Straßgang

The Plabutsch Tunnel is an approximately 10 km long (east tunnel 9919m, west tunnel 10,085m) road tunnel in Austria which bypasses Graz on its western side.

Seiersberg-Pirka is a municipality with 10,746 residents (as of 1 January 2016), and after Gratwein-Straßengel, the 2nd-largest municipality of Graz-Umgebung District in Styria, Austria. It was created as part of the Styria municipal structural reform, at the end of 2014, by merging the former independent towns Seiersberg und Pirka.

Wetzelsdorf (German: [ˈvεt͡sl̩sˌdɔɐ̯f]) is the 15th city district of Graz, Austria. It is located in the west part of the city between the districts of Eggenberg to the north and Straßgang to the south. About 14,100 people live there in an area of 5.77 km².The district which originally belonged to Eggenberg developed along the Austrian Southern Railway and the Alten Poststraße as a commercial area with working class quarters. After the so-called "Anschluß" in 1938 Wetzelsdorf became part of the city of Graz, as other surrounding areas of the city did as well. There are a number of institutions in the district for example the provincial police center of Styria, a provincial school for gardeners, several churches, several military facilities and a Jewish cemetery. Concerning the traffic connections there is the Wetzelsdorf station of the Graz-Köflacher railway, the city bus lines 31, 33, 62 and 64, and the tram line 7, which ends at the northern border of the district. Directly on the western district border the 555 m high 'Ölberg' hill is situated in a forest area. Below this hill the Pyhrn motorway (A 9) runs along in the Plabutsch tunnel.

Graz-Karlau Prison (German: Justizanstalt Graz-Karlau) is located in Gries, the 5th district of the city of Graz, capital of the Austrian state of Styria. With a capacity of 552 inmates, Graz-Karlau is the third-largest prison in Austria.

Feldkirchen bei Graz (German: [feltˈkɪʁçn̩ baɪ̯ gʁaːt͡s]) is a municipality in the district of Graz-Umgebung in the Austrian state of Styria.

Bezirk Graz-Umgebung (German: [ɡʁaːt͡s umˈɡeːbuŋ], lit. Graz Surroundings) is a district of the state of Styria in Austria. Gries (German: [ɡʁiːs]) is the 5th District of the Austrian city of Graz. It is the location of Graz's red-light district.

FH JOANNEUM is one of the biggest universities of applied sciences (UAS) in Austria. It has about 5,000 students and about 750 employees. The main campus is located in Graz and there are two additional locations in Kapfenberg and Bad Gleichenberg. All three are situated in the province Styria in Austria. FH JOANNEUM offers almost 70 degree programs in a variety of areas including business, technology, design, media, architecture, health and social services. The programmes are practice-oriented, project-based and interdisciplinary.

Swiss International Air Lines Flight 1885 was a scheduled international passenger flight operated by Swiss International Air Lines from Bucharest Airport in Bucharest, Romania, to Zurich Airport in Zurich, Switzerland. On 23 December 2024, the Airbus A220-300 experienced an engine failure at FL400, leading to smoke entering the cabin. An emergency landing was performed at Graz Airport, Austria, and all 79 occupants were evacuated via emergency slides. One crew member was airlifted to a hospital in Graz and died on 30 December 2024, a week after the accident. This was the first fatal accident involving Swiss International Air Lines and the Airbus A220.
