Burari is a village located in Central district in the Union Territory of Delhi, India. It is located near the border with Uttar Pradesh.

Burari Assembly constituency is one of the seventy Delhi assembly constituencies of Delhi in northern India. Its center is the city of Burari. Burari assembly constituency is a part of North East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency. This constituency was created by reorganization by delimitation commission in 2008.

Bhalswa Horseshoe Lake, or Bhalswa Jheel, is a lake in northwest Delhi, India. It was originally shaped like a horseshoe. However, over the years half of it was used as a landfill area. Now a low income housing colony, an extension of the nearby town of Bhalswa Jahangir Puri, Mukundpur, has been built on it, destroying the once excellent wetland ecosystem and wildlife habitat of the region which once played host to scores of local and migratory wildlife species, especially waterbirds, including waterfowl, storks and cranes. This horseshoe lake was originally formed when the nearby River Yamuna left behind one of its meandering loops here when it changed course over the years and is now channelled through more defined and fortified embankments and dykes to defend modern Delhi from floods. The Burari deaths were a ritual mass suicide of eleven family members of the Chundawat family from Burari, Delhi, India, in 2018. Eleven people were found hanged, while the oldest family member, the grandmother, was strangled. The bodies were found on 1 July 2018; in the early morning after the death. The police have ruled the deaths were motivated by shared delusion or psychosis.

Mukhmel Pur is a census town in North West district in the Indian territory of Delhi. According to the 2011 census, there were 910 families residing in the Mukhmel Pur city. The total population was 4,931 (2,649 males and 2,282 females; sex ratio 861). There were 584 children aged 0–6 years (331 males and 253 females), 12% of the total population. The child sex ratio was 764, lower than the overall ratio (861). The literacy rate was 84.8%, higher than the 84.4% average of North West district. Male literacy was 91.76% and female literacy was 76.74%.

It also is designed to conserve the wild genetic resources of agricultural crops and enhance groundwater recharge and augment freshwater availability.
