Pater Noster is a Swedish lighthouse and the name of a small archipelago in Bohuslän on the Swedish west coast.

SS Westfalen was a German ship launched on 14 November 1905 at Joh. C. Tecklenborg in Geestemünde (today Bremerhaven).In the early 1930s Westfalen was converted into a seaplane tender to serve as a weather reporting and refueling station for Dornier Wal flying boats of Deutsche Luft Hansa carrying mail across the Atlantic between Europe and South America. The conversion of the Westfalen consisted of a large retractable stern mounted canvas drag apron for the flying boat to taxi on (i.e. for use in heavy seas and so the ship did not have to come to dead stop), cranes to lift the flying boats out of the water to be refueled and serviced, and a large compressed air catapult for launching the aircraft. When in operation, Westfalen cruised 900 miles in the middle of the South Atlantic between Bathhurst, Gambia (now Banjul) and Pernambuco, Brazil. The first test trans-Atlantic flights by Lufthansa Wals began in 1933 and the first commercial mail flights in 1934.

Klädesholmen is an island and village in Tjörn Municipality, Bohuslän, Sweden. The urban area, with 385 inhabitants in 2010, located on two small islands, Klädesholmen and Koholmen, is connected to Tjörn via a bridge to Bleket. The islands were formerly crown islets, where fishermen had the right to settle.

Carlsten (Swedish: Karlstens fästning) is a stone fortress located at Marstrand, on the western coast of Sweden. The fortress was built on the orders of King Carl X of Sweden following the Treaty of Roskilde, 1658 to protect the newly acquired province of Bohuslän from hostile attacks. The site of Marstrand was chosen because of its location and its access to an ice free port. The fortress was decommissioned as a permanent defense installation in 1882, but remained in military use until the early 1990s.

Following the abolishment of the free port status and the decline of herring fishing, Marstrand established itself as a seaside resort in the 19th century.Important annual sporting events held in Marstrand include the Stena Match Cup Sweden and Marstrand Regatta. Marstrand is known as a playground for celebrities and wealthy Swedish residents alike, who come in the summer for the sea, shopping and the nightlife.

Rönnäng is a locality situated in Tjörn Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden with 1,437 inhabitants in 2010. It lies on the south peak of the island Tjörn in Sweden.

The Nordic Watercolour Museum (Swedish: Nordiska Akvarellmuseet) is a museum, artist workshop and research facility in Skärhamn on the island of Tjörn in Sweden, opened in 2000. The architects behind the museum, painted in the typical Swedish Falu red colour, are the Danes Niels Bruun and Henrik Corfitsen, who won the assignment after an international competition. An extension built in 2012 was designed by Anders Tengbom. The museum was Swedish Museum of the Year in 2010, and in 2011 it and the newspaper Göteborgs-Posten won the 2010 Swedish Arts and Business Awards for their marketing collaboration. In 2015 it celebrated its fifteenth anniversary and started a new book series, Vattenkonst Nordiska Akvarellmuseet.
