Mountain View High School in unincorporated Pima County, Arizona is one of the two high schools in the Marana Unified School District. It opened in 1986, ten years after Mesa's high school with the same name. (The two Mountain Views are Arizona's only two district high schools that share a name.)

Ironwood Ridge High School is a public high school located in Oro Valley, Arizona. Ironwood Ridge is one of three high schools in the Amphitheater Public School District and serves grades 9-12. The school mascot is the nighthawk, and the school colors are navy blue and silver. Ironwood Ridge opened in 2001 and has a student enrollment of 1,942. The school's name originates from the abundance of desert ironwood trees in the area (the campus is also near Ironwood Forest National Monument) and the school's location in the rugged foothills of the Tortolita Mountains. In 2007, Newsweek magazine rated Ironwood Ridge in the top 5% of public schools in the US, one of 12 Arizona schools included on the list. The school's primary and district rival is Canyon del Oro High School, also located in Oro Valley. The school's other rivals are Marana's Mountain View High School and Cienega High School, located southeast of Tucson in Vail.

Dove Mountain is a master-planned community located in Marana, Arizona, about 40 minutes outside of Tucson and in the foothills of the Tortolita Mountains. The area gets its name from the mountain range near which it is located, the Tortolita Mountains. The word tortolita means "little turtle dove" in Spanish, hence Dove Mountain. The community opened in 1998, has about 5,000 homes and encompasses over 6,200 acres (2,500 ha).The community is best known for playing host to the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship at Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. A Ritz-Carlton hotel and resort opened in the community on December 18, 2009, along with a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course. The community, which includes The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain is the largest Ritz-Carlton branded development in the continental United States.Del Webb at Dove Mountain is a 45+ Active Adult community, featuring a variety of single-story home designs to choose from. At the center of the community is the Saguaro Recreation Center, featuring a state-of-the-art fitness center, resort-style pool and spa, and sport courts.[1]

The Tucson Open was a golf tournament in Arizona on the PGA Tour from 1945 to 2006, played annually in the winter in Tucson. It was last held at the Omni Tucson National Golf Resort in late February, with a $3 million purse and a $540,000 winner's share.

The Cologuard Classic is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour Champions. It debuted in 2015 at the Catalina Course of Omni Tucson National, in Tucson, Arizona.The Tucson Open was a fixture on the PGA Tour for over six decades, from 1945 through 2006, and was often held at the Catalina Course, which opened in 1961. Tucson hosted the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship for eight years in nearby Marana, from 2007 through 2014.

KDRI (830 AM, "The Drive") is a radio station in Tucson, Arizona. Owned by Bustos Media, through licensee Bustos Media Holdings, LLC, it broadcasts an oldies format. It is simulcast on FM translator K269FV at 101.7 MHz in Oro Valley. By day, KDRI is powered at 50,000 watts non-directional, the maximum for commercial AM stations. As 830 AM is a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A station WCCO in Minneapolis, KDRI reduces power at night to 1,000 watts, and switches to a directional antenna with a four-tower array. The transmitter is on Sunshine Lane off North Sandra Road in Marana. KDRI is Arizona's only "Primary Entry Point" station to the Emergency Alert System.

The Gallery North Course is ranked #1 in Southern Arizona by Golf Digest and is acknowledged as one of Golfweek's Top 100 Modern Courses. The Gallery South Course opened in December 2003 and was nominated as one of Golf Digest's 100 Best. It is best known for hosting the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, in 2007 and 2008. The Gallery is notable for having the longest par 5 in North America; the ninth hole is measured at a length of 725 yards.

The 2007 WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship was a golf tournament that was played from February 21–25, 2007 over the South Course at The Gallery Golf Club at Dove Mountain in Marana, Arizona. It was the ninth WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship and the first of three World Golf Championships events held in 2007. It was the first time the championship was played at The Gallery, having previously been hosted by the La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California. Henrik Stenson defeated defending champion Geoff Ogilvy 2 and 1 in the 36 hole final to claim his first World Golf Championships title. The total purse was $8,000,000 of which Stenson earned $1,350,000. He also became the first player from Continental Europe to win one of the individual World Golf Championships.

The 2008 WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship was a golf tournament that was played from February 20–24, 2008 over the South Course at The Gallery Golf Club at Dove Mountain in Marana, Arizona. It was the tenth WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship and the first of three World Golf Championships held in 2008. The purse remained at $8,000,000, one of the largest in golf. Tiger Woods won his third WGC Match Play title, and his 15th World Golf Championships event, by beating fellow American Stewart Cink 8 and 7 in the final.

KOHT (98.3 FM) is an urban-leaning rhythmic contemporary station serving Tucson, Arizona, and is licensed to Marana, (a northwestern suburb of Tucson). Casas Adobes (Spanish: "Adobe Houses") is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located in the northern metropolitan area of Tucson, Arizona (in Pima County). The population was 66,795 at the 2010 census. Casas Adobes is situated south and southwest of the town of Oro Valley, and west of the community of Catalina Foothills. The attempted assassination of Representative Gabby Giffords, and the murders of chief judge for the U.S. District Court for Arizona, John Roll, and five other people on January 8, 2011, took place at a Safeway supermarket in Casas Adobes.
