Governor's Mansion State Historic Park

The 1917 Sacramento Governor's Mansion bombing took place in the middle of the night on December 17, 1917 when 20 sticks of dynamite exploded near the rear porch of the Governor's Mansion just blocks from the Capitol Building.

The University of Sacramento was a private, Catholic university that opened in 2005 under the sponsorship of the Legion of Christ, an order of Catholic priests. It developed an ethics program in 2006. Dr. Declan Murphy was named the first dean of its College of Business Administration in 2007.The University of Sacramento was part of a global network of universities founded by the Legionaries and their first undergraduate school in the United States. It was the fifteenth university in their network; the other universities are located in Mexico, Italy, Spain, and Chile. The college operated on a temporary campus located in Sacramento, California. In June 2007, the University of Sacramento received a gift 200 acres (0.81 km2) of land in the proposed development called "Cordova Hills", which is an unincorporated area of Sacramento County just east of the former Mather Air Force Base. The university planned to develop the campus and once completed, to have a student body of 5,000 undergraduate and 2,000 graduate students. In May 2009 the college graduated its first class including Associates and bachelor's degrees in varied Business and Human Resources disciplines. Due to funding issues, on July 7, 2011, the university announced that the plans for the University of Sacramento's new campus would be cancelled and the university would close its academic programs effective immediately.

The Maydestone Apartments located in Sacramento, California is a historic four-story, 32-unit apartment building designed in the Mission Revival architectural style and built in 1910. It underwent repair from 2010 to 2011 which restored the building. It currently operates as affordable apartments, offering studio and one-bedroom units. It is located across the street from the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium. A unique feature of the apartments is the pull-out beds tucked beneath raised bathroom floors or kitchen counters.

The Merrium Apartments, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was a historic building located in Downtown Sacramento, California.

The Charles Lais House is a historic home built in 1896, located in Sacramento, California. It is designed in the Queen Anne style. It was commissioned by Charles Lais, an employee of the Southern Pacific Railroad. The third floor was used as a rooming house and the family occupied the house until his death c. 1930. A fire in 1980 destroyed the back end of the house and 50 percent of the roof. It was restored in 1982.

The Sacramento Convention Center Complex is a complex of entertainment venues and a convention center located in downtown Sacramento, California. The complex consists of the SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center (formerly Community Center Theater), the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium, and the Jean Runyon Little Theater.

SacAnime is a semi-annual three day anime convention held at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento, California. The convention is the sister conventions to the Sacramento Comic, Toy and Anime Show (Sac-Con) and Bak-Anime.

New Helvetia (Spanish: Nueva Helvetia), meaning "New Switzerland", was a 19th-century Alta California settlement and rancho, centered in present-day Sacramento, California.

Western Pacific Passenger Depot is a former railway station in Sacramento, California, located at 19th and J Streets. Opened in 1910 by the Western Pacific Railroad as part of the Feather River Route, the station would go on to serve the original California Zephyr until the service was discontinued in 1970. The Old Spaghetti Factory opened in the old building in 1978. The station building was designed by Willis Polk in the Mission Revival style.

12th & I station is an at-grade light rail station on the Blue Line of the Sacramento RT Light Rail system operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District. The station is located alongside 12th Street at its intersection with I Street, after which the station is named, in the city of Sacramento, California. Due to the tracks running in both directions on a one-way thoroughfare (12th Street is one-way southbound), wheelchair users can only access northbound trains from the adjacent curbside platform. The stops are located adjacent to the former Sacramento Union Station, where Sacramento Northern Railroad interchanged with Central California Traction Company interurban services.

Esquire Tower, also known as Esquire Plaza, is a 322-foot (98 m) 248,816 square foot office building in downtown Sacramento, California. The Esquire IMAX Theater as well as a restaurant are located on the ground level of Esquire Plaza.

The Sacramento Union Traction Depot was an interurban union railway station in Sacramento, California. Its building and tracks were situated on a parcel bordered by H, I, 11th and 12th Streets. Opened in 1925, it consolidated operations of several of the area's local electric railways in one location, offering simplified interchanges for passengers. The Depot was built by the predecessors of the Sacramento Northern Railway as well as the Central California Traction Company. Passenger train services ceased 1940, but the building remained in use for freight operations dispatching. The building was largely destroyed in a fire. The Depot opened on September 20, 1925, as the new Sacramento terminal of the Sacramento Northern and the San Francisco–San Francisco Railroad (both later amalgamated under the same corporation). Central California Traction began service here the following March, having previously terminated at the corner of 8th and L Streets. After passenger service ended, a market opened in the station building.
