Cambridge University Botanic Garden

The Sainsbury Laboratory Cambridge University (or SLCU) is located in Cambridge University Botanic Garden. Its aim is to elucidate the regulatory systems underlying plant growth and plant development.

The Panton Arms is a pub in Cambridge, U.K. that is often frequented by scientists from the Engineering and Chemistry Department of the University of Cambridge. It became more widely known in February 2010 when a group of scientists released the Panton Principles — a set of recommendations on how to license and label scientific data that have been made public — that they had drafted in the Panton Arms starting in June 2009. The pub features a "white gingerbread building festooned with hanging baskets of petunias and nestled among rows of Victorian terraced houses" with black wrought iron gates. The atmosphere, service and the food at the pub have generated mixed reviews from online reviewers. It serves beer and there is adequate parking nearby. One reviewer described how it seemed "hidden in a residential area". It is the remaining corner and former tap room of a larger site, originally occupied by a brewery.

The Stephen Perse Foundation is a family of private schools in Cambridge and Saffron Walden for students aged 1 to 18. Cambridge War Memorial is a war memorial on Hills Road, Cambridge, outside Cambridge University Botanic Garden. It comprises a bronze statue of a marching soldier by Canadian sculptor Robert Tait McKenzie, known as "The Homecoming" or sometimes "Coming Home", mounted on a heavily carved limestone plinth. It was unveiled in 1922, and became a Grade II listed building in 1996.

Highsett is a residential estate and a listed heritage site in Cambridge, England. The estate was designed by Eric Lyons (1912-1980) of Eric Lyons & Partners. It was built in three phases between 1959 and 1964. Phase I, named The Quadrant, comprises 31 flats and 6 duplexes; Phase II comprises 17 houses; and Phase III comprises 31 terrace houses.Highsett won the RIBA Award 1966 (for Phase III). It became a Grade II listed building in 1998 under the name Highsett and front retaining wall.

St Paul's, Cambridge is a Church of England parish church situated 0.8 miles (1.3 km) to the south east of the city centre of Cambridge, on the corner of St Paul's Road with Hills Road. St Paul's is part of the Cambridge South Deanery in the Anglican Diocese of Ely. The church is a Grade II Listed Building and has a place in the history of the Gothic Revival due to criticism from the Cambridge Camden Society in the first issue of The Ecclesiologist.Since 2022, the vicar of St Paul's is Imogen Nay.

Mander Portman Woodward is a group of British independent schools, with branches in London, Birmingham and Cambridge, offering GCSE and A-Level courses. The college is an alternative to the traditional school setting. Students at MPW do not wear a uniform, are on first-name terms with their teachers and are taught to take responsibility for themselves and their learning, which is thought to establish the skills they will need for university. The Flying Pig is a public house in Hills Road, Cambridge. It was first recorded as The Engineer in 1844 and then renamed The Crown Inn in 1860. It was renamed "The Flying Pig" by landlord Mick Clelford in the 1980s as he was a pilot and nicknamed "The Pig".Customers have included Pink Floyd members Syd Barrett and David Gilmour, who met there, and mathematician Michael Guy.In 2008, the local council approved plans to demolish The Flying Pig, but petitions and protests kept the pub open until October 2021, when The Pig permanently closed its doors.

The Scott Polar Research Institute (SPRI) is a centre for research into the polar regions and glaciology worldwide. It is a sub-department of the Department of Geography in the University of Cambridge, located on Lensfield Road in the south of Cambridge. SPRI was founded by Frank Debenham in 1920 as the national memorial to Captain Robert Falcon Scott and his companions, who died on their return journey from the South Pole in 1912. It investigates issues relevant to the Arctic and Antarctic in the environmental sciences, social sciences and humanities. The institute is home to the Polar Museum and has some 60 personnel, consisting of academic, library and support staff plus postgraduate students, associates and fellows attached to research programmes. The institute also hosts the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research.
