The school serves students from all over Middlesex County who are eligible to apply to their program of choice while in eighth grade.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 172 students and 11.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 15.0:1. There were 5 students (2.9% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 1 (0.6% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

The Woodbridge Academy Magnet School, formerly known as the Middlesex County Academy for Allied Health and Biomedical Sciences, is a four-year career academy and college preparatory magnet public high school located in Woodbridge Township in Middlesex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades as part of the Middlesex County Magnet Schools, which serves students of many diverse cultures from all over Middlesex County. While enrolled in this high school student are able to receive college credits for classes based in allied health and biomedical sciences through Rutgers University–Newark.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 285 students and 19.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 15.0:1. There were 13 students (4.6% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 4 (1.4% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Nixon is an unincorporated community located within Edison Township in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. It was named after Lewis Nixon, a manufacturer and community leader. Soon after the outbreak of World War I, Nixon established a massive volatile chemicals processing facility there, known as the Nixon Nitration Works. It was the site of the 1924 Nixon Nitration Works disaster, a massive explosion and resulting fire that killed 20 persons and destroyed several square miles around the plant.

Edison Assembly, also known as Metuchen Assembly, was a Ford Motor Company manufacturing plant in Edison, New Jersey. It was located at 939 U.S. Route 1 and occupied over 100 acres when it was open. The factory began operations in 1948 and closed on February 27, 2004. Several popular Ford products were manufactured there, such as the Ford Mustang, Ford Ranger, and the Ford Pinto. When the plant opened, it manufactured the new Mercury branded and Lincoln vehicles. It was one of three Ford manufacturing facilities in New Jersey and was built two years before the Mahwah Assembly plant was opened in 1950. The plant produced 6.9 million vehicles in total; switching to compact car assembly in the 1960s, it built the Ford Falcon and Mustang and the related Mercury Comet, and then to subcompact cars in 1972 with the Ford Pinto and Mercury Bobcat and later their Escort and Lynx successors.Production shifted to Ranger pickups in 1990, and produced 1.7 million Rangers along with the related Mazda B-Series.It was one of only three locations where Ford manufactured the first generation Mustang; the other sites were Dearborn Assembly and Milpitas Assembly in San Jose, California.As of 2019, the site is occupied by a Sam's Club, Topgolf and various restaurants.

AnimeNEXT (AN) is an annual three-day anime convention held at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Edison, New Jersey. The convention was previously held at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey, the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, New Jersey, and the Atlantic City Convention Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Bonhamtown is a section of Edison Township in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States.The area was named after Nicholas Bonham, a freeholder from the 17th century. Along with New Dover, New Durham, and Stelton it is one of the older historical communities established before the present-day municipality was incorporated. The historical community of Bonhamtown was originally part of Woodbridge Township. Bonhamtown became part of Raritan Township in 1870 when it was formed from portions of Woodbridge and Piscataway townships. Raritan Township was renamed Edison Township in 1954.Bonhamtown is surrounded by several major roads, which include: Interstate 287, the New Jersey Turnpike, U.S. Route 1, Route 27, and Route 440. The Bonhamtown Branch of Conrail Shared Assets Operations (CRCX) runs through the area from the Northeast Corridor to Raritan Center, site of the former Raritan Arsenal.

The Battle of Punk Hill was a relatively minor skirmish in the greater Forage War of the American Revolutionary War, but it narrowly missed being a major turning point. Approximately 3000 British regulars left Amboy for the Punk Hill area, ostensibly on a foraging expedition. General William Maxwell observed this movement from a nearby hill and sent a small detachment to harass the British on the left and sent a larger force to the right towards Bonhamtown, hoping to outflank them. The larger force consisted of two detachments, one from Col. Potter's Pennsylvania militia and commanded by Col. Cook. the other detachment was from Col. Thacher's New England troops.Cook's and Thacher's men joined forces approximately one half mile out and almost immediately encountered and engaged a substantial advanced party of British. General Maxwell sent Col. Martin and Lt. Col. Lindley to reinforce them quickly and began to assembling his main force to follow.The British also sent reinforcements but they were cut off by another regiment of Americans. That British reinforcements retreated in confusion, sparking a general panic among their comrades and turning the entire engagement into a rout. The Americans chased them as far as Bonhamtown and Metuchen, but did not have sufficient numbers or cover to continue the pursuit.There were at least four British killed and three taken prisoner. One of the prisoners revealed that General Howe had been at Bonhamtown during the engagement. Had Maxwell known this beforehand, the Battle of Punk Hill could have been a pivotal moment in the war.

The Kin-Buc Landfill is a 220-acre (0.89 km2) Superfund site located in Edison, New Jersey where 70 million US gallons (260,000 m3) of liquid toxic waste and 1 million tons of solid waste were dumped. It was active from the late 1940s to 1976. It was ordered closed in 1977. Cleanup operations have been underway to address environmental issues with contamination from 1980s through to 2000s. This site was one of the largest superfund sites in New Jersey having taken in around 90 million US gallons (340,000 m3). The site is heavily contaminated with PCBs, which leaked into Edmonds Creek, a tributary of the Raritan River.

Edison High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in Edison, in Middlesex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The school serves students of many diverse cultures, and is part of the Edison Township Public Schools. The other high school in the district is J. P. Stevens High School. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools.Most of the Edison High School students come from either Herbert Hoover Middle School or Thomas Jefferson Middle School, though some come from Woodrow Wilson Middle School.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 2,223 students and 162.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.7:1. The Mary Wilkins Freeman House is a historic house located at 207 Lake Avenue in the Borough of Metuchen in Middlesex County, New Jersey. It was the home of the author, Mary Eleanor Wilkins Freeman (1852–1930). Built c. 1868, the house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 17, 2020, for its significance in literature from 1902 to 1907.

Raritan Center is a business park located in Edison, New Jersey. Sited on part of the former Raritan Arsenal, the Raritan Center Business Park is a 2,300-acre (930 ha) logistics center with office buildings and millions of square feet of light manufacturing or distribution. It provides services for transload, cross-dock, warehousing and “3PL” service providers operations. It is home to regional distribution facilities for organizations including Federal Express, CertainTeed, Arizona Beverage Company, United Parcel Service, among others. The newsroom of News 12 New Jersey and the New Jersey Convention & Expo Center are located at the center. In 2012, Avidan Management built which what was then the nation's largest solar rooftop installation at 17 acres (6.9 ha) at the center.
