Cwm Clydach National Nature Reserve

The River Clydach is a short, steep and fast-flowing river in Monmouthshire and the county borough of Blaenau Gwent in south Wales. It lies within the Brecon Beacons National Park. It is around 10 kilometres (6 mi) in length. The river rises on the southern slopes of Mynydd Llangatwg (51.8122°N 3.1939°W / 51.8122; -3.1939 (River Clydach, source)) then heads south-east through Clydach Dingle past Brynmawr. It then enters the spectacular Clydach Gorge, dropping about 300 metres (1,000 ft) to Gilwern and its confluence with the River Usk (51.8329°N 3.1007°W / 51.8329; -3.1007 (River Clydach, mouth))."Clydach" is a common name for watercourses in south Wales and is thought to derive from an old Welsh word for "swift" or possibly "stoney", both of which would apply in this case.

Ogof Craig a Ffynnon (Welsh for "Cave [of the] Rock and Spring") is a cave in Wales. The cave is about 7 km in length and is located at the base of a quarried rockface in the Clydach Gorge. Water flowing out of the cave is a resurgence of water draining off Llangatock Mountain above.

Gelli Felen Halt railway station was a station on the London and North Western Railway's Heads of the Valleys line near the settlement of Gellifelin in the Welsh county of Monmouthshire.

Clydach is a village in Monmouthshire, Wales. Its nearest neighbours are the village of Gilwern and town of Abergavenny.

Waenavon railway station, also known as Waen Avon, was a station on the Brynmawr and Blaenavon Railway in South East Wales. To the south of the station a short line served Milfraen Colliery. At an altitude of 1,392 feet (424 m) above sea level, Waenavon was the highest railway station on a standard gauge line in Wales. It was the highest on the London, Midland and Scottish Railway following the closure of Leadhills in 1939.

The Clydach Gorge (also known as Cwm Clydach) is a steep-sided valley in south-east Wales down which the River Clydach flows to the River Usk. It runs for 5.6 kilometres (3.5 mi) from the vicinity of Brynmawr in Blaenau Gwent eastwards and northeastwards to Gilwern in Monmouthshire. The Gorge was one of the first locations in the region to be industrialised though it still retains its natural environment. It has long been an important transport corridor between Abergavenny and the lowlands of Monmouthshire and the northeastern quarter of the South Wales Coalfield. It is now exploited by the A465 Heads of the Valleys trunk road which runs between Abergavenny and Swansea and which serves the Heads of the Valleys sub-region. The Gorge is included within the Brecon Beacons National Park and is a tourist destination in its own right, with facilities including a picnic site, waymarked footpaths, the National Cycle Network and car parking alongside the River Clydach, easily reached from the Heads of the Valleys Road. It includes Smart's Bridge, a cast iron bridge and the remains of a late 18th-century ironworks which are now a Scheduled Ancient Monument. There are also limeworks.

Smart's Bridge, Llanelly, Monmouthshire, is a cast-iron bridge situated in Clydach Gorge. Constructed in 1824, it gave access to the Clydach Ironworks, the most significant industrial enterprise in the gorge. The bridge was designated a Grade II* listed structure in 2000.

Ty Uchaf Farmhouse, Llanelly, Monmouthshire is a farmhouse in the west of the county dating from the early 17th century. Located 0.5km north-west of the Church of St Elli, it is a Grade II* listed building.

Clydach House, Llanelly, Monmouthshire is a house dating from 1693. Constructed as the home for the manager of an ironworks in the nearby Clydach Gorge, it remains a private residence and is a Grade II* listed building.

Garn-yr-Erw railway station served the village of Garn-yr-erw, in the historical county of Monmouthshire, Wales, from 1913 to 1941 on the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway.

Whistle Inn is a halt on the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway heritage railway in Torfaen, Wales. It is situated adjacent to the Whistle Inn, near the village of Garn-yr-erw. The station is the northern terminus of the line and its highest point at 1,307 feet (398 m) above sea level. To the north of the halt, on the other side of the road bridge over the line, was Garn-Yr-Erw Halt on the Brynmawr and Blaenavon Railway.
