Newtonville United Methodist Church

Newtonville is a hamlet in the town of Colonie in Albany County, New York, United States. Located along U.S. Route 9, the hamlet is just south of Latham and north of Loudonville. Colonie Town Hall is located in the hamlet of Newtonville.

George H. Lawton House is a historic home located at Colonie in Albany County, New York. It was built about 1852 and is a 1+1⁄2-story cottage in the Gothic Revival style. It has board and batten siding, exposed roof rafters, and a 1-story porch with simple supports. It is a distinctive example of mid-19th-century "pattern book" architecture.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Newtonville Post Office is a historic post office building located at Newtonville in Albany County, New York, United States. It was built in 1852 as the First Baptist Church. It is a one-story, rectangular red brick building with a gable roof. The Rev. William Arthur, father of President Chester Alan Arthur lived at Newtonville from 1855 to 1863 and according to tradition is believed to have preached in the church. Church use ceased in the late 19th century and the building was used as a school, bus garage, farm machinery sales office, and after 1940 as a post office.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Newtonville School is a historic school building located at Newtonville in Albany County, New York. It was built in 1925 and consists of a one-story, gable-roofed brick main block with a one-story, rectangular hipped roof wing. It is in the Colonial Revival style and features a wood portico with two slender, fluted Doric order columns. Atop the roof is an octagonal wood cupola with a copper roof. The school was converted to administrative use in 1954.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Colonie is a town in Albany County, New York, United States. It is the most-populous suburb of Albany, and is the third-largest town in area in Albany County, occupying approximately 11% of the county. Several hamlets exist within the town. As of the 2010 census, the town had a total population of 81,641. The name is derived from the Dutch Colonye or "Colonie", derived from the Colonie of Rensselaerswyck. All the land outside the Village of Beverwyck (now Albany) was referred to as the "Colonie". The town of Colonie is north of Albany and is at the northern border of the county. Within the town of Colonie are two villages, one also known as Colonie and the other known as Menands.

Siena College is a private Franciscan college in Loudonville, New York. Siena was founded by the Order of Friars Minor in 1937. The college was named after Bernardino of Siena, a 15th-century Italian Franciscan friar and preacher. St. Bernardine of Siena Friary is located on campus. It has 3,000 full-time students and offers undergraduate degrees in business, liberal arts, and sciences.

Dudley Observatory is an astronomical observatory originally located in Albany, New York, and now in Loudonville, New York. It is no longer operating as a scientific observatory, but remains the oldest non-academic institution of astronomical research in America. The Observatory was chartered on February 11, 1852 by the New York State Senate, and by the New York State Assembly on April 3, 1852. It was named for Charles E. Dudley of Albany, a former United States Senator (1828–1833) and member of the Albany Regency. Dudley lived in New York State, died in 1841, and his widow Blandina Bleeker Dudley endowed the Dudley Observatory after his death.Dudley is part of the coalition of institutions comprising Union University. Other institutions include Albany College of Pharmacy, Albany Law School, Albany Medical College, and the Graduate College of Union University. Dudley Observatory has operated at two different observing sites since its founding. The first began construction in 1852, on a rise to the north-east of downtown Albany that was locally known as "Goat Hill". The building was dedicated on August 28, 1856 prior to its completion, with Edward Everett delivering the keynote oration. By the 1890s, railroad traffic around the original building had grown to the point where the vibrations were disrupting the astronomical instruments. The original building was sold to the city of Albany, and new property was purchased on the grounds of the Albany Alms-House.After World War II, Dudley began a transition from astronomical observation to research for the space race. Consequently, the second observatory was sold to Albany Medical Center in 1963 and an office building was purchased at 100 Fuller Road, near the University at Albany. This phase lasted until the end of the space race, when funding from NASA dried up. The Fuller Road office was rented to the University in 1976. The Observatory made additional moves, first to Schaffer Heights building in Schenectady, then to the MiSci museum of science in Schenectady. and finally to their current location in Roger Bacon Hall at Siena College. The Observatory has evolved from a research to an educational foundation. In 2019, the archival collection was donated to the New York State archives, which had the resources to catalog and preserve the Observatory's documents. A collection of scientific hardware, including a Brashear refracting telescope and equatorial mount, were donated to the New York State Museum in Albany. The Dudley Observatory maintains a collection of rare books including first editions by Galileo and Copernicus. As part of its efforts to enhance its outreach capabilities, in late 2019 the Dudley Observatory moved to Siena College in nearby Loudonville, N.Y.

Treemont Manor is a historic home located at Colonie in Albany County, New York. It was built in 1929 and is an "L" shaped Georgian Revival style mansion. It set within a formal English garden. The main house is two and one half stories with a gable roof, with a two-story servant's wing attached. Also on the property is a contributing guest house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Springwood Manor is a historic home located at Loudonville in Albany County, New York. It was originally built about 1890 and is a 2+1⁄2-story, five-bay, masonry dwelling with a mansard roof. It was extensively remodeled in 1912 in the Colonial Revival style. Also on the property are a barn, carriage house, shed, and gardens with a spring fed pond (all non-contributing).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Siena College is a census-designated place (CDP) and the official name for an area covering the Siena College campus, in Albany County, New York, United States.It first appeared as a CDP in the 2020 Census with a population of 2,281.

Connors Park is a baseball venue in Loudonville, New York, United States. It is home to the Siena Saints baseball team of the NCAA Division I Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The field has been home to Siena's baseball program since its inception in the 1950s. It seats 500 spectators. Features include chairback seating, a team clubhouse, and brick dugouts. Plassman Hall, a Siena dormitory, is visible beyond the center field fence, while J. Spencer and Patricia Standish Library stands beyond the right field fence.
