Sint-Kornelis-Horebeke

Horebeke (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɦoːrəbeːkə]) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Sint-Kornelis-Horebeke and Sint-Maria-Horebeke. On 1 January 2018, Horebeke had a total population of 2,048. The total area is 11.20 km² . The Corsele parish in Sint-Maria-Horebeke has a Protestant church which dates from 1872 and a museum dedicated to Abraham Hans (the former Protestant village teacher and story teller) built in 1812 as a parish school. There have been Protestants in Sint-Maria-Horebeke since the Reformation of the 16th century.

Zegelsem is a village in the municipality of Brakel in the province of East Flanders, Belgium. Zegelsem is an agricultural community in the Flemish Ardennes. It is located about 26 kilometres (16 mi) south of Ghent.

The Molenberg (Mill Hill) is a hill in the municipality of Zwalm, in the Belgian province of East Flanders, with its top at 56 m. It is the one of the many hills in the Zwalm region, just north of the Flemish Ardennes. The road of the Molenberg has a roughly-paved cobbled surface, which is classified and protected as a landscape monument. At the foot of the hill there is a 13th-century water mill, the Moldergemmolen, from which the hill takes its name.

The Leberg is a hill and uphill street in Elst, part of the municipality of Brakel, in the Belgian province of East Flanders. Its top is at 99 m altitude, making it one of the highest hills of the Zwalm region, just north of the Flemish Ardennes. The road has an asphalt surface and links the valley town of Elst to the hilltop town of Zegelsem.

The Flemish Ardennes (Dutch: Vlaamse Ardennen) is an informal name given to a hilly region in the south of the province of East Flanders, Belgium. Highest summit is the Hotondberg (145 m). Main characteristics of the region are rural hilly landscapes with hilltop bluebell woodlands (Muziekbos, Brakelbos, Kluisbos), windmills and watermills. The area is distinct from the Ardennes, which is further to the south in Wallonia, France and Luxembourg. Among the largest towns in the area are Oudenaarde, Ronse, Zottegem and Geraardsbergen. Cycling is particularly popular in the area. Many major bike races are held here, including a large part of the Tour of Flanders. Most of its toughest climbs (Koppenberg, Taaienberg, Molenberg, Paterberg, Oude Kwaremont, Muur van Geraardsbergen, Eikenberg) and most of its cobblestone-street sections (Paddestraat) are situated in the Flemish Ardennes.

Elst is a village belonging to the municipality of Brakel. It is located in the Denderstreek in the province East Flanders in Belgium.

The Eikenberg (English: Oak Hill) is a hill and road in the municipality of Maarkedal, in the Belgian province of East Flanders. With an 82 m altitude top, its is one of many hill formations in the Flemish Ardennes, in the south of East Flanders. The slopes of the hill are paved in cobbles, with a road gradually winding upwards from the Maarke brook to the top in Kerzelare village, 3 km east of Oudenaarde. The top of the climb is on the intercity road between Brakel and Oudenaarde. The cobbled climb is one of the regular sites in Flemish cycling races in springtime. In 1995 the road of the Eikenberg was classified as a protected monument.

Welden is a village in the municipality of Oudenaarde in the province of East Flanders, Belgium, and is situated along the Scheldt. It is located about 20 kilometres (12 mi) south of Ghent.

Zwalm (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈzʋɑl(ə)m]) is a municipality located in Flanders, in the Flemish province of East Flanders, in Belgium. The municipality comprises the villages of Beerlegem, Dikkele, Hermelgem, Hundelgem, Meilegem, Munkzwalm, Nederzwalm, Paulatem, Roborst, Rozebeke, Sint-Blasius-Boekel, Sint-Denijs-Boekel and Sint-Maria-Latem. In 2021, Zwalm had a total population of 8,244. The total area is 33.82 km2.

The Zwalm or Zwalmbeek is a tributary of the Scheldt and one of the main watercourses in the Flemish Ardennes in the southern part of the Belgian province of East Flanders.

Brakel (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbraːkəl] ) is a municipality in the Belgian province of East Flanders in the Denderstreek and the Flemish Ardennes. The name is derived from a Carolingian villa Braglo first mentioned in 866 and located in the center of Opbrakel. Since 1970, the municipality has comprised the villages of Nederbrakel, Opbrakel, Michelbeke, Elst, Zegelsem. In 1977 Everbeek, Parike and part of Sint-Maria-Oudenhove were added. On 1 January 2018, Brakel had a population of 14,781. The area is 56.46 km² which gives a population density of 262 per km². The mayor is Stefaan De Vleeschouwer. The region is known for the green hills and valleys, which attract cyclists and walkers and play a role in the Tour of Flanders cycling race. The Braekel chicken is named after the town. The Uitkijktoren, a 32 metres (105 ft) high viewing tower was opened in April 2001. It is located at 50.8124°N 3.7391°E / 50.8124; 3.7391 on the Twaalfbunderstraat, north-west of Nederbrakel. Orientation boards at the top enable visitors to identify places of interest in all directions.

Opbrakel is a village and deelgemeente (sub-municipality) of the municipality of Brakel. It is located in the Denderstreek in the province of East Flanders in Belgium. It used to be an independent municipality until 1971 when it was merged into Brakel.
