Brussels-South railway station (French: Gare de Bruxelles Midi, Dutch: Station Brussel-Zuid, IATA code: ZYR), officially Brussels-South (French: Bruxelles-Midi, Dutch: Brussel-Zuid), is a major railway station in Brussels, Belgium. Geographically, it is located in Saint-Gilles/Sint-Gillis on the border with the adjacent municipality of Anderlecht and just south of the City of Brussels. Brussels-South is one of over a dozen railway stations in Brussels, and one of the three principal rail stations in the heart of the city, the two others being Brussels-Central and Brussels-North. The station, which was a terminus when it was inaugurated in 1869, became a transit station with the opening of the North–South connection in 1952. Nowadays, it is the busiest station in Belgium, and is the only Brussels stop of international high speed rail services: Eurostar, Thalys and ICE. Underneath Brussels-South is the rapid transit Gare du Midi/Zuidstation station on lines 2, 3, 4 and 6 of the Brussels Metro and premetro (underground tram) systems, which serves as an important node of the Brussels Intercommunal Transport Company (STIB/MIVB).

Anderlecht (French: [ɑ̃dɛʁlɛkt], Dutch: [ˈɑndərlɛxt] (listen)) is one of the 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium. Located in the south-western part of the region, it is bordered by the City of Brussels, Forest, Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, and Saint-Gilles, as well as the Flemish municipalities of Dilbeek and Sint-Pieters-Leeuw. In common with all of Brussels' municipalities, it is legally bilingual (French–Dutch). There are several historically and architecturally distinct districts within Anderlecht. As of 1 January 2020, the municipality had a population of around 120,887. The total area is 17.74 km2 (6.85 sq mi), which gives a population density of 6,749/km2 (17,480/sq mi). Its upper area is greener and less densely populated.

The Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (FAMHP) of Belgium is responsible for the approval and registration of new medication in Belgium and for pharmacovigilance. Xavier De Cuyper is General Administrator of the agency. The Dutch name is Federaal Agentschap voor Geneesmiddelen en Gezondheidsproducten (FAGG) and in French it is called Agence Fédérale des Médicaments et des Produits de Santé (AFMPS). The agency succeeded the Directoraat-generaal Geneesmiddelen / Direction Générale des Médicaments of the Federal Public Service Health as the new Competent Authority on 1 January 2007.

The Tour du Midi (French) or Zuidertoren (Dutch), both meaning South Tower, is a 38-storey, 148 m (486 ft) skyscraper constructed between 1962 and 1967 in Brussels, Belgium. The tower is the tallest building in Belgium, and was the tallest in the European Economic Community when it was built until it was surpassed by Tour Montparnasse in Paris in 1972. Tour du Midi stands adjacent to Brussels-South railway station. The building's facade was reclad in 1995-1996 with unitised glass panels using double glass solarbel silver, and it can accommodate about 2,500 office workers. It was built for the Belgian Pensions Administration, which still occupies it today.

Cureghem (French) or Kuregem (Dutch) is a district of Anderlecht, a municipality of Brussels, Belgium. Located in the east of Anderlecht, it is one of this municipality's largest and most populated districts. It developed during the Industrial Revolution along the Brussels–Charleroi Canal and is currently in a fragile social and economic situation due to the decline of its economy and the poor quality of some of its housing.

The Synagogue of Anderlecht is an Orthodox Synagogue in the municipality of Anderlecht, Brussels, Belgium. Located at the heart of the former Jewish quarter of Anderlecht, the synagogue is the main synagogue of the Orthodox Community of Brussels (French: Communauté Israélite Orthodoxe de Bruxelles (CIOB).

Porte de Hal (French) or Hallepoort (Dutch) is a double Brussels metro and premetro (underground tram) station; one station on the southern segment of metro lines 2 and 6 and one premetro station on the North–South Axis. The metro station opened on 2 October 1988 and the premetro station opened on 3 December 1993 (the metro operates one level below the premetro lines). The station is located in the municipality of Saint-Gilles, south of the City of Brussels (Belgium), under the small ring and next to the 14th-century Halle Gate, after which it is named. It is one metro stop away or about 10 minutes' walk from Brussels-South railway station. The station contains several artworks by François Schuiten of metro trains and futuristic cityscapes, including some views of the medieval Halle Gate amongst skyscrapers.

Brasserie-Brouwerij Cantillon ("Brewery Cantillon") is a small Belgian traditional family brewery based in Anderlecht, Brussels. Cantillon was founded in 1900 and brews exclusively lambic beers.

The Municipal Hall (French: Hôtel communal, Dutch: Gemeentehuis) of Anderlecht is the municipal hall building and the seat of that municipality of Brussels, Belgium. Designed by the architect Jules Jacques Van Ysendyck in neo-Flemish Renaissance style, it is located at 1, place du Conseil/Raadsplein in Cureghem. This site is served by Brussels-South railway station, as well as the tram stop Conseil/Raad (on line 81).

The Square de l'Aviation (Dutch: Luchtvaartsquare), meaning "Aviation Square", is a square located in the Brussels municipality of Anderlecht, Belgium. The Centre for Historical Research and Documentation on War and Contemporary Society (Cegesoma or CegeSoma) is located on this square. The Square de l'Aviation is bounded to the east by the Boulevard Poincaré/Poincarélaan and extended, to the west, by the Rue Lambert Crickx/Lambert Crickxstraat on the odd side and the Rue de l'Autonomie/Zelfbestuursstraat on the even side. The angle of the two streets forms a cutaway. This area is served by Brussels-South railway station.

The Lemonnier premetro station is an underground tram station in the City of Brussels, Brussels, Belgium. It is located near the crossroad between the Maurice Lemonnier boulevard and the small ring road. It is part of the North–South Axis tunnel which crosses the city center from the Brussels-North railway station to the Albert premetro station. Additional tunnel exits exist at the Brussels-South railway station as well as at the Lemonnier premetro station, allowing trams to leave or enter the tunnel at those points. Currently, tram routes 51 and 82 enter the tunnel at Lemonnier toward the South. Tram routes 3 and 4 as well as evening routes 31, and 32 also stop at Lemonnier. The station is decorated with paintings by Hamsi Boubeker. On a lower floor there is unused second station with two platforms. In the tunnel between Annessens and Lemonnier there is a tunnel towards this station.

Clemenceau is a Brussels metro station on the southern segment of lines 2 and 6. It is located on Rue Jorez/Jorezstraat, close to Avenue Clemenceau/Clemenceaulaan, in the municipality of Anderlecht, in the western part of Brussels (Belgium). It opened on 18 June 1993 and was the terminus of line 2 until Delacroix opened in 2006. It is named after the nearby avenue, itself named after Georges Clemenceau, a former Prime Minister of France.
