Campbell County was a county of the U.S. state of Georgia from 1828 (1828) to 1931 (1931). It was created by the state legislature on December 20, 1828, from land taken from Fayette, Coweta, and Carroll counties, and from the half of DeKalb County which became Fulton County soon afterward. Georgia's Cherokee Land Lottery of 1832 also added to the county. The county was named for Duncan G. Campbell, one of the U.S. commissioners responsible for the Treaty of Indian Springs.The original county seat was Campbellton. When the Atlanta & West Point Railroad began to plan its route, the town's residents said no due to noise concerns, and the tracks were laid through Fairburn instead, which flourished while Campbellton died out, and Fairburn became the county seat in 1870. The Campbell County Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The northwestern half of Campbell (and a bit more of Carroll) became Douglas County in 1870, divided on October 17 at the Chattahoochee River. The remainder of Campbell County was ceded to Fulton County at the end of 1931, along with Milton County, after Campbell County went bankrupt. The legislation creating the merger was enacted on August 9, 1929, with Milton being added to the process in 1931.

Fairburn is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States, with a population of 12,950, according to the 2010 census. Though it has a rich history of its own, the city is now a closely linked suburb of Atlanta, which lies just 17 miles to the north.

Landmark Christian School is a K-12 private Christian school in the Atlanta metropolitan area in Georgia, United States. It has a main campus in Fairburn, serving students in grades K4 through 12, and a satellite campus in Peachtree City, serving grades K4 through 4.

The Campbell County Courthouse in Fairburn, Georgia, also known as the Old Campbell County Courthouse, is a Greek Revival brick building that was built in 1871. It was the courthouse for the defunct Campbell County, Georgia, until it merged into Fulton County in 1932.It is significant in part for being a very late example of 19th-century high classical style in Georgia, as it was built just six years after the American Civil War. During that period there was little construction at all, and continuing construction followed eclectic styles rather than the "purely classical forms" executed in this courthouse's design.: 4–5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Creekside High School is a public high school serving grades nine through twelve. It is located in Fairburn, Georgia, United States. It is a part of the Fulton County School System. The school opened in the fall of 1990 as a result of the merger of Campbell High School in Fairburn, and Palmetto High School in Palmetto. The merger happened as a result of a consolidation plan to reduce the costs of the school system, comply with new state laws mandating minimum attendance numbers for government-funded schools, and upgrade the course offerings of all schools in the county.

Langston Hughes High School (LHHS) is a public secondary school located in Fairburn, Georgia, United States, a suburb of metropolitan Atlanta. LHHS is in South Fulton County adjacent to Renaissance Elementary and Renaissance Middle School.

Stonewall is an unincorporated community in Fulton County, in the U.S. state of Georgia.

Union Station was a shopping mall in Union City, Georgia, in southwest Metro Atlanta adjacent to Interstate 85. Originally "Shannon Mall", it opened in 1980 and initially thrived until the 1990s when growth in neighboring cities drew shoppers away from the mall. After new ownership and renovations in 2006, the name was changed from "Shannon Mall" to "Union Station Mall" in 2006. After many years of decline, the mall closed in November 2010, and demolition began in late October 2014 to make way for a movie studio.

Palmetto is a city located mostly in Fulton County (originally Campbell County) and now partly in Coweta County in the U.S. state of Georgia. The population was 5,071 at the 2020 census.The current mayor is J. Clark Boddie.

Sandy Creek High School (SCHS) is a public high school in Tyrone, Georgia, United States. It is part of the Fayette County School System. Sandy Creek serves Tyrone, northern Fayetteville, and northern portions of Peachtree City. It opened in 1991 with approximately 400 students in order to relieve overcrowding at Fayette County High School and McIntosh High School. During 2021, the school had 1,207 students enrolled in grades 9–12 and was accredited by the Southern Association of High Schools and Colleges.

The City of South Fulton is in Fulton County, Georgia, United States, in the Atlanta metropolitan area. It was incorporated in 2017 from parts of southwest Fulton County and includes the communities of Red Oak, Cooks Crossing, Stonewall, Fife, Ben Hill, Sandtown, Cliftondale, Ono, Cedar Grove, Boat Rock/Dry Pond, Maude, Lester, Enon, Welcome All, Peters Woods, and part of Campbellton. As of 2020, it had a population of 107,436, making it the state's eighth-largest city in population. Also as of 2020, South Fulton has the highest African-American percentage of any U.S. city over 100,000, surpassing highly African-American cities such as Detroit and Jackson.

WBZW (96.7 FM) is an Atlanta radio station broadcasting a Regional Mexican radio format. It is owned by iHeartMedia and is licensed to serve Union City, Georgia. It operates from studios located at the Peachtree Palisades building in the Brookwood Hills district of Atlanta, and the transmitter is located in Tyrone.
