Little Gidding is a small village and civil parish in Cambridgeshire, England. It lies approximately 9 miles (14 km) northwest of Huntingdon, near Sawtry, within Huntingdonshire, which is a district of Cambridgeshire as well as a historic county. A small parish of 724 acres (293 hectares), Little Gidding recorded a population of 22 in the 1991 British Census. With the neighbouring villages of Great Gidding (where the population was in 2011 included) and Steeple Gidding, the total population was 362 in 2001. The driving distance between Little Gidding and Cambridge, to the southeast, is 30 miles. St John's Church, the Church of England parish church, is a Grade I listed building.Little Gidding was the home of a small Anglican religious community established in 1626 by Nicholas Ferrar, two of his siblings and their extended families. It was founded around strict adherence to Christian worship in accordance with the Book of Common Prayer and the High Church heritage of the Church of England. Charles I visited Little Gidding three times. The community continued for 20 years after Ferrar's death, until after the deaths of his brother and sister in 1657. In the 20th century, the poet T. S. Eliot (1888–1965) was inspired by the legacy of the religious community at Little Gidding. He incorporated historical elements and symbols of it into his long poem, "Little Gidding", as part of his collection Four Quartets (1945).

St Andrew's Church is a redundant Anglican church in the hamlet of Steeple Gidding, about 10 miles (16 km) northwest of Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.

Huntingdon was a rural district in Huntingdonshire from 1894 to 1974, lying to the north and west of urban Huntingdon. It was formed in 1894 under the Local Government Act 1894 from the earlier Huntingdon rural sanitary district. It was expanded in 1935 by taking in most of the disbanded Thrapston Rural District and part of the Huntingdonshire segment of Oundle Rural District. In 1965 Huntingdonshire and the Soke of Peterborough merged to form Huntingdon and Peterborough. In 1974 the district was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972 and became part of the non-metropolitan district of Huntingdon, subsequently renamed Huntingdonshire.

Aversley Wood is a 62.3 hectares (154 acres) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south-west of Sawtry in Cambridgeshire. It is owned and managed by the Woodland Trust.This wood is ash and maple on heavy clay soils, with much of it being ancient and having diverse flora and fauna as a result. Another area, which was probably cultivated until around 1350, has medieval ridge and furrow. It has a number of wild service trees, which are uncommon and an indicator of ancient woodland.There is access from Bullock Road.

The main manor house, still in existence, dates from about 1200. In 1931 the parish had a population of 29. The population at the 2011 Census of Upton and Coppingford was 202.Its name came from Old Norse Kaupmanna = "of the merchants" + Anglo-Saxon ford = "ford".

Upton is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Upton and Coppingford, in the Huntingdonshire district, in the county of Cambridgeshire, England. It is near Coppingford north west of Huntingdon. In 1931 the parish had a population of 109. Upton has a church called St Margaret's Church which is grade II* listed.

In 1931 the parish had a population of 34.Barham has over time been known by various spellings. Bercheham (11th Century) Bercham, Bergham, Berwham, Berewam, Bereuham, Beruham (13th Century) Barram, Barrham (16th Century) Barham (Modern) Barham is around 200 feet above sea level. The church dates from the 12th Century with a modern late Norman doorway.

The hamlet is in Huntingdonshire, which is a non-metropolitan district of Cambridgeshire as well as being a historic county of England. In 1931 the parish had a population of 29.A 12th century church dedicated to St Mary was demolished in 1962 due to dwindling population and the deteriorating fabric of the building.
