Waterside Mill, Ashton-under-Lyne

Minerva Mill was a cotton spinning mill in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, England. It was built between 1891 and 1892 for the Minerva Spinning Company which was later known as the Ashton Syndicate. Minerva Mill was next to the later Texas mill, at Whitelands. It ceased spinning cotton in the 1920s and was demolished in 1937.

Texas Mill was a cotton spinning mill in the Whitelands district of Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, in England. It was built between 1905 and 1907 for the Ashton Syndicate by Sydney Stott of Oldham. It was destroyed in a massive fire on 22–23 October 1971. It had been re-equipped as a ring mill for spinning artificial fibres when it was destroyed.

Albion Congregational Church was built on Stamford Street East in Ashton-Under-Lyne by John Brooke between 1890 and 95. It is a Grade II listed building.

St. Michael's Church (also known as, St. Michael and All Angels' Church) is an Anglican parish church in Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside, Greater Manchester, England. The church is a Grade I Listed Building. The church dates back to at least 1262, and a church on the site was mentioned in the Domesday Book. The church was rebuilt in the fifteenth century; however little of the previous church remains after it was rebuilt again in the nineteenth century and is still an active place of worship.

Ashton Park Parade railway station was a station on the line between Guide Bridge and Stalybridge in Greater Manchester, England. This station served the town of Ashton-under-Lyne, now served only by Ashton Charlestown, north of this former station.

Tameside College is a further education college located in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, England. The college offers a range of courses for students from Tameside and the surrounding area. These courses include NVQs, BTECs, Apprenticeships, Access courses the college also runs adult learning in the evenings. As well as its operations from its main site in Ashton-under-Lyne, the college also operates three Local Learning Centres in Ashton-under-Lyne, Droylsden and Hyde. Tameside College opened a brand new campus in Ashton Town Centre in 2018 as part of the rengeration work within the town. The new campus includes improved facilities and a larger space to accommodate future students. Tameside College also owns and operates Clarendon Sixth Form College also in Ashton-under-Lyne, offering A-Levels to local school-leavers. The College Principal is Jackie Moores.

Dukinfield and Ashton railway station served Dukinfield in Greater Manchester, England. The station was built at high level on a viaduct as it passed directly above Alma Bridge, King Street, Dukinfield. Access to the platforms was via an entrance in Cooper Street and ascending a staircase inside one of viaduct pillars. The viaduct extended from Whiteland, Ashton under Lyne, transversed the Tame Valley, passing over Crescent Road, King Street, Wharf Street, Charles Street and the Peak Forrest Canal before plunging under the Old Great Central line at Guide Bride and emerging at Audenshaw (Hooley Hill). The station was opened on 2 October 1893 by the London and North Western Railway, and was closed on 25 September 1950 by British Railways.

Dukinfield is a town in Tameside, Greater Manchester, England, on the south bank of the River Tame opposite Ashton-under-Lyne, 6.3 miles (10.1 km) east of Manchester. At the 2011 Census, it had a population of 19,306.Within the boundaries of the historic county of Cheshire, the town developed as a result of the Industrial Revolution when it became the site of coal mining and cotton manufacturing.

Clarendon Sixth Form College is a sixth-form college on Camp Street in Ashton-under-Lyne in the metropolitan borough of Tameside. In October 2015, the college relocated to a new building in Ashton town centre, from the previous site on Clarendon Road in Hyde.

There are over 300 listed buildings in Tameside and three Scheduled Ancient Monuments, which includes a castle of national importance. The settlements in Tameside were small townships centred on agriculture until the advent of the Industrial Revolution. The towns of the borough grew and became involved in the cotton industry, which dominated the local economy. The current borough was created in 1974 as part of the provisions of the Local Government Act 1972.
