Kastelle Priory

Kungahälla (Norwegian: Konghelle, Old Norse: Konungahella) was a medieval settlement in southern Bohuslän at a site which is located in Kungälv Municipality in Västra Götaland County in Sweden. It is the site of the former fortification at Ragnhildsholmen (Borgen på Ragnhildsholmen).

It had 22,768 inhabitants in 2010. In 2021, the main Kungälv - Ytterby - Kareby conurbation had a combined population approaching 30,000.

Kungälv Municipality (Kungälvs kommun) is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Kungälv. It is the 50th largest municipality in Sweden by population size. The present municipality was formed in 1971 through the amalgamation of the City of Kungälv, the City of Marstrand and territories belonging to four rural municipalities. In 1974 a minor part (situated on the island of Hisingen) was transferred to Gothenburg Municipality.

Kungälv resecentrum is Kungälv's primary bus station, operated by Västtrafik. It serves as the city's main public transit link. The station is located just next to the E6 highway, connecting Kungälv to many other cities.The station underwent a major reconstruction at a cost of 50 million Swedish kronor. Construction started in 2016 and went on for about two years with opening ceremony on April 29, 2018. The 800 m2 station has a two-floor waiting hall, free wifi, and coffee shops.

Skarpe Nord is an ice skating rink in Kungälv. It is the home of IFK Kungälv, Kareby IS, and Kungälvs SK. It is open to the public in the winter, when it is cold and there is ice on the rink.

On 4 March 1961, a mass shooting occurred at Thorild School in central Kungälv, Västra Götaland, Sweden, in which a gunman shot and killed one person, Per Håkan Altvall, and injured six others. It was the first reported school shooting in Sweden and one of the earliest in Europe. The memory of the murdered Per Håkan Altvall is kept alive in Kungälv via a stipend "awarded annually to one or a number of students known for good friendship and social support to students".

The Säve Church (Swedish: Säve kyrka) is a medieval church in Gothenburg. It is located on the Hisingen island and belongs to the parish of Tuve-Säve. It belonged to the Säve parish until 2010, when the parishes of Tuve, Säve and Rödbo were merged. The church was erected in the early 13th century. It was first known as St. Olaf Church, after the saintly king Olaf II of Norway. The nave has a barrel vault, built in 1696. In 1704, the ceiling was covered with paintings by German artist Christian von Schönfeldt. In 1729, a cupola was built over the choir, painted by Johan Ross. The paintings depict scenes from both the New and the Old Testament. The porch was built in 1746, and the wooden tower above it was erected in 1750. The choir got its stained glass window in 1902. In 1945, the brick roof of the nave was replaced with slate.

Mysterna is a locality situated in Göteborg Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 3,418 inhabitants in 2010.
