Amaroo () is a suburb in the Canberra, Australia district of Gungahlin and was gazetted on 18 October 1991. Amaroo means 'a beautiful place' in Nyoongar. Place names in Amaroo such as Shoalhaven Avenue are named after Australian rivers and lakes. Amaroo is adjacent to the suburbs of Ngunnawal, Gungahlin, Moncrieff, Forde, Bonner and Jacka. The suburb is bounded by Mirrabei Drive and Horse Park Drive and Gundaroo Drive. The suburb is located approximately 1 km from the Gungahlin Town Centre and 15 km from the centre of Canberra.

Forde is a northern suburb of the Canberra, Australia district of Gungahlin. It is named in honour of Frank Forde, who served as Prime Minister of Australia for a week in 1945 following the untimely death of John Curtin. The suburb abuts the Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary and is adjacent to the suburbs of Amaroo, Throsby and Bonner. The suburb is bound to the south and west respectively by Horse Park Drive and Gundaroo Road. Settlement of the suburb began in 2008 and it had an estimated population of 4,308 at the 2016 census.

Jacka is a suburb of Gungahlin, Canberra, the National Capital of Australia. The suburb was gazetted on 25 April 2001 and development began in 2013. It had some residents at the beginning of 2014. The suburb is named after Albert Jacka, the first Australian to be decorated with the Victoria Cross during the First World War, receiving the medal for his actions during the Gallipoli Campaign. Jacka is located in north Gungahlin adjacent to the suburbs of Amaroo, Taylor, Bonner and Moncrieff. The suburb is located approximately 4 km from the Gungahlin Town Centre and 16 km from the centre of Canberra.

Gungahlin is an Aboriginal word meaning either "white man's house" or "little rocky hill".As of 2022 Gungahlin comprised sixteen suburbs, including several under construction and a further suburb planned. The town of Gungahlin was part of the original 1957 plan for development in the ACT and in 1991 was officially launched as the fourth 'town' by the ACT Chief Minister. At the time, the population of Gungahlin was just 389 residents. At the 2021 census, the population of the district was 87,682.Within the district is the northernmost town centre of the ACT, situated 10 kilometres (6 mi) north of Canberra City ("Civic" in the local parlance); one of five satellite cities of the ACT, with Woden, Tuggeranong, Weston Creek and Belconnen.

The name was gazetted in April 1991, with initial land releases becoming available to developers in June 2014. It is named after Gladys Moncrieff, an Australian singer of the 1920-1930s musical era who was dubbed 'Australia's Queen of Song'. The suburb is in north Gungahlin, adjacent to the existing suburbs of Ngunnawal and Amaroo and the future suburbs of Taylor and Jacka. The suburb is located approximately 4 km from the Gungahlin Town Centre and 16 km from the centre of Canberra, and is bounded by Mirrabei Drive and Horse Park Drive. It is home to the Moncrieff Community Recreation Park, which was voted the ACT's favourite playground in 2021.Like most new Canberra suburbs, it is a cat containment area: all cats have to be kept inside the cat owner's property and within an enclosure if outside.

Gungahlin Place is a transport interchange located in the Gungahlin Town Centre. It is the northern terminus of the Canberra Metro R1 Civic to Gungahlin line and is an important connection point between light rail and bus transport. The current bus interchange opened on 21 April 2018. Despite the station being named Gungahlin Place, the light rail platforms are actually located on a section of Hibberson Street that has been closed to road traffic. Light rail service began in April 2019. As the northern terminus of Canberra Metro's R1 route, Gungahlin Place is the second busiest light rail station on the network, with 20% of all passengers boarding or alighting a service here in the first 10 months of operation.

Gungahlin Enclosed Oval is a multi-use stadium located in the north Canberra region of Gungahlin, Australian Capital Territory. It is the home ground for Gungahlin United, Gungahlin Jets, Gungahlin Bulls and Gungahlin Eagles. The venue has a seating capacity of 1,150 people and an overall capacity of 5,000.

Gungahlin United Football Club (formerly Juventus SC and Gungahlin Juventus SC) is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in the Canberra district of Gungahlin, ACT. Gungahlin currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Capital Football with home matches played at the recently constructed Gungahlin Enclosed Oval.

Gungahlin United FC Womens is an Australian amateur women's association football club based in the Canberra district of Gungahlin, ACT. Established in 2015 by Gungahlin United FC, the team currently competes in the ACT Women's National Premier League with home matches played at Gungahlin Enclosed Oval.

Manning Clark North is a light rail station in Australia on the Canberra Metro R1 Civic to Gungahlin line, located at the intersection of Flemington Road and the western end of Manning Clark Crescent. The station serves the eastern part of the Gungahlin Town Centre as well as the adjacent suburbs of Franklin and Harrison. At the time of opening, much of the land surrounding the station was undeveloped. Bicycle racks and "kiss and ride" bay are provided on Flemington Road close to the station.
