Lincoln Manor is one of the master-planned residence parks in the western neighborhoods of San Francisco, with the others including Sea Cliff, St. Francis Wood, Presidio Terrace, West Clay Park, Forest Hill, Balboa Terrace, Ingleside Terraces, and Jordan Park. Lincoln Manor, established in 1914, is located within the Richmond District, in the Northwest portion of San Francisco. Lincoln Manor is bounded by 36th Avenue to the East, 38th Avenue to the West, Clement Street to the North, Geary Boulevard to the South, and is bisected by Shore View Avenue. The tract features a slight rise in elevation, which provides houses in Lincoln Manor with a view south toward the Pacific Ocean. Its single-family generally large detached homes were developed between approximately 1914-1916 by Lyon & Hoag as a so-called "restricted residence park," built by the S.A. Born Building Company, builders of West Clay Park and Sea Cliff. Lincoln Manor was promoted by its developers as a residence park with ocean views facing south instead of west. The enclave abuts Land's End, Lincoln Park, and the Legion of Honor, and is close to Sea Cliff, the Balboa Street shopping district, and the Katherine Delmar Burke School.

The station is located at the intersection of Judah Street with the Sunset Boulevard parkway, which is flanked by 37th Avenue on the west and 36th Avenue on the east. The station has the same layout as Taraval and Sunset: the curb-level inbound platform is located between 37th Avenue and Sunset, with the accessible mini-high platform west of 37th Avenue. Both the curb-level and accessible portions of the outbound platform are located between Sunset and 36th Avenue. In March 2014, Muni released details of the proposed implementation of their Transit Effectiveness Project (later rebranded MuniForward), which included a variety of stop changes for the N Judah line. Under that plan - which will be implemented as the N Judah Rapid Project - the platforms will be moved to the opposite sides of Sunset Boulevard so that trains can cross through the intersection before stopping.

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass (HSB), originally Strictly Bluegrass, is an annual free and non-commercial music festival held the first weekend of October in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, California. Conceived and subsidized by San Francisco venture capitalist Warren Hellman, the festival has been held every year since the first event in 2001. From its outset, the festival has been subsidized by Hellman. Various corporations have offered to sponsor the event over the years, but Hellman always turned them down, saying in an interview, "I want to keep it entirely free and noncommercial". For some performers, the unique fact that the event is unsponsored is very important to character. In an interview with Hellman, Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show said that part of what keeps the event focused on the music and the community is Warren's decision to ensure it is not "consumption driven" and the audience is not "bombarded with signage".Originally Hellman intended only to invite bluegrass musicians. But soon artists from other genres were invited to the event, and in 2004 the word "Hardly" was added to reflect its expanded scope. The festival draws very large crowds, nearly equal in number to the entire population of San Francisco. In 2011, the festival drew an estimated 750,000 people over the course of the three-day event.

Lloyd Lake, also known as Mirror Lake or Kissane Lake, is a clay-lined lake in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, named in memory of Reuben Hedley Lloyd, the park commissioner. It is home to a wide variety of non-native, non-migratory birds. Birds to be found within the lake area include geese, Pekin ducks, Muscovy ducks, Campbell ducks, mallards, gulls and pigeons.
