Hopkins is a census-designated place (CDP) in Richland County, South Carolina, United States. It was founded circa 1836 and named after John Hopkins (1739–1775). It is located 11 miles (18 km) southeast of downtown Columbia and is part of the Columbia Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2010 census, the population of the Hopkins CDP was 2,882.

Hopkins Graded School, also known as Old Hopkins School, is a historic school building located at Hopkins, Richland County, South Carolina. It was built about 1897, as a one-teacher school. It is a rambling, one-story, L-shaped, frame building with weatherboard siding and a gable roof. It features a small square belfry with a pyramidal roof. A new school was constructed across the street about 1914, and the old school was subsequently used as a teacherage.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Hopkins Presbyterian Church, also known as Hopkins Methodist Church, is a historic church building located near the junction of CR 66 and CR 86 in Hopkins, Richland County, South Carolina. It was built about 1891, and is a small, one-story frame building. It was built by a Methodist congregation, and purchased by a Presbyterian congregation in 1919.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Barber House is a historic house located in Hopkins, South Carolina. It was built in 1880 and is significant for its architecture. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Lower Richland High School is a senior high school in unincorporated Richland County, South Carolina, north of, but not inside Hopkins, South Carolina. It is a part of Richland County School District One. It is an International Baccalaureate school. The school serves the town of Eastover and Hopkins.

The Columbia South Carolina Temple is the 62nd operating temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). The temple is located in Hopkins, South Carolina because of its central location within the state. The building is set in a residential neighborhood and surrounded by native loblolly pine and oak trees. The grounds are landscaped with the area's natural flora including myrtle, holly, mums, and dogwood trees. The exterior of the temple is gray granite and features art glass windows. The temple has the traditional lone spire topped by a gold-plated angel Moroni.

Capitol View is an unincorporated part of Richland County, South Carolina, United States, consisting of several neighborhoods that are next to the city of Columbia, the state capital. The area was first listed as a census-designated place (CDP) prior to the 2020 census. In 2020 its population was 4,653.

Horrel Hill is an unincorporated community in Lower Richland County, South Carolina, United States. Situated south of Fort Jackson and northwest of McEntire Joint National Guard Base, it is centered at approximately the intersection of Garner's Ferry Road (U.S. Route 76/378) and Harmon Road/Horrel Hill Road (SC 86). Congaree Road (SC 769) meets Garner's Ferry Road about 120 meters to the east.

Siloam School is a historic school building located at Eastover, Richland County, South Carolina. It was built about 1936, and is a one-story, two-room building built with funds from the Works Progress Administration (WPA). It stands on a brick pier foundation and is clad in shiplap weatherboard siding. It operated as a school for African-American children until 1956.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Magnolia, now known as Wavering Place also previously known as the Francis Tucker Hopkins House, is a historic plantation house located near Gadsden, Richland County, South Carolina. It was built about 1855, and is a two-story, Greek Revival style frame building with a full stuccoed brick basement and weatherboard siding. The front facade features a portico with columns rest on tall stuccoed pedestals. Also on the property are a brick kitchen/office, a frame smokehouse and two one-story frame slave houses.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Hammond School, originally James H. Hammond Academy, is a pre-K through 12 college preparatory private school in Columbia, South Carolina, founded in 1966. The school is an accredited day school with the South Carolina Independent School Association (SAIS) and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). The choir is known for its performance for Pope Francis at the 2017 New Years Day Mass at St. Peter's Basilica. The school, which was founded as a segregation academy, is known for its athletic and academic accomplishments. The school's namesake, James Henry Hammond – a brutal slaveholder known for raping his brother's four daughters as well as his sexual exploitation of enslaved women – has been a source of enduring controversy. The current Hammond School head is Andy North.

William Jennings Bryan Dorn Veterans Affairs Medical Center is a historic hospital complex and national historic district located at Columbia, South Carolina. The district encompasses 19 contributing buildings and a covered walk. Most of the oldest buildings are two- to three-story brick structures and feature a Georgian Colonial Revival architectural style. The original buildings date to 1932, with additional buildings completed in 1937, 1945, and 1946. A major expansion occurred in the 1970s. In 1978, President Jimmy Carter named the hospital after U.S. Representative from South Carolina, William Jennings Bryan Dorn. The complex includes the hospital, recreation, dining, and residential buildings. The complex is operated by the Veterans Health Administration.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
