WKGN is an AM radio station licensed to Knoxville, Tennessee. It was founded by Clarence Beaman, Jr. It first signed on the air September 28, 1947. After various format changes, including a Spanish format, WKGN became an all sports station. In September 2015 WKGN became affiliated with Fox Sports Radio and has both local and national sports talk shows.WKGN has switched formats many times throughout its existence. Previous formats include, but are not limited to: Top 40 from the early 1960s thru 1976, album-oriented rock from 1976–1978, an all-disco format in 1978–1979, switching back to Top 40 in the summer of 1979, then adult contemporary in 1980, and a news-talk format from 1981 through 1985. In 1985, WKGN began programming an urban contemporary format, and in 1986, achieved the highest 12+ Arbitron ratings that the station had achieved since the early 1970s. In September 1987 the station briefly changed its call letters to WLIQ with an oldies format. In August 1988 the station became WKGN again and returned to the urban contemporary format in 1989.

Middlebrook is a historic house located at 4001 Middlebrook Pike in Knoxville, Tennessee. It was constructed circa 1845 by Gideon Morgan Hazen, and is one of the oldest existing frame residences in Knoxville.The house is a typical large estate home. The property also includes a small Gothic Revival spring house. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

West High School, also known as Knoxville West High School, is a public high school in the Knox County school district located at 3300 Sutherland Avenue in Knoxville, Tennessee. The feeder schools are Bearden Middle, Northwest Middle, and West Valley Middle. The Benjamin Morton House, also known as the Morton-Bush House, is a historic brick home located at 4084 Kingston Pike in Knoxville, Tennessee, United States. It was constructed in 1927, and designed in the Colonial Revival style by the noted Knoxville architectural firm, Baumann and Baumann. The residence carries the name of its early occupant, Benjamin Morton (1875–1952). Morton was the president of the wholesale grocer, H. T. Hackney Company, and served as Knoxville's mayor from 1924 until 1927. The Benjamin Morton House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. Its grounds include extensive gardens.

WITA (1490 AM, "Inspiration 1490") is a Christian radio station located in Knoxville, Tennessee. It broadcasts a Christian format with some conservative talk shows and news from the USA Radio Network. In the late 1960s into the mid-1970s, WITA was known as WROL, "Real Rock And Roll Radio". It was the only station in Knoxville airing an AOR format, playing album cuts from artists such as the Allman Brothers, Led Zeppelin and the Grateful Dead. The station boasted Knoxville's first female DJ to gain popularity with the University Of Tennessee student population, Leslie Shelor (Leslie Shelor Swann after marriage; also known as "Peggy Swann" to good friends). During this period it was known as "W-149" as a play on its frequency of 1490 kHz. The daytime 1,000-watt signal originated in Fountain City in north Knoxville, but the nighttime 250-watt signal originated at a separate transmitter site which was much closer to campus. In the mid-1970s the station switched format to top 40 as WKVQ (15Q), but found it difficult to compete with more powerful signals like WNOX and WOKI-FM. By the late 1970s the religious format had begun. 2018 Gubernatorial Libertarian candidate Vinnie Vineyard, better known as Funkmaster V from Wrestling With Ghosts, hosted an hour long rock/ comedy program entitled "Cousin Vinnie's Rock N Roll Show" on the station during 1995–1996.

Forest Heights is a neighborhood in Knoxville, Tennessee. It is located in West Knoxville, surrounded by the concurrent Interstates 40 and 75 to the north, Highland Memorial Cemetery to the west, and Sutherland Avenue to the south. The oldest parts of the neighborhood along Forest Hills Boulevard have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Forest Hills Boulevard Historic District. The neighborhood was initially constructed in the 1920s and 1930s, though most of the current houses date to after World War II. Much like Knoxville neighborhoods such as Sequoyah Hills, North Hills, and Lindbergh Forest, the early development of Forest Heights was influenced by the rise of automobile travel. The neighborhood was annexed by the city of Knoxville in 1960. Interstates 40 and 75 bisected the community much to the protestation of the neighborhood residents. Its ZIP Code is 37919.

Kingston Pike is a highway in Knox County, Tennessee, United States, that connects Downtown Knoxville with West Knoxville, Farragut, and other communities in the western part of the county. The road follows a merged stretch of U.S. Route 11 (US 11) and US 70. From its initial construction in the 1790s until the development of the Interstate Highway System in the 1960s, Kingston Pike was the main traffic artery in western Knox County, and an important section of several cross-country highways. The road is now a major commercial corridor, containing hundreds of stores, restaurants, and other retail establishments.The old Kingston road was originally surveyed and laid out in 1792 by Charles McClung which connected Knoxville to Campbell's Station, now Farragut. About 1795, the road was extended to Fort Southwest Point at what is now Kingston. During the Civil War, Confederate and Union forces fought several skirmishes along the Kingston road as they struggled for control of Knoxville. The Kingston Turnpike Company was chartered in 1866 to improve the Kingston road and by 1893 had extended the improved road to the county line. From the 1920s into the 1950s, Kingston Pike was a major stopover for tourists traveling along the Dixie and Lee highways, which intersected at Kingston Pike.Starting with the completion of West Town Mall in 1970, Kingston Pike developed into Knoxville's largest retail corridor. Historian Jack Neely wrote, "If suburban sprawl had a local name, it would be Kingston Pike." The road is now home to "an enclosed shopping mall, a big-box mall, over 100 strip malls, 100 chain restaurants," and "more acreage of asphalt surface parking than any other street in the Knoxville MSA."

The station is currently owned by Ra-Tel Broadcasting Company, Inc.WKXV has been consistent in its format since 1953. WKXV hosts many different denominations among the various local and national religious/talk programs. Many of the locally produced programs are broadcast live from the WKXV studios. Some are broadcast from their church via live remote or tape delayed. It broadcasts community news, local church events, and other function several times daily. WKXV is locally owned and operated by Ra-Tel Broadcasting Co. Inc., and operates on a daytime power of 1000 watts and late-night power of 258 watts. WKXV Radio began broadcasting February 14, 1953.
