The Cañada del Oro (Spanish for Canyon of Gold), is a primary watershed channel in the valley of Oro Valley, Arizona, US. The word cañada has a tilde (ñ) and is pronounced [kaˈɲaða] in Spanish; in English it is pronounced kə-NYAH-də, not like the country of Canada. The Cañada del Oro originates in the remote Canyon del Oro in the Santa Catalina Mountains north of Tucson, fed by rainfall and melted snow from the northern face of Mount Lemmon and flows northward toward the town of Oracle. The Cañada del Oro is a perennial creek in Canyon del Oro while at higher altitudes. The Cañada del Oro curves from flowing northward to southward through the town of Oro Valley north of Tucson, where it is usually a dry riverbed. In Oro Valley the Cañada del Oro collects watershed from the western face of the Santa Catalina Mountains. The Cañada del Oro ultimately feeds into the Santa Cruz River just northwest of Tucson, the principal watershed channel in the Tucson valley. Historically, the Cañada del Oro was the focus of significant interest in gold mining, beginning with Spanish explorers in the 17th century. As early as 1880, the Cañada del Oro was labeled "Gold Cañon Creek" on American maps. Following the Mexican–American War, American gold-rushers continued the search for the valuable mineral through the 1930s. Prospectors discovered minimal amounts of gold in the Cañada del Oro through placer mining operations, and reportedly mined gold in the lost Mine with the Iron Door. The lost mine is the subject of a novel of the same name written by Harold Bell Wright in 1923.

Mountain View High School in unincorporated Pima County, Arizona is one of the two high schools in the Marana Unified School District. It opened in 1986, ten years after Mesa's high school with the same name. (The two Mountain Views are Arizona's only two district high schools that share a name.)

It flows from east to west across the northern boundary of the City of Tucson from the confluence of Tanque Verde Creek and Pantano Wash to the Santa Cruz River 12.2 miles (19.6 km) away. The Rillito River Park runs along the north and south banks of the river from Interstate 10 to North Craycroft Road.

Accelerated Learning Laboratory is a free public Charter school (a member campus of Accelerated Elementary and Secondary Schools) in Tucson, Arizona, United States. It provides educational services for elementary, middle, and high school students (Pre-K..12). The school is located near the base of Wasson Peak in the foothills of the Tucson Mountains. In 2017, The Washington Post ranked the school the twenty sixth most challenging high school in the United States.

Tortolita was a census-designated place (CDP) in Pima County, Arizona, United States. The population was 3,740 at the 2000 census. Tortolita was situated between the growing incorporated towns of Oro Valley and Marana with most of the area previously part of the CDP having been annexed by the two towns during the 2000s. The remaining parts of the CDP that have not been annexed continue to be unincorporated portions of Pima County. In 1997, the residents of Tortolita voted to incorporate as the Town of Tortolita. However, the 1997 law passed by the Arizona legislature that allowed cities and towns within six miles of other incorporated areas to incorporate without those neighboring cities' consent was overturned on constitutional grounds, and the incorporation was deemed invalid.

Green Fields School is a free public charter school (a member campus of Accelerated Elementary and Secondary Schools) in Tucson, Arizona, United States. It provides educational services for elementary, middle, and high school students (Pre-K..12). Previously Green Fields School was an independent, non-profit school. The school closed briefly filing bankruptcy in July 2019.Green Fields, also known as Green Fields Country Day School, was founded in 1933 as the Circle Double A Green Fields Preparatory School for Boys, a boarding school. It became coed and ceased operating as a boarding school in the 1960s.

The Tucson Open was a golf tournament in Arizona on the PGA Tour from 1945 to 2006, played annually in the winter in Tucson. It was last held at the Omni Tucson National Golf Resort in late February, with a $3 million purse and a $540,000 winner's share.

The Cologuard Classic is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour Champions. It debuted in 2015 at the Catalina Course of Omni Tucson National, in Tucson, Arizona.The Tucson Open was a fixture on the PGA Tour for over six decades, from 1945 through 2006, and was often held at the Catalina Course, which opened in 1961. Tucson hosted the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship for eight years in nearby Marana, from 2007 through 2014.

The White Stallion Ranch, in Picture Rocks, Pima County, Arizona near Tucson, is a historic guest ranch. It is one of only two surviving dude ranches of the Tucson area, where there once were 20 or so. It was founded in 1900 as squatter's cattle ranch. Legal ownership was established via homesteading in 1936, and it was opened as a guest ranch, also known as a dude ranch, in the early 1940s, when it was known as the CB Bar Ranch. Six buildings where guests could stay were built after the property was acquired by Max Zimmerman in 1945, and it became the MZ Bar Ranch. Or it was bought in 1940 by "Chicago liquor store owner Max Zimmerman", who had moved to the area "to become part of the once vibrant guest ranching industry in Tucson."Its 3,000 acres (12 km2) property adjoins the Saguaro National Park's western unit, the Tucson Mountain District, to the south. The MZ Bar Ranch grew a reputation in the film industry, and its vicinity was a filming location for numerous westerns, including The Last Round-Up (1947), Relentless (1948), The Gal Who Took the West (1949), and Winchester 73 (1950). It is a member of the Historic Hotels of America (HHA), a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and was an HHA "Awards of Excellence" winner in 2016.
