Sandy Run, South Carolina

William Baker House is a historic home located in Sandy Run, Calhoun County, South Carolina. It was built about 1830, and is a two-story, Classical Revival style frame structure on a high basement. The house features a full-length hipped-roof verandah with a center balcony with pediment. The interior walls feature wainscoting and doors that are marbleized, using the technique of featherpainting. Also on the property are a contributing wooden outbuilding and family cemetery.It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

It also includes most of the South Carolina portions of the Charlotte, North Carolina and Augusta, Georgia metropolitan areas. 839, an all-service overlay, was approved by the South Carolina Public Service Commission in 2019. Area code 803 is one of the original 86 area codes assigned in 1947, when it was assigned to serve the entire state. In 1995, the Upstate was split off into a separate numbering plan area with area code 864. Until then, South Carolina had been one of the most populated states with just one area code. While this was intended as a long-term solution, the rapid growth of telecommunication service in Columbia and the coastal region, forced additional mitigation action for 803 within two years. As a result, in 1998 the coastal region was assigned area code 843. In May 2020, numbering plan area 803 was converted into an overlay plan by adding area code 839 to the plan area. The new area code is used for new subscribers. This implementation made ten-digit dialing mandatory in the numbering plan area as of April 2020. Previously, a permissive ten-digit dialing began in late October 2019.

Hopkins Graded School, also known as Old Hopkins School, is a historic school building located at Hopkins, Richland County, South Carolina. It was built about 1897, as a one-teacher school. It is a rambling, one-story, L-shaped, frame building with weatherboard siding and a gable roof. It features a small square belfry with a pyramidal roof. A new school was constructed across the street about 1914, and the old school was subsequently used as a teacherage.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Hopkins Presbyterian Church, also known as Hopkins Methodist Church, is a historic church building located near the junction of CR 66 and CR 86 in Hopkins, Richland County, South Carolina. It was built about 1891, and is a small, one-story frame building. It was built by a Methodist congregation, and purchased by a Presbyterian congregation in 1919.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
