Meir Heath Cricket Club

Meir King's Arms Football Club was an association football club based in Stoke-on-Trent, England, established in 1972. Originally formed as the Sunday league team of the King's Arms pub in the Meir district, the club was later based in the neighbouring area of Meir Heath. Meir KA reached the 2nd round of the FA Vase twice.

Meir Heath is a village just to the south of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire situated on a hilltop between Meir and Rough Close, 2+1⁄2 miles from Barlaston and only 5 miles from Stone. The population as taken at the 2011 census can be found under the ward of Fulford, Stoke-on-Trent. It is located in the Borough of Stafford. Meir Heath is said to be the highest conurbation in Staffordshire, due to its altitude it often experiences higher than the locally average snow fall probably attributed to its windy nature and snow drifts, hence the reason for locating the windmill there. The village features a well known public house named The Windmill, the car park of which contains a windmill with a new boat cap, door new windows new beams making it safe to go inside. Meir Heath Cricket Club was formed in 1946 and continues to offer cricket tuition to boys and girls of all ages. The club also features men's and women's teams who continue the club's successful profile.

Barlaston and Rough Close Common is a local nature reserve, an area of heathland in Staffordshire, England, near Barlaston and about 3 miles (4.8 km) north of Stone.

Stone Rural is a civil parish in the Stafford district, in the county of Staffordshire, England. The parish includes the settlements of Aston-By-Stone, Burybank, Cotwalton, Knenhall, Meaford, Moddershall, Oulton, Oulton Grange and Oulton Heath. In 2011 the parish had a population of 1652. The parish touches Barlaston, Chebsey, Fulford, Hilderstone, Marston, Sandon and Burston, Stone, Swynnerton, Whitgreave and Yarnfield and Cold Meece. There are 39 listed buildings in Stone Rural. The council office is in Moddershall.

Lightwood is a suburb of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. It is located to the south of Longton, and Lightwood Road runs from here to Rough Close. The area gives its name to the Lightwood Hoard, a substantial collection of Roman coins discovered buried in the garden of a house on Lightwood Road in 1960.Though containing mostly private housing, the area includes a Methodist chapel constructed in 1816 which is a Grade II listed building.

Moddershall is a small village in the borough of Stafford in the county of Staffordshire, England, part of the civil parish of Stone Rural and ecclesiastical parish of Oulton with Moddershall. Lying to the East of the River Trent, it is roughly halfway between the city of Stoke-on-Trent and the small town of Stone.

Meir railway station served the Meir area of Stoke-on-Trent, England. It was opened in 1894 by the North Staffordshire Railway on its line to Derby and was situated in a cutting to the east of Meir tunnel. The station closed in 1966 with hardly any evidence of its existence left today apart from the footprint of the buildings which are covered in vegetation. The building was of timber construction which had a booking office with cast iron coal burning stove, a waiting room that had benched seating, a small store room for cleaning and bike storage, and a bucket type toilet that was normally emptied by the junior porter in a dug out hole in the small wooded area to the rear of the building. There was a wooden shelter in the middle of the downside platform, and on the eastern end stood the coal shed made of sleepers complete with chute from the bridge for road vehicle delivery.

Normacot is an area of Stoke-on-Trent, in the county of Staffordshire, England. Notable buildings include the church of the Holy Evangelists by Scott.The district used to be served by Normacot railway station, but although the Crewe–Derby line is still open, the station was closed in 1964.

Fulford is a village and civil parish about 5 miles (8 km) north east of Stone, in the Stafford district, in the county of Staffordshire, England. The parish includes the settlements of Crossgate, Leadendale, Meir Heath, Mossgate, Rough Close, Saverley Green, Stallington, Townend and part of Blythe Bridge. In 2011 the built-up area had a population of 650 and the parish had 5,931. The village is on one of the tributaries of the River Blythe. The parish is one of the largest in the Stafford district. The parish touches Forsbrook, Hilderstone, Stone Rural, Barlaston and Draycott in the Moors. Fulford is the highest point in the Stafford district and varies between 650 feet (198 m) and 730 feet (223 m) above sea level.
