Oßling (German) or Wóslink (Upper Sorbian, pronounced [ˈwʊslʲiŋk]) is a municipality in the district of Bautzen, in Saxony, Germany.

The Jauer is a river of Saxony, Germany. It is a right tributary of the Schwarze Elster, which it joins near Kamenz.

The Dubringer Moor (Upper Sorbian: Dubrjenske bahno, pronounced [ˈdubʁʲɛnskɛ ˈbahnɔ]), is a nature reserve (NSG) in the Bautzen district in northern Saxony. It lies within the three municipalities of Bernsdorf, Hoyerswerda and Wittichenau and covers an area of around 1,711 hectares. It is thus one of the largest nature reserves in Saxony. In addition to areas of forest and grassland the nature reserve also includes several waterbodies (predominantly ponds) and bogs. The bog depression of the Dubringer Moor comprises intermediate and low-moor bogs (including an open, regenerated moorland) and is classified as a percolation bog (Durchströmungsmoor). The area is one of the largest surviving bog complexes in Upper Lusatia.The reserve, which was first designated in 1995, bears the official index number D78. Due to its ecological significance and subsequent designation it has since become part of the Natura 2000 network of protected areas within the EU. In 2011 a slightly smaller and largely coextensive Special Area of Conservation, Dubringer Moor (EU code DE-4550-301) was created. In addition, the nature reserve, expanded by several areas of open country to the east, was designated as a bird reserve (EVG and SPA) also called Dubringer Moor (Code DE-4550-451).

Nebelschütz (German) or Njebjelčicy (Upper Sorbian) is a Sorbian village in the district of Bautzen of Saxony in eastern Germany. It lies to the south-east of Kamenz. The municipality is part of the recognized Sorbian settlement area in Saxony. Upper Sorbian has an official status next to German, all villages bear names in both languages. In 2004, two thirds of the population spoke Sorbian. The town is dominated by the Baroque church of St Martin, which stands on high ground. Whilst mildly impressive from the outside the church is more noted for its magnificent interior. The church has a curious combination of both pulpit and altar, reflecting the Catholic dominance within the Sorbian area.

Klosterwasser (Upper Sorbian: Klóšterska woda, pronounced [ˈklʊʃtɛʁska ˈwɔda]) is a river of Saxony, Germany. It is a right tributary of the Black Elster, which it joins near Wittichenau. The source of the Klosterwasser/Klóšterska woda is located in Burkau/Porchow, Germany, in the Lusatian Highlands (Lausitzer Bergland) near the Czech border.

Delany (Sorbian for "lowland") is the usual name for the low-lying, larger part of the former estate of St. Marienstern Abbey in Panschwitz-Kuckau in German Lusatia. The region is in the centre of Bautzen district along the River Klosterwasser in Upper Lusatia. It lies between the villages of Räckelwitz (Worklecy) to the south and Wittichenau (Kulow) to the north and is part of the heart of the present-day Sorbian language region. Unlike Oberland around Crostwitz and Panschwitz the Niederland has sandier, less fertile soils and a larger proportion of woodland.Other villages in the Niederland are Ralbitz, Rosenthal, Schönau and Sollschwitz. From the 16th to the 19th century, all the aforementioned villages fell within the territory of Marienstern Abbey and are thus still Roman Catholic today.

The Ruhlander Schwarzwasser is a left-hand tributary of the Black Elster in the east German states of Brandenburg and Saxony.

Wittichenau (German) or Kulow (Upper Sorbian, pronounced [ˈkulɔf]) is a bilingual town in the district of Bautzen in the Free State of Saxony, Germany. It is situated on the river Schwarze Elster, 6 km south of Hoyerswerda. This small municipality is situated in the heart of bilingual Lusatia region which was for long centuries part of the Bohemian Crown and was passed to Saxony in 1635. Wittichenau has 6,300 inhabitants of whom the Sorbian-speaking, Slavic Lusatian population compose about 35-40%; the other 60-65% speak German. It is part of the recognized Sorbian settlement area in Saxony.

Oflag IV-D was a World War II German Army prisoner-of-war camp located in Elsterhorst (now Nardt) near Hoyerswerda, then part of Lower Silesia, 44 km (27 mi) north-east of Dresden. It held mostly French, but also Belgian, Polish, Serbian, British and other Allied officers.

Lauta (German) or Łuty (Upper Sorbian, pronounced [ˈwutɨ]) is a town in the district of Bautzen, in Saxony, Germany. It is situated 10 km west of Hoyerswerda, and 10 km southeast of Senftenberg.

Kamenz (Sorbian languages: Kamjenc, pronounced [ˈkamʲɛnts]) was a Kreis (district) in the north-east of Saxony, Germany. Neighboring districts were (from north clockwise) Oberspreewald-Lausitz, Spree-Neiße, Niederschlesischer Oberlausitzkreis, Bautzen - Budyšin, Sächsische Schweiz, the district-free city Dresden - Drježdźany, and the districts Meißen and Riesa-Großenhain. The district-free city Hoyerswerda was surrounded by the district.
