Kontich (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈkɔntɪx], old spelling: Contich) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises the towns of Kontich proper and Waarloos. In 2021, Kontich had a total population of 21,260. The total area is 23.67 km³.Kontich exists of three parts: Kontich Centrum, Waarloos and Kontich Kazerne. Kontich Kazerne has a big industrial center and a train station on the line between Antwerp and Mechelen. The barracks (kazerne in Dutch) which gave the name to the settlement have closed however. The Centrum part of Kontich has the town center. The E19 highway between Antwerp and Brussels passes through Kontich. "Kontich" comes from the Latin word condacum which means confluence of 2 streams.

Edegem (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈeːdəɣɛm], first mentioned as Buizegem in 1173) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality only comprises the town of Edegem proper. In 2021, Edegem had a total population of 22,244 The total area is 8.65 km². The old Sint-Antoniuskerk (church of Saint Anthony) is no longer open to the public. It is not sure when it was first built (some sources go back as far as the 16th century). The absence of heavy industry makes Edegem a typical commuter town. Despite its location next to the metropolis of the city of Antwerp, Edegem is not fully urbanized.

Hove is a railway station in Hove, just south of the city of Antwerp, Antwerp, Belgium. The station opened in 1888 on the Line 25 and Line 27.

It is a small community, and is said to be one of the most expensive areas in Belgium. Many people pay large sums of money to live there because it is one of the safest places in Belgium. As a consequence Hove ranks 5th on the list of Belgian municipalities by average annual income per capita in 2019.

Mortsel-Oude-God is a railway station in Mortsel, just south of the city of Antwerp, Antwerp, Belgium. The station opened in 1836 on the Line 25. The station is partly in a tunnel, under a car park and road. Originally the station was unplanned and the name was first given to the current Mortsel Liersesteenweg station, located on line 27. However, due to complaints by shop owners and inhabitants of the nearby Statielei, the NMBS built a new station on line 25 that received the name Oude God and the original station was renamed. The current station building is a 1974 design from Dirk Servaes and Johan Beyne.

Waarloos is a village and deelgemeente (sub-municipality) of the municipality of Kontich in the province of Antwerp, Belgium. The village is located about 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) south of the city of Antwerp.

Mortsel (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈmɔrtsəl]) is a city and municipality close to the city of Antwerp located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality only comprises the city of Mortsel proper. In 2021, Mortsel had a total population of 26,170 people. The total area is 7.78 km².

The Craeybeckx tunnel (in Dutch Craeybeckxtunnel and fully Lode Craeybeckxtunnel) is a road tunnel in Antwerp built in 1981 to reduce the noise from the traffic, for the benefit of the Sint-Augustinus hospital and the Middelheim hospital. The tunnel is 1600 m long and is the widest in Belgium. The construction is named after Lode Craeybeckx, the mayor of Antwerp between 1947 and 1976. Approximately 120.000 vehicles pass the tunnel every day.

Mortsel-Deurnesteenweg is a railway station in Mortsel, just south of the city of Antwerp, Antwerp, Belgium. The station opened in 1933 on the Line 25. The station Mortsel is located just 100m east of this station on the line towards Lier. The station is currently only served at weekends and is closed during the week.

The Mad Maiden or The Mad Virgin (Dutch: Het zotte geweld or De dwaze maagd) is a bronze statue by the Belgian artist Rik Wouters, created in 1912. The statue depicts Wouters' wife and muse, Nel Deurinckx, in a dynamic and ecstatic dancing pose. Wouters very often painted, drew and sculpted his wife in charming, everyday settings, while she was sleeping, reading, or doing domestic chores. The Mad Maiden is exceptional because it shows her in such an unusually carefree way. With this sensual sculpture, Wouters clearly distanced himself from the emotionlessness of academic art of his time.Wouters became inspired for this sculpture when he and Nel visited a 1907 performance by the American modern dance pioneer Isadora Duncan in the Muntschouwburg in Brussels.Several copies of the sculpture were made, also after the artist's early death in 1916. The Koninklijke Reet Sportkring (Reet SK) meaning "Royal Reet Sport Society" is a Belgian association football club based in Reet, Rumst in the province of Antwerp. It is currently playing in the third division of the Belgian Provincial leagues third division of the Antwerp province.
