Horvat Mazad (Hebrew: חורבת מצד; also known as Khirbet el-Qasr, 'the citadel' in Arabic) is an archaeological site in Israel, located on a strategic hill rising to a height of 530 m above sea level, overlooking the road from Emmaus to Jerusalem. Excavations conducted at the site between 1977 and 1980 revealed a long settlement sequence dating back from the Late Bronze Age to the Mamluk and Ottoman periods.

Sha'ar HaGai (Hebrew: שער הגיא) in Hebrew, a name literally translated from Bab al-Wad or Bab al-Wadi in Arabic (Hebrew: באב אל-ואד, Arabic: باب الواد or باب الوادي), meaning Gate of the Valley, is a point on the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem highway, 23 km from Jerusalem, where the road begins to ascend through a deep valley flanked by steep rocky slopes, of the intermittent Nahshon Stream, or Wadi Ali in Arabic.

HaMasrek Reserve (Hebrew: שְׁמוּרַת הַמַּסְרֵק) is a nature reserve situated in the western Jerusalem Mountains, Israel, near moshav Beit Meir.HaMasrek Reserve is renowned and named for its prominent stand of Jerusalem pine trees, which are approximately 170 years old. It features several scenic viewpoints which offer panoramic views encompassing the coastal plain stretching from Netanya to Ashkelon, the Ayalon Valley, and the historic Burma Road. Additionally, they provide vistas of the southwestern Samarian mountains including the Gophna and Bethel ridges, as well as the upper and central basin of the adjacent Kesalon stream.HaMasrek Reserve offers walking paths, parking facilities, rest areas for relaxation, and drinking fountains for refreshment. Notably, camping and picnicking activities are restricted within the reserve to preserve its natural environment. For those wishing to visit the HaMasrek Reserve, access is facilitated by traveling along Road No. 3955, which leads from Shoava Crossing to Beit Meir.

Yeshivat Ohr Yerushalayim (ישיבת אור ירושלים) is an American yeshiva for the study of Torah. It caters to English-speaking students spending a year in Israel after high school. It is located on Moshav Beit Meir, 9 miles (14 km) west of Jerusalem. During the summer, the yeshiva houses the NCSY summer kollel program.

Beit Meir (Hebrew: בֵּית מֵאִיר, lit. House of Meir) is a religious moshav in central Israel. Located in the Jerusalem hills around nine miles from Jerusalem, just off the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv highway, it falls under the jurisdiction of Mateh Yehuda Regional Council. In 2021 it had a population of 818.

Bayt Mahsir (Arabic: بيت محسير) was a Palestinian Arab village in the Jerusalem Subdistrict. It was depopulated during the 1947–48 Civil War in Mandatory Palestine on May 10, 1948, by the Harel Brigade of Operation Makkabi. It was located 9 km west of Jerusalem.

Shoresh (Hebrew: שורש, שֹׁרֶשׁ, lit. Root / source) is a moshav shitufi in central Israel. Located five kilometres from Sha'ar HaGai in the Jerusalem corridor, it falls under the jurisdiction of Mateh Yehuda Regional Council. In 2021 it had a population of 1,176.

Kasla was a Palestinian village in the Jerusalem Subdistrict. It was depopulated during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War on July 17, 1948, by the Harel Brigade of Operation Dani. It was located 17 km west of Jerusalem.

Bayt Thul was a Palestinian village in the Jerusalem Subdistrict. It was depopulated during the 1947–1948 Civil War in Mandatory Palestine on April 1, 1948, under Operation Nachshon. It was located 15.5 km west of Jerusalem.

Saris (Arabic: ساريس) was a Palestinian Arab village that was depopulated during the major offensive launched by the Haganah on 16 April 1948. Called Operation Nachshon, and launched before the British had left Palestine, its objective was to capture villages between Jerusalem and the coastal plain, in order to break to siege of the Jews of Jerusalem.

Nataf (Hebrew: נָטָף, lit. Stacte) is a community settlement in central Israel. Located in the Judean Mountains, 12 miles (19 km) west of Jerusalem, it falls under the jurisdiction of Mateh Yehuda Regional Council. In 2021 it had a population of 478.

Dayr Ayyub (Arabic: دير أيوب) was a Palestinian Arab village in the Ramle Subdistrict. It was depopulated during the 1947–48 Civil War in Mandatory Palestine on March 6, 1948 by the Givati and Sheva' brigades of Operation Nachshon. It was located 17.5 km southeast of Ramla, situated close to Bab al-Wad. On attack, the village was defended by the Jordanian Army but was mostly destroyed with the exception of a few houses and the village cemetery.
