Kingscliff High School, sometimes referred to as Kingy High is a government-funded co-educational comprehensive secondary day school, located in Kingscliff, in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia.Established in 1986, the school enrolled approximately 1,000 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom 12 percent identified as Indigenous Australians and eight percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education; the principal is Michael Hensley.The school has close ties with the adjoining Kingscliff Institute of TAFE.

Chinderah is a town in the Tweed Shire. It is located south of Tweed Heads and next to the seaside township of Kingscliff. An industrial estate, golf course and small shopping precinct are located within the area.

Cook Island, formerly Cooks Island, Turtle Island and Joong-urra-narrian, is an island in the Australian state of New South Wales located on the state's north coast about 600 metres (2,000 ft) north-east of Fingal Head and 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) south-east of the town of Tweed Heads.: 1, 2 

Cook Island Aquatic Reserve is a marine protected area in the South Pacific Ocean, located around Cook Island, about 600 metres (2,000 ft) from the Fingal Head mainland of New South Wales. The aquatic reserve consists of the waters around the island within a radius of 500 metres (1,600 ft) of a survey marker located on the island up to the Mean High Water Mark. It was declared on 23 October 1998 under the state's Fisheries Management Act 1994. As of 2016, its area was 74 hectares (180 acres).The aquatic reserve consists of two zones – one extending from Mean High Water Mark on the island to a "boundary defined by five marker buoys" where fishing is prohibited and another extending from the "marker buoys" to the outer boundary of the aquatic reserve where fishing is permitted.: 8 The waters within the aquatic reserve are used for recreational activities including swimming, boating and diving. Thirteen moorings have been located within the aquatic reserve for use by boats to eliminate the need to anchor and therefore minimise damage to the seabed.: 8 The aquatic reserve contains a wide variety of fish species including anemonefish, bullseyes, groupers, leatherjackets, parrotfish, pufferfish, surgeonfish, sweetlips and trevally. It is frequented by migratory shark species, blind sharks (Brachaelurus waddi), leopard sharks (Stegostoma semifasciatum) and wobbegongs. Other native animals include brittle stars, flatworms, shrimps, nudibranchs, crustaceans, green turtles, jellyfish, molluscs and stingrays. It hosts diverse fauna and was noted as an important habitat of sharks in 2009 by Tweed Shire Council's Coast and Waterways Officer, Tom Alletson.As of 2016, the aquatic reserve has been classified under International Union for Conservation of Nature system of protected area categories with the no-fishing zone is IUCN Category II and the line fishing only zone is IUCN Category IV.

Banora Point is a suburb located in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia in Tweed Shire. Together with Tweed Heads South and Terranora it had a combined population of 27,368 in 2001, including 21,457 (78.4%) Australian-born persons and 525 (1.9%) indigenous persons. In the 2016 census, Banora Point had a population of 16,167.The eastern boundary is aligned with the Tweed River. There is a golf course in its centre and several islands along the river. The Pacific Motorway passes through the eastern parts. The town is largely suburban although it has also become a hub for small businesses with a growing industrial estate and shopping precincts. A number of schools, both public and Catholic, are also situated in the region. Demographically, families and retirees account for much of its growing population.

Cook Island Nature Reserve is a protected area in the Australian state of new South Wales located on Cook Island about 600 metres (2,000 ft) off the coastline from the headland of Fingal Head and about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) south-east of Tweed Heads on the state's north coast.: 2 The nature reserve consists of the full extent of Cook Island down to the Mean High Water Mark. The land under protection was first proclaimed as a fauna reserve under the Fauna Protection Act 1948 on 8 August 1959. It became a nature reserve under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1967 in 1967. It is surrounded by the Cook Island Aquatic Reserve.: 2  As of 2016, it covered an area of 5 hectares (12 acres). In 1978, the nature reserve was described as follows: Cook Island provides a breeding habitat for seabirds, in particular the crested tern (Sterna bergii) and the wedge tailed shearwater (Puffinus pacificus). The crested tern is an international migratory bird. The island is well vegetated with closed scrub. This vegetation provides shelter for the nesting birds. The island has a large population of wedge tailed shearwaters. Due to difficulty of access on to the island the vegetation has maintained its natural condition… The nature reserve is classified as an IUCN Category Ia protected area. In 1978, it was listed on the now-defunct Register of the National Estate.

Saint Joseph's College (SJC) is an independent Roman Catholic co-educational secondary day school, located in Banora Point, near Tweed Heads, the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia. Founded in 1993, the college is administered by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lismore and associated with the Parish of St Joseph, along with St Joseph's Primary School and St James' Primary School, the latter of which is situated on the same campus.

The Cudgen Road Tunnel is a twin-tube road tunnel that forms part of the Pacific Motorway (M1) located near Stotts Creek in the Tweed Valley of New South Wales, Australia. The twin 134-metre-long (440 ft) tunnels are illuminated inside with northbound traffic using one tunnel and southbound traffic in the other. The tunnels pass under the Cudgen Road and the Condong Range.
