Isaac McLean House is an historic house at 2218 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The house was built in 1894 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. In 1894, Isaac McLean (a well-known Boston Accountant) engaged architects Hartwell and Richardson, and the 2218 Massachusetts Avenue (then known as North Avenue) property was built for his residence. The house was built on one of the lots then known as the Farwell Estate. A well-maintained Colonial Revival (one of the two dominant architectural styles during 1870–1920; the other being the Tudor Revival) graced by a wide porch across the entire front with classic fanlight (or transom) above the main entrance, as well as sidelights. One cannot help but notice the handsome pillars with Ionic capitals and ornamental balustrade as well as the dentils under the cornice, typical of this era. The Isaac McLean House, has been known for over 25 years as A Cambridge House Inn. This property, together with a handful of other Victorian homes represents architecture of historical significance. "This grouping of houses represents the sole remnant of what Massachusetts Avenue once was, the most prestigious Cambridge address for mid to late nineteenth century residential construction."

The Lawrence Soule House is an historic house at 11 Russell Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It is a 2+1⁄2-story brick building, with asymmetrical massing typical of the Queen Anne period. Surface texture is varied by different types of brick patterning, and there are a variety of gables, projections, and irregularly placed chimneys. It was built in 1879 for Lawrence Porter Soule to a design by Frank Maynard Howe, an apprentice at the firm of Ware & Van Brunt. The building received immediate notice in the architectural press, and is a rare architect-designed house in North Cambridge.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The M. Clinton Bacon House, listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Clifton Bacon House, is a historic house in Somerville, Massachusetts. Built in 1887, it is one of the city's finest examples of high-style Queen Anne Victorian architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Henderson Carriage Repository is a historic building at 2067-2089 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Located just outside Porter Square, the five story brick building was built in 1892 by the Henderson family of carriage makers, to a design by Charles Park. The building was primarily used as a storage facility for carriages, with its upper floors holding as many as 2000. It has since been converted for use as offices and retail businesses. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Philemon Russell House is a historic house in Somerville, Massachusetts. Philemon Robbins Russell was a farmer who owned 50 acres (20 ha) of apple orchards near Russell Street. This land was converted to house lots for development by Captain Gilman Sargent in 1845 creating Orchard Street, Russell Street and Cottage Place. His house, built 1845, is one of the best-preserved side-hall Greek Revival farmhouses in the city. It was moved to the current location from somewhere else. According to the Somerville Journal, page 6, a fire occurred that badly damaged the upper portion of the house. The cause was a mystery and the estimated damage was $2,000. The Boston Daily Globe reported the first took place on On February 26, 1905. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The R. A. Knight–Eugene Lacount House is a historic house in Somerville, Massachusetts. The two story Second Empire house was built c. 1870; its second owner was Eugene Lacount, an American Civil War veteran. The house's mansard roof is pierced by recessed dormers with segmented arch dormers. The cornices of the roof, projecting bay tops, and front porch are all studded with modillions, and the front porch features turned posts with decorative brackets.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

St. John the Evangelist is a historic Roman Catholic Church at 2270 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The late Speaker of the House, "Tip" O'Neill, was a lifelong parishioner and graduated from St. John High School in 1931. His Requiem Mass was held in the church on January 10, 1994.The church was built in 1904 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The architects, Maginnis, Walsh and Sullivan, won four gold medals from the American Institute of Architects. One was for St. John's.

The Walden Street Cattle Pass, also referred to as the cow path, is an historic site adjacent to the MBTA Commuter Rail Fitchburg Line right-of-way, under the Walden Street Bridge in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. The site, a tunnel for moving cattle between the railroad and the nearby stockyards of the 19th century, was built in 1857. The cattle yards were closed in 1868 or "about 1871", but the cattle trade continued; "until the 1920s, cows were unloaded here and driven down Massachusetts Avenue, through Harvard Square, and across the river to the Brighton Abattoir".Restoration (re-pointing) of the tunnel's brickwork was carried out during the 2007–08 replacement of the second-generation bridge dating from 1914. The third-generation bridge opened for traffic in December 2008. The Cambridge City Council discussed creation of a vantage point for viewing the tunnel, ca. 2008, but no action was taken.
