New Era Park is a neighborhood in Sacramento, California. Its southern border is the middle of E Street, the American River is its northern border while 29th Street and 16th Street serve as eastern and western borders of the district. The majority of the area of Sutter's Landing Park sits inside the New Era neighborhood. As of 2007, the park contains some pedestrian trails and a skateboard park inside the old recycling plant, but is for the most part unimproved. Eventually the city plans on siting a number of sports fields and multiuse spaces within the park, and will connect it to the American River bicycle and running path to the west once rights-of-way with Blue Diamond and other industrial neighbors can be worked out.

New Helvetia (Spanish: Nueva Helvetia), meaning "New Switzerland", was a 19th-century Alta California settlement and rancho, centered in present-day Sacramento, California.

Boulevard Park is a historic residential neighborhood in Sacramento, California. It is also the Boulevard Park Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Dos Rios is a planned Sacramento RT light rail infill station in Sacramento, California. It will be served by the Blue Line. The staggered platforms are located on North 12th Street between Sunbeam Avenue and Richards Boulevard. The station is being constructed to provide transit to a low-income housing project adjacent to the site, and was partially funded by a grant from the California Strategic Growth Council.

The California Governor's Mansion is the official residence of the governor of California, located in Sacramento, the capital of California. Built in 1877, the estate was purchased by the Californian government in 1903 and has served as the executive residence for 14 governors. The mansion was occupied by governors between 1903–1967 and 2015–2019. Since 1967, the mansion has been managed by California State Parks as the Governor's Mansion State Historic Park.

The 1917 Sacramento Governor's Mansion bombing took place in the middle of the night on December 17, 1917 when 20 sticks of dynamite exploded near the rear porch of the Governor's Mansion just blocks from the Capitol Building.

Alkali Flat/La Valentina station is an at-grade light rail station on the Blue Line of the Sacramento RT Light Rail system operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District. The station is located alongside 12th Street at its intersection with D Street, in the Alkali Flat Historic District, after which the station is named, in the city of Sacramento, California.

The University of Sacramento was a private, Catholic university that opened in 2005 under the sponsorship of the Legion of Christ, an order of Catholic priests. It developed an ethics program in 2006. Dr. Declan Murphy was named the first dean of its College of Business Administration in 2007.The University of Sacramento was part of a global network of universities founded by the Legionaries and their first undergraduate school in the United States. It was the fifteenth university in their network; the other universities are located in Mexico, Italy, Spain, and Chile. The college operated on a temporary campus located in Sacramento, California. In June 2007, the University of Sacramento received a gift 200 acres (0.81 km2) of land in the proposed development called "Cordova Hills", which is an unincorporated area of Sacramento County just east of the former Mather Air Force Base. The university planned to develop the campus and once completed, to have a student body of 5,000 undergraduate and 2,000 graduate students. In May 2009 the college graduated its first class including Associates and bachelor's degrees in varied Business and Human Resources disciplines. Due to funding issues, on July 7, 2011, the university announced that the plans for the University of Sacramento's new campus would be cancelled and the university would close its academic programs effective immediately.

The Cranston–Geary House also known locally as the Bramson Home is a historic home listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house is a Craftsman-style home designed by George Sellon, California's first state architect.The home has been featured on Sacramento Old City Association's home tour and street fair.

The Charles Lais House is a historic home built in 1896, located in Sacramento, California. It is designed in the Queen Anne style. It was commissioned by Charles Lais, an employee of the Southern Pacific Railroad. The third floor was used as a rooming house and the family occupied the house until his death c. 1930. A fire in 1980 destroyed the back end of the house and 50 percent of the roof. It was restored in 1982.

Western Pacific Passenger Depot is a former railway station in Sacramento, California, located at 19th and J Streets. Opened in 1910 by the Western Pacific Railroad as part of the Feather River Route, the station would go on to serve the original California Zephyr until the service was discontinued in 1970. The Old Spaghetti Factory opened in the old building in 1978. The station building was designed by Willis Polk in the Mission Revival style.

The Alkali Flat Historic District is a historic district in Sacramento, California. It is the oldest surviving neighborhood in Sacramento. The older Alkali Flat buildings and homes were built between 1853 and 1869 by the Sacramento's upper class. Alkali Flat borders are: 12th Street, H Street (Government Alley), 7th Street, and Southern Pacific Train tracks to the north.
