.Despite the size of the village, it has a swimming facility, a tennis court and a sports centre. Skepplanda has two different schools: Garnvindeskolan (pre-school and grades 1 to 3), Alboskolan (for grades 4 to 6), as well as a daycare centre. The town square, "Albotorget", is the core of Skepplanda. There, one can find a grocery shop, a hairdresser, a pizza place, a library and a café, as well as a clinic. Across from it, there is a parish. Skepplanda has its own church, founded in the 17th century. It is situated on a hilltop overlooking the main part of the village. The area around Skepplanda mainly consists of forests, meadows, some minor farmland and plains. The town itself is in a valley of sorts, which is open to the southwest. The international road E45, which is one of the longest roads in Europe, passes through some kilometres away. When students in Skepplanda finish the middle school at Alboskolan, most of them continue their studies in a town nearby called Älvängen. Älvängen is just ten minutes away by bus, and there are many more stores and boutiques there than in Skepplanda.

Älvängen (earlier Elfängen) is a locality situated in Ale Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 4,196 inhabitants in 2010. It is located some 30 km (19 mi) north of Gothenburg. Among the churches of Älvängen are the Älvängen Church and the Starrkärr Church 4 km (2.5 mi).Älvängen was the hometown of the painter and writer Ivar Arosenius. The football player Pontus Dahlberg was born and raised in Älvängen. The P A Carlmarks rope factory was located to Älvängen. As of 2015, there is a museum in the old factory locals that shows the rope productions in the early beginning of the 20th century. The museum also produced the rope for the East Indiaman Götheborg.

Skepplanda Church (Swedish: Skepplanda kyrka) is a church in Nödinge-Nol, Västergötland, Sweden. It belongs to Skepplanda-Hålanda parish in the Diocese of Gothenburg. The present church building was begun in 1698 and was completed in 1705, partly built on the walls of the original church from the Middle Ages. The medieval church was largely destroyed by two storms in 1635 and 1674. The ceiling paintings, dating from 1770, were painted by Johan Burman. A church tower in the west was built 1753 and a porch to the south was added in 1756. The tower was destroyed in 1863 but rebuilt the following year. The baptismal font dates from the 13th century. The interior style is late baroque; the pulpit, altarpiece and baptismal font are the same age as the church's reconstruction.

Starrkärr Church (Swedish: Starrkärrs kyrka)is a church in Starrkärrs socken, Sweden, situated 4 km (2.5 mi) southeast of Älvängen and 8 km (5.0 mi) northeast of the locality Nödinge-Nol. It is part of the Starrkärr-Kilanda parish in the Diocese of Gothenburg. In the churchyard is also a smaller chapel, mostly used for funerals.

Ahlafors Bryggerier is a Swedish microbrewery located in Ale, Västra Götaland county. The beers can be found in a few restaurants and be bought through the order segment at Systembolaget (Västra Götaland County only). The alcohol by volume (ABV) range from 4.5% to 6.0%. The brewery also produces two kinds of cider: Ahlafors Päroncider (pear cider) and Ahlafors Flädercider (elder cider). The winning beers of the Swedish homebrewing championships between 2002 and 2005 were awarded to make one full-scale brewing at Ahlafors facilities: 2002: Simple stout (a dry stout) 2003: Macka (a Scottish ale) 2004: Kåtisbock (an eisbock) 2005: Russki imponerande stout (an imperial stout)Ahlafors Bryggerier offers guided tours and tastings at the brewery.

Alafors is a town and the seat of the municipality of Ale Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. Today it is considered part of Nödinge-Nol, a northeastern neighborhood. It is located off the E45, about 30 km north of Gothenburg and approximately 1 km from the east bank of the Göta River. In 1970 the town grew up with the railroad town Nol and 1990 with Nödinge, which today form an urban area, Nödinge-Nol. Alafors contains the Ale municipal building, whose facade has enamel artwork by Endre Nemes. There is a high school, park, Ahlafors IF football club which play at Furulundsparken, and a ski slope. A former spinning mill was located here which ceased operations in 1966. Swedish death metal group Eructation was formed in Alafors in 1988.
