Stara Cesta (pronounced [ˈstaːɾa ˈtseːsta]) is a settlement in the Municipality of Ljutomer in northeastern Slovenia. The area belongs to the traditional Styria region and is now included in the Mura Statistical Region. The local chapel in the centre of the village was built in the late 19th century. It is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The area traditionally belonged to the Styria region and is now included in the Mura Statistical Region. The Slovene philologist Franz Miklosich was born in the village in 1813. The house where he was born is preserved as a museum. It dates to the 17th century and was expanded in 1926, when a commemorative plaque was also unveiled. It was restored in 1960 and again in 1991. Branoslavci (pronounced [ˈbɾaːnɔslau̯tsi], German: Malleggendorf) is a village in the Municipality of Ljutomer in northeastern Slovenia. The area traditionally belonged to the Styria region and is now included in the Mura Statistical Region. There is a small Neo-Gothic chapel in the centre of the village. It was built in the late 19th century. In the south of the settlement is a large mansion known as Branek Castle (Slovene: Grad Branek). The surviving building is a two-storey early 20th-century adaptation after a major fire in 1925 of what was a 16th-century castle, which had in turn developed on the site of a tower of an early Slavic defence enclosure.

Prlekija is a region in northeastern Slovenia between the Drava and Mura rivers. It comprises the eastern part of the Slovene Hills (Slovene: Slovenske gorice), stretching from the border with Austria to the border with Croatia. It is part of the traditional province of Lower Styria. Together with the traditional province of Prekmurje, it forms part of the Mura Statistical Region. Its central and largest town is Ljutomer. The region is known for its first-class wines, food, and the specific dialect of its inhabitants, which together with Prekmurje Slovene belongs to the Pannonian dialectal group of Slovene dialects, with which it is mutually intelligible. The symbol of the region is the klopotec, a wooden mechanical device on a high wooden pole, similar to a windmill, used to keep birds away from pecking at grapes in vineyards. Tünka is a protected food product from Prlekija. It is made of minced lard and pork. Prlekija is also known for other foods, such as prleška gibanica, dumplings and various sour cream soups and stews. The region roughly comprises the municipalities of Križevci, Ljutomer, Radenci, Razkrižje, Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici, Veržej, Gornja Radgona, Sveti Tomaž, Središče ob Dravi, and Ormož. However, the borders of the region are not fully defined.
