Meir railway station served the Meir area of Stoke-on-Trent, England. It was opened in 1894 by the North Staffordshire Railway on its line to Derby and was situated in a cutting to the east of Meir tunnel. The station closed in 1966 with hardly any evidence of its existence left today apart from the footprint of the buildings which are covered in vegetation. The building was of timber construction which had a booking office with cast iron coal burning stove, a waiting room that had benched seating, a small store room for cleaning and bike storage, and a bucket type toilet that was normally emptied by the junior porter in a dug out hole in the small wooded area to the rear of the building. There was a wooden shelter in the middle of the downside platform, and on the eastern end stood the coal shed made of sleepers complete with chute from the bridge for road vehicle delivery.

Meir Heath

Meir Heath is a village just to the south of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire situated on a hilltop between Meir and Rough Close, 2+1⁄2 miles from Barlaston and only 5 miles from Stone. The population as taken at the 2011 census can be found under the ward of Fulford, Stoke-on-Trent. It is located in the Borough of Stafford. Meir Heath is said to be the highest conurbation in Staffordshire, due to its altitude it often experiences higher than the locally average snow fall probably attributed to its windy nature and snow drifts, hence the reason for locating the windmill there. The village features a well known public house named The Windmill, the car park of which contains a windmill with a new boat cap, door new windows new beams making it safe to go inside. Meir Heath Cricket Club was formed in 1946 and continues to offer cricket tuition to boys and girls of all ages. The club also features men's and women's teams who continue the club's successful profile.

Normacot is an area of Stoke-on-Trent, in the county of Staffordshire, England. Notable buildings include the church of the Holy Evangelists by Scott.The district used to be served by Normacot railway station, but although the Crewe–Derby line is still open, the station was closed in 1964.
