Vukovo Selo is a village in Croatia.

Veliki Obrež (pronounced [ˈʋeːliki ɔˈbɾeːʃ], German: Großobresch) is a settlement on the right bank of the Sotla River in the Municipality of Brežice in eastern Slovenia, close to the border with Croatia. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Lower Sava Statistical Region. The Jovsi wetland lies north of the village.

It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Lower Sava Statistical Region.The local parish church is dedicated to the Holy Name of Mary and belongs to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Celje. It is a Neo-romanesque building with a triple nave, built on the site of two older churches in 1865.

Jovsi is an extensive natural plain divided into wetlands and covering an area of 4.6 square kilometers (1.8 sq mi) in the Municipality of Brežice in Slovenia. It lies west of the lower course of the Sotla River below the Kapele Hills (Slovene: Kapelske gorice). It is bounded by the road from Župelevec to Dobova to the west and the Sotla River to the east. Theories derive the name Jovsi from Slovene jelša 'alder' (a common wetland tree) or from German Jauchsee 'fetid lake'. Until the Sotla River was regulated, the area was regularly inundated by floodwaters from the river.Jovsi is a flood-zone wetland of exceptional natural interest, distinguished by its great diversity of flora and fauna. About 80 species of birds nest here, which has provided ornithologists with the opportunity to collect extensive data. Certain important European species are regularly or intermittently found in Jovsi: the white-tailed eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla), European roller (Coracias garrulus), black stork (Ciconia nigra), white stork (Ciconia ciconia), common snipe (Gallinago gallinago), corn crake (Crex crex), and lesser grey shrike (Lanius minor).Because of its importance for nature conservation, the area is protected as a nature park.

Mihalovec (pronounced [miˈxaːlɔʋəts], German: Michalovetz) is a settlement on the left bank of the Sava River, south of Dobova in the Municipality of Brežice in eastern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. It is now included in the Lower Sava Statistical Region.Two graves in a small burial ground dating to the late 1st and early 2nd centuries AD have been excavated near the settlement. The adjacent remains of a Villa rustica confirm Roman occupation in the area.

Jesenice (pronounced [jɛsɛˈniːtsɛ]; sometimes also Jesenice na Dolenjskem, German: Jessenitz) is a settlement on the right bank of the Sava River in the Municipality of Brežice in eastern Slovenia, right on the border with Croatia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola. During the Second World War it was one of five Slovene settlements annexed by the Independent State of Croatia. It is now included in the Lower Sava Statistical Region. The local church is dedicated to Mary Magdalene and belongs to the Parish of Velika Dolina. It was built in the mid-16th century. It also contains Mokrice Castle, now run as a hotel and golf course.
