Stone Rural

Moddershall is a small village in the borough of Stafford in the county of Staffordshire, England, part of the civil parish of Stone Rural and ecclesiastical parish of Oulton with Moddershall. Lying to the East of the River Trent, it is roughly halfway between the city of Stoke-on-Trent and the small town of Stone.

Meir King's Arms Football Club was an association football club based in Stoke-on-Trent, England, established in 1972. Originally formed as the Sunday league team of the King's Arms pub in the Meir district, the club was later based in the neighbouring area of Meir Heath. Meir KA reached the 2nd round of the FA Vase twice.

Meir Heath Cricket Club is a cricket club and ground in Meir Heath, Staffordshire. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1991, when Staffordshire played Shropshire in the grounds only MCCA Knockout Trophy match. In 1992, it held its first Minor Counties Championship match which saw Staffordshire play Suffolk. The following year, the ground held its second and to date final Minor Counties Championship match, which was between Staffordshire and Lincolnshire.The ground has also held a single Women's One Day International between the Netherlands women and West Indies women in the 1993 Women's Cricket World Cup.In local domestic cricket, Meir Heath Cricket Club use the ground as their home venue.

Barlaston and Rough Close Common is a local nature reserve, an area of heathland in Staffordshire, England, near Barlaston and about 3 miles (4.8 km) north of Stone.

St Mary's Abbey, Oulton is a former Benedictine convent located in the village of Oulton near Stone in Staffordshire, England. The Abbey church is Grade II* listed, and other buildings are Grade II. The Benedictine community was founded in 1624 in Ghent, from a motherhouse established in Brussels in 1598 by Lady Mary Percy. In 1794 as a result of the French Revolution the nuns were forced to flee to England, settling initially in Preston, moving in 1811 to Caverswall Castle, Stoke on Trent.

Meir Heath is a village just to the south of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire situated on a hilltop between Meir and Rough Close, 2+1⁄2 miles from Barlaston and only 5 miles from Stone. The population as taken at the 2011 census can be found under the ward of Fulford, Stoke-on-Trent. It is located in the Borough of Stafford. Meir Heath is said to be the highest conurbation in Staffordshire, due to its altitude it often experiences higher than the locally average snow fall probably attributed to its windy nature and snow drifts, hence the reason for locating the windmill there. The village features a well known public house named The Windmill, the car park of which contains a windmill with a new boat cap, door new windows new beams making it safe to go inside. Meir Heath Cricket Club was formed in 1946 and continues to offer cricket tuition to boys and girls of all ages. The club also features men's and women's teams who continue the club's successful profile.

St Dominic's Priory School is an independent Catholic day school in the town of Stone, Staffordshire, halfway between Stoke-on-Trent and Stafford. The school buildings are set near to the grounds of St Dominic's Convent. The school was founded by the Dominican Sisters and still maintains a close affiliation with the resident community and with St Mary's Nursing Home and the Parish Church of the Immaculate Conception and St Dominic, the centre of an active Catholic community with a resident priest and deacon. It is joined onto this Convent founded by Margaret Hallahan.

Alleyne's Academy (formerly Alleyne's High School) is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status. It is located in Stone, Staffordshire, England, and is one of three schools founded in 1558 by Thomas Alleyne.

Downs Bank, also known as Barlaston Downs, is an area of open countryside, located two miles (3 km) north of the town of Stone in Staffordshire, and four miles (6 km) south of the city of Stoke-on-Trent. It is owned and managed by the National Trust.

Fulford is a village and civil parish about 5 miles (8 km) north east of Stone, in the Stafford district, in the county of Staffordshire, England. The parish includes the settlements of Crossgate, Leadendale, Meir Heath, Mossgate, Rough Close, Saverley Green, Stallington, Townend and part of Blythe Bridge. In 2011 the built-up area had a population of 650 and the parish had 5,931. The village is on one of the tributaries of the River Blythe. The parish is one of the largest in the Stafford district. The parish touches Forsbrook, Hilderstone, Stone Rural, Barlaston and Draycott in the Moors. Fulford is the highest point in the Stafford district and varies between 650 feet (198 m) and 730 feet (223 m) above sea level.
