Middlebrook is a historic house located at 4001 Middlebrook Pike in Knoxville, Tennessee. It was constructed circa 1845 by Gideon Morgan Hazen, and is one of the oldest existing frame residences in Knoxville.The house is a typical large estate home. The property also includes a small Gothic Revival spring house. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

WITA (1490 AM, "Inspiration 1490") is a Christian radio station located in Knoxville, Tennessee. It broadcasts a Christian format with some conservative talk shows and news from the USA Radio Network. In the late 1960s into the mid-1970s, WITA was known as WROL, "Real Rock And Roll Radio". It was the only station in Knoxville airing an AOR format, playing album cuts from artists such as the Allman Brothers, Led Zeppelin and the Grateful Dead. The station boasted Knoxville's first female DJ to gain popularity with the University Of Tennessee student population, Leslie Shelor (Leslie Shelor Swann after marriage; also known as "Peggy Swann" to good friends). During this period it was known as "W-149" as a play on its frequency of 1490 kHz. The daytime 1,000-watt signal originated in Fountain City in north Knoxville, but the nighttime 250-watt signal originated at a separate transmitter site which was much closer to campus. In the mid-1970s the station switched format to top 40 as WKVQ (15Q), but found it difficult to compete with more powerful signals like WNOX and WOKI-FM. By the late 1970s the religious format had begun. 2018 Gubernatorial Libertarian candidate Vinnie Vineyard, better known as Funkmaster V from Wrestling With Ghosts, hosted an hour long rock/ comedy program entitled "Cousin Vinnie's Rock N Roll Show" on the station during 1995–1996.

Cumberland Estates is a residential neighborhood in the City of Knoxville, Tennessee, United States, which gained national attention for architectural innovation and research housing in the mid-20th century. It began 2.1 miles outside the city limits, in Knox County, as one of many planned suburban neighborhoods in the post-World War II economic expansion. The development soon attracted an innovative young architect and national sponsors who would create new ways to rapidly and affordably fill the demand for residential housing needs for America’s growing population of families. Their prominent work in the neighborhood influenced the evolution of residential building design. While the attention received from the research homes waned in the last century, the neighborhood has maintained its residential character with few changes while avoiding commercial encroachment and blight.

WKGN is an AM radio station licensed to Knoxville, Tennessee. It was founded by Clarence Beaman, Jr. It first signed on the air September 28, 1947. After various format changes, including a Spanish format, WKGN became an all sports station. In September 2015 WKGN became affiliated with Fox Sports Radio and has both local and national sports talk shows.WKGN has switched formats many times throughout its existence. Previous formats include, but are not limited to: Top 40 from the early 1960s thru 1976, album-oriented rock from 1976–1978, an all-disco format in 1978–1979, switching back to Top 40 in the summer of 1979, then adult contemporary in 1980, and a news-talk format from 1981 through 1985. In 1985, WKGN began programming an urban contemporary format, and in 1986, achieved the highest 12+ Arbitron ratings that the station had achieved since the early 1970s. In September 1987 the station briefly changed its call letters to WLIQ with an oldies format. In August 1988 the station became WKGN again and returned to the urban contemporary format in 1989.

The Ivan Racheff House is a historic house with gardens at 1943 Tennessee Avenue in Knoxville, Tennessee, United States. The house was originally built in 1902, but was later modified by Knoxville Iron Works president Ivan Racheff for use as an office and apartment. Racheff Gardens was established by Racheff in 1947. The house is now used by the Tennessee Federation of Garden Clubs, who maintain the gardens. The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Rule High School was a public high school in Knoxville, Tennessee. It opened in 1927 and closed in 1991.

WUOT (91.9 FM) is the NPR member station in Knoxville, Tennessee. Owned by the University of Tennessee, it airs a mix of news, classical music and jazz, along with programming from NPR, American Public Media and Public Radio International. It primarily features classical music programming, but carries NPR news programs daily, as well as jazz music for ninety minutes every weeknight and all evening on Fridays and folk music Saturday evenings. Forest Heights is a neighborhood in Knoxville, Tennessee. It is located in West Knoxville, surrounded by the concurrent Interstates 40 and 75 to the north, Highland Memorial Cemetery to the west, and Sutherland Avenue to the south. The oldest parts of the neighborhood along Forest Hills Boulevard have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Forest Hills Boulevard Historic District. The neighborhood was initially constructed in the 1920s and 1930s, though most of the current houses date to after World War II. Much like Knoxville neighborhoods such as Sequoyah Hills, North Hills, and Lindbergh Forest, the early development of Forest Heights was influenced by the rise of automobile travel.
