Bayt Thul

Nataf (Hebrew: נָטָף, lit. Stacte) is a community settlement in central Israel. Located in the Judean Mountains, 12 miles (19 km) west of Jerusalem, it falls under the jurisdiction of Mateh Yehuda Regional Council. In 2021 it had a population of 478.

Neve Ilan (Hebrew: נְוֵה אִילָן, lit. Oasis of Ilan) is a moshav shitufi in central Israel. Located west of Jerusalem, it falls under the jurisdiction of Mateh Yehuda Regional Council. In 2021 it had a population of 996. Previously a kibbutz, it remains a member of the Kibbutz Movement despite its change in status to a moshav.

Nitaf (Arabic: نطاف, Natâf) was a small Palestinian Arab village in the Jerusalem Subdistrict. It was depopulated during the 1947–1948 Civil War in Mandatory Palestine on April 15, 1948, during the second stage of Operation Dani. It was located 17 km west of Jerusalem, just north of Bayt Thul. The Israeli village of Nataf was built in 1982, south of the ruins of Nitaf.

Yad HaShmona (Hebrew: יַד הַשְּׁמוֹנָה, lit. Memorial of the Eight) is a small moshav shitufi in central Israel. Located in the Judean Mountains near Jerusalem, it falls under the jurisdiction of Mateh Yehuda Regional Council. In 2021 it had a population of 294.

Horvat Mazad (Hebrew: חורבת מצד; also known as Khirbet el-Qasr, 'the citadel' in Arabic) is an archaeological site in Israel, located on a strategic hill rising to a height of 530 m above sea level, overlooking the road from Emmaus to Jerusalem. Excavations conducted at the site between 1977 and 1980 revealed a long settlement sequence dating back from the Late Bronze Age to the Mamluk and Ottoman periods.

Saris (Arabic: ساريس) was a Palestinian Arab village that was depopulated during the major offensive launched by the Haganah on 16 April 1948. Called Operation Nachshon, and launched before the British had left Palestine, its objective was to capture villages between Jerusalem and the coastal plain, in order to break to siege of the Jews of Jerusalem.

Sho'eva (Hebrew: שׁוֹאֵבָה) is a moshav in central Israel. Located west of Jerusalem, it falls under the jurisdiction of Mateh Yehuda Regional Council. In 2021 it had a population of 600.

Shoresh (Hebrew: שורש, שֹׁרֶשׁ, lit. Root / source) is a moshav shitufi in central Israel. Located five kilometres from Sha'ar HaGai in the Jerusalem corridor, it falls under the jurisdiction of Mateh Yehuda Regional Council. In 2021 it had a population of 1,176.

The Tel Aviv–Jerusalem bus 405 attack (Hebrew: הפיגוע בקו 405) was a suicide attack which occurred on 6 July 1989, during the First Intifada, and was carried out by Abd al-Hadi Ghanim of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. On a crowded Egged commuter bus line No. 405 en route from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem, Ghanim seized the steering wheel of the bus, running it off a steep cliff into a ravine in the area of Qiryat Ye'arim. 16 civilians—including two Canadians and one American—died in the attack, and 27 were wounded.The incident is described as the first Palestinian suicide attack despite the fact that the attacker survived.

Highway 1 (Hebrew: כביש 1, Kvish Ahat; Arabic: الطريق السريع 1) is the main highway in Israel, connecting Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and continuing eastwards to the Jordan Valley in the West Bank.

Kiryat Ye'arim Youth Village (Hebrew: כפר הנוער קריית יערים, romanized: Kfar HaNoar Kiryat Ye'arim) is a youth village in central Israel. Located near Kiryat Ye'arim and to the north of Abu Ghosh, it falls under the jurisdiction of Mateh Yehuda Regional Council. In 2021 it had a population of 169.

Kiryat Ye'arim (Hebrew: קִרְיַת יְעָרִים), also known as Telz-Stone, is a strictly Orthodox town in the Jerusalem District of Israel. It is located in the approximate area of an ancient place mentioned in the Bible, from which it takes its name. It is bordered on one side by the Muslim Arab village of Abu Ghosh, and on the other side by the secular Jewish community of Neve Ilan. In 2021 it had a population of 6,471.
