Warburton School is on the south side of Dunham Road in the village of Warburton, Greater Manchester, England. It has been converted into a house and is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.The school was built in 1871–72 for the landowner Rowland Egerton-Warburton of Arley Hall, and was designed by the Chester architect John Douglas. It is constructed in brick with stone and terracotta dressings, and has a tiled roof. The building has three bays; from the left, the first two bays contain seven-light mullioned windows. Above the window in the central bay is a dormer gable that contains a three-light mullioned window. The right bay contains a modern patio window. Between the left and central bays is a decorated brick chimney stack. Above the main roof is a hipped bellcote. In the interior of the building are two pairs of truncated crucks supporting the roof.

Heatley & Warburton railway station was located in Heatley near Warburton, Greater Manchester. It opened in 1853 and closed in 1962.

Historically in Cheshire, Warburton lies on the south bank of the River Mersey between the borough of Warrington and Greater Manchester. In the 21st century, the village remains predominantly rural. Altrincham is the nearest town. According to the 2001 census, the parish had a population of 286.Warburton has a history of settlement stretching back to the 11th century, with the possibility of earlier habitation. There are 17 listed buildings in the village, including the timber framed Grade I Church of St Werburgh, which is at least 700 years old. Among the other listed buildings are examples of architect John Douglas' work, including the second Church of St Werburgh, built in 1883. In 2006, Time Team excavated in the lands of Moss Brow Farm in Warburton, looking for a Roman fortlet. However, no evidence of a fortlet was found and the previously identified 'punic' ditch turned out to be the remains of an 18th-century hedgerow.

St Werburgh's Church is the name of two separate churches in the village of Warburton, Greater Manchester, England. The older church is located to the west of the village, and may date back as far as the middle of the 13th century. It is now a redundant church but services are held in the summer months. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building. The authors of the Buildings of England series call this church "a lovable muddle".The newer church was built in 1883–85 and is located to the southeast of the village on the A6144 road. It is a Grade II listed building. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Macclesfield and the deanery of Bowdon. Its benefice is combined with that of St Peter, Oughtrington.The dedication is an unusual one, ordinarily local to Chester, where Werburgh is the patron saint. Werburgh, an Anglo-Saxon saint who has given her name to Warburgtune, as Warburton was called in the Domesday survey (1086), was the daughter of Wulfhere, the first Christian king of Mercia. She died around AD 700 as Abbess of Ely, with the care of several nunneries. Her relics were moved to the abbey of St Peter and St Paul in Chester, which was later rededicated to St Werburgh.

Broadoak School is a coeducational secondary school with academy status located in Partington in the English county of Greater Manchester.Previously a foundation school administered by Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council, Broadoak School converted to academy status on 1 May 2012. Burford Lane Farmhouse is in Burford Lane in the village of Oughtrington, near Lymm, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.The farmhouse was designed by the Chester architect John Douglas for George C. Dewhurst and built in 1866. It is constructed in brown brick with some timber framing and a grey slate roof. It is considered to be "one of the earliest identified farmhouses by Douglas" which "shows his neo-vernacular style in course of development".

Hollins Green is a village on the eastern edge of Warrington, in the Warrington district, in the ceremonial county of Cheshire and formerly in the historic county of Lancashire, England. The village is in the civil parish of Rixton-with-Glazebrook; the ecclesiastical parish is Hollinfare.

Oughtrington Hall was a country house located in Oughtrington Lane to the east of the village of Lymm in Cheshire, England. The manor house was rebuilt in about 1810 for Trafford Trafford (né Leigh: a descendant of the ancient Leighs of West Hall, High Legh), who assumed the surname and arms of Trafford by Royal Licence 5 December 1791 in compliance with the Will of his maternal uncle Richard Trafford, of Swythamley.In 1862 Oughtrington Hall was bought by G. C. Dewhurst, a cotton manufacturer from Manchester. Dewhurst enlarged the service wing and also paid for the construction of St Peter's Church nearby.Built in the neoclassical architectural style, it is rendered of brick with stone dressings and a slate roof. At the centre of the entrance front is a wide canted bay containing a porch with paired Tuscan columns. On each side of the porch are three-light windows under a segmental arch.The former mansion now forms the main building of Lymm High School, and is designated in the National Heritage List for England as a Grade II listed building.

Partington is a town and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford, Greater Manchester, England, ten miles (16 km) south-west of Manchester city centre. Within the boundaries of the historic county of Cheshire, it lies on the southern bank of the Manchester Ship Canal, opposite Cadishead on the northern bank. It has a population of 7,327.The completion of the Manchester Ship Canal in 1894 transformed Partington into a major coal-exporting port and attracted other industries. Until 2007 Shell Chemicals UK operated a major petrochemicals manufacturing complex in Carrington, Partington's closest neighbour to the east. The gas storage facility in the north-eastern corner of the town was once a gasworks and another significant employer. Shortly after the Second World War, local authorities made an effort to rehouse people away from Victorian slums in inner-city Manchester. An area of Partington became an overspill estate and is now one of the most deprived parts of Greater Manchester. The Cheshire Lines Committee opened a railway line through the town in 1873, but it closed in 1964.
