Badener Höhe

The Herrenwieser Schwallung is a splash dam, built in 1844–47 of bunter sandstone, near Herrenwies in the Black Forest, which impounds the waters of the Schwarzenbach stream into a pond. In the days of timber rafting it was periodically opened and washed the fallen logs or timber rafts downstream into the valley. Today the dam acts as a bridge over the Schwarzenbach.

The Hoher Ochsenkopf ("High Ochsenkopf", literally "High Oxen Peak") is a mountain in the Northern Black Forest in the municipality of Forbach in south Germany. At 1,054.5 m above sea level (NHN) it is the highest point in Forbach and also in the county of Rastatt. The mountain, whose domed summit or kuppe was already a nature reserve lies in the Black Forest National Park which was founded in 2014. Its name (which means "high oxen-peak") recalls its former use as wood pasture.

The Mehliskopf is a mountain, 1,007.8 m above sea level (NHN), on the main chain of the Northern Black Forest in Germany. It lies above the Black Forest High Road, between Sand (junction to Herrenwies and the Schwarzenbach Dam) and Hundseck (junction to Forbach-Hundsbach). On the north flank of the mountain there is ski piste with lifts and an all-year-round bobsleigh run. Nearby is a climbing garden and an adventure playground. There is another piste on the southwestern side of the mountain. Its valley station is on the Black Forest High Road near Hundseck. On the western edge of the summit plateau stands the Mehliskopf Tower (Mehliskopfturm). This 11-metre-high observation tower was built in 1880 by the Black Forest Club and has been renovated several times since. It has a stone plinth with a wooden, covered, observation platform.

The Schwarzwaldhochstraße or Black Forest High Road is the oldest and one of the best known themed drives in Germany. It is a part of the B 500 federal highway and leads over 60 km from Baden-Baden to Freudenstadt.

The Geroldsau Waterfall (German: Geroldsauer Wasserfall) is a roughly six-metre-high waterfall on the Grobbach stream south of the Baden-Baden quarter of Geroldsau in the Northern Black Forest. The Grobbach rises on the rainy western slopes of the northern Black Forest at a height of about 800 m above NN on the Black Forest High Road near Plättig/Bühlerhöhe. It flows northwards and merges before the waterfall with the Harzbach, which, together with its two tributaries, drains the northwestern slopes of the Badener Höhe. At the waterfall the Grobbach has an average flow rate of 0.56 m³/s. It drops here from about 291 m above NHN down to about 285 m. into a small rock bowl. After about a kilometre the V-shaped valley widens into the broad valley bottom of Geroldsau. At its confluence with the Oos in Lichtental the Grobbach is bigger and longer than the Oos.

The Falkenfelsen (Falcon Rock) is a granite rock formation in the Northern Black Forest of Germany's Baden-Württemberg state. One side of the formation is a cliff about 200 feet (61 m) high. From the Schwarzwaldhochstrasse (Black Forest Highway), two hiking trails lead through the formation and end at the shelter Herta-hut. The platform has a view over the northern Black Forest, with the Hornisgrinde in the south, Bühlerhöhe in the northeast and the valley of the Upper Rhine on the west.

The Gertelbach Falls (German: Gertelbachfälle) or Gertelbach Waterfalls (Gertelbach-Wasserfälle), formerly also the Gertelbach Gorge (Gertelbachschlucht), are on the Gertelbach stream in the Bühlertal valley in the Northern Black Forest in Germany. The Gertelbach begins in a spring horizon between the Lower Bunter Sandstone and the Bühlertal Granite, west of the Black Forest High Road, and empties after just 2.5 kilometres into the (smaller) Wiedenbach. The stream thus drops through about 330 metres of height. In the steepest section, about 800 metres before its confluence, the stream drops in cascades for 220 metres over about 15 steps, each of 2 to 6 metres high. The main area of falls in the upper third of the valley step measures 70 metres and ends at a height of over 600 m above NHN.

The Schurmsee is a tarn that lies at a height of 794 metres in the municipality of Forbach in the Northern Black Forest in Germany. It is located on a line between Hundsbach and Schönmünzach. The lake covers an area of 1.6 hectares and is up to 13 metres deep. Its volume is about 180,000 cubic metres. An area of 7.8 hectares, including the tarn and its shore areas, was established as a nature reserve in 1985. Around this reserve, a protected landscape has been declared. The woods on the mountainsides around the lake have also been designated as a Schonwald (protected forest). The lake and its surrounds are a geotope. In addition, the tarn and its environs are a Habitats Directive protected and a bird reserve conforming to the European nature conservation act, Natura 2000. From the 960-metre-high mountain of Schurmseehöhe there is a good view over the whole lake. There is a circular walk around the tarn. The normal route to the Schurmsee runs on a wide forest track from Schönmünzach for a distance of about 4 kilometres and climbing through around 300 metres.

The Hochkopf is a mountain in the county of Rastatt in the Black Forest in Germany with height of 1,038.3 m above sea level (NHN). It is located northeast of the nearby Hornisgrinde, the highest mountain of the Northern Black Forest. About 700 metres away to the north, as part of the same mountain ridge, is the Pfrimmackerkopf (1,035.7 m above NHN). The plateau with its semi-protected forest or Schonwald, is a grinde, an open highland landscape typical of the Northern Black Forest, and is part of the Bühlertal conservation area.

The Brahms House (Brahms-Haus), also known as Lichtental No. 8, is a biographical museum dedicated to Johannes Brahms in Baden-Baden, Germany. The museum is centered on the building's attic, where Brahms lived and worked on his music while in residence.

Lichtenthal Abbey (German: Kloster Lichtenthal) is a Cistercian nunnery in Lichtenthal in the town of Baden-Baden, Germany.

The Sandbach is a river in the districts of Rastatt and Baden-Baden in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. From its source it runs, initially as the Bühlot, northwestwards within the Northern Black Forest, then out onto the Upper Rhine Plain heading north-northeast at first before swinging northwest again to its confluence. Its mouth lies 29.1 kilometres below its source near Iffezheim, where it discharges from the right into the lower reaches of the Acher which are known as the Altrheinzug ("Old Rhine Course").
