Middletown High School North, home of the Lions, is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in Middletown Township, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades as one of the two secondary schools of the Middletown Township Public School District. Other students from Middletown Township attend Middletown High School South. The school also houses a 750-seat theater. Approximately 90% of North students attend college after graduation. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1936.As of the 2020–21 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,429 students and 103.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.8:1. There were 194 students (13.6% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 51 (3.6% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Middletown is a passenger railway station for New Jersey Transit's North Jersey Coast Line in Middletown Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey. Located along both sides of Church Street in Middletown, the station is the only active station within the township. The station depot contains two high-level platforms for Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990 compliance, four ticket vending machines and 1,616 parking spaces among two lots, 28 of which are handicap accessible.

In the 2000 Census, the ZCTA population was 28,689.The public New Monmouth Elementary School and the parochial Mater Dei High School are located in New Monmouth. Most of the area is suburban, with single-family houses dotting the landscape. The two major roads that pass through New Monmouth are County Route 516 (Cherry Tree Farm Road and Leonardville Road) and New Monmouth Road (CR 50).

Mater Dei Prep: A Catholic Preparatory School (commonly known as "Mater Dei High School") is a four-year Catholic coeducational high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades, located in the New Monmouth section of Middletown Township, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. Mater Dei is no longer part of St. Mary Parish and operates under the supervision of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Trenton. The school is accredited by the Middle State Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools and is a member of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA). In February 2015, the pastor of St. Mary Parish announced that the school would be closing at the end of the 2014-15 school year, in the wake of chronic fiscal deficits. A few days after the announcement, it was disclosed that the Parish Finance Council had agreed to a two-month extension in order to raise the $1 million needed to remain open. Through the Seraph's Fund, and massive efforts by the student body, $1.5 million was raised in just six weeks, and the school managed to stay open.As of the 2019–20 school year, the school had an enrollment of 316 students and 28.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.9:1. The school's student body was 76.9% (243) White, 12.7% (40) Black, 5.7% (18) Hispanic and 4.7% (15) Asian.On May 9, 2022, it was announced that the school would be closing at the end of the school year due to a dramatic decline in enrollment.

Poricy Park is a 250 acres (100 ha) nature preserve and park in Middletown Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey. It is known for its Cretaceous period fossil shell beds along the Poricy Brook streambed, open to the public for limited collecting. The park also contains a Nature Center and the Murray Farmhouse and Barn, a New Jersey Historic Site.

Chapel Hill is an unincorporated community located within Middletown Township, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. As its name implies, the area is on a high spot within the township between Fairview and Leonardo just south of the Naval Weapons Station Earle Waterfront Section. Unlike other areas of Middletown Township, the Chapel Hill section is not as developed with single-family homes; only a few housing developments are located off the area's main roads, Kings Highway and Chapel Hill Road. The rest of the area outside NWS Earle consists of horse farms and forestland.The section of the township was the site of a Project Nike missile site located off Normandy Road, a road and railroad corridor connecting the two portions of NWS Earle. On May 22, 1958, an explosion of ordinances at the site killed ten workers on site. The United States Army operated the site until 1960 and all military activity ceased in 1963. A memorial to the deceased sits at nearby Fort Hancock, Sandy Hook.
