The Cambridge University Botanic Garden is a botanical garden located in Cambridge, England, associated with the university Department of Plant Sciences (formerly Botany School). It lies between Trumpington Road to the west, Bateman Street to the north and Hills Road to the east. The garden covers an area of 16 hectares (40 acres). The site is almost entirely on level ground and in addition to its scientific value, the garden is highly rated by gardening enthusiasts. It holds a plant collection of over 8,000 plant species from all over the world to facilitate teaching and research. The garden was created for the University of Cambridge in 1831 by Professor John Stevens Henslow (Charles Darwin's mentor) and was opened to the public in 1846. The third-highest temperature recorded in the UK, 38.7 °C (101.7 °F), was recorded on 25 July 2019 at the garden.

It was renamed "The Flying Pig" by landlord Mick Clelford in the 1980s as he was a pilot and nicknamed "The Pig".Customers have included Pink Floyd members Syd Barrett and David Gilmour, who met there, and mathematician Michael Guy.In 2008, the local council approved plans to demolish The Flying Pig, but petitions and protests kept the pub open until October 2021, when The Pig permanently closed its doors.

Cambridge War Memorial is a war memorial on Hills Road, Cambridge, outside Cambridge University Botanic Garden. It comprises a bronze statue of a marching soldier by Canadian sculptor Robert Tait McKenzie, known as "The Homecoming" or sometimes "Coming Home", mounted on a heavily carved limestone plinth. It was unveiled in 1922, and became a Grade II listed building in 1996.

St Andrew's College is a mixed private school and sixth form college located over two sites in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England. The school was established in 1976 and was the first independent sixth form college in Cambridge.Today, The majority of the student body at the school consists of international students wishing to study for entrance into a UK university. The Panton Arms is a pub in Cambridge, U.K. that is often frequented by scientists from the Engineering and Chemistry Department of the University of Cambridge. It became more widely known in February 2010 when a group of scientists released the Panton Principles — a set of recommendations on how to license and label scientific data that have been made public — that they had drafted in the Panton Arms starting in June 2009. The pub features a "white gingerbread building festooned with hanging baskets of petunias and nestled among rows of Victorian terraced houses" with black wrought iron gates. The atmosphere, service and the food at the pub have generated mixed reviews from online reviewers. It serves beer and there is adequate parking nearby. One reviewer described how it seemed "hidden in a residential area". It is the remaining corner and former tap room of a larger site, originally occupied by a brewery.

Highsett is a residential estate and a listed heritage site in Cambridge, England. The estate was designed by Eric Lyons (1912-1980) of Eric Lyons & Partners. It was built in three phases between 1959 and 1964. Phase I, named The Quadrant, comprises 31 flats and 6 duplexes; Phase II comprises 17 houses; and Phase III comprises 31 terrace houses.Highsett won the RIBA Award 1966 (for Phase III). It became a Grade II listed building in 1998 under the name Highsett and front retaining wall.
