St Andrew's Church, Chew Magna

The Old School Room in Chew Magna, Somerset, England was built around 1510. It is a Grade II* listed building.It was built as a church house for the neighbouring Church of St Andrew. The upstairs room was the local school from the mid or early 15th century, with the village poorhouse below. The ground floor was divided into cubicles which housed the destitute and occasionally prisoners. It also served as the meeting place of the Court leet. The building was declared unsafe in 1965. In 1971 the building underwent major renovation, which included replacement of oak beams supporting the upper floor were replaced and preservation work on the wooden roof carried out. The building was then used as a youth club until it was purchased by the parish council in 1981 as a village hall. Since then it has been a venue for social activity in the village.

Chew Court is a Grade II* listed building next to St Andrew's church in Chew Magna, Somerset, England.It was originally a palace for Gisa the Bishop of Bath and Wells, however little of the original building survives. After use by a succession of bishops it was sold to the Duke of Somerset. The oldest portion is the gatehouse at the southern end of the east wing.The house was largely rebuilt in 1656, from which a little survives as the Chew Court of today including an Elizabethan doorway with Doric pilasters. The room over the gatehouse is said to have been used as a court-room, with the turrets used for holding prisoners. The house now forms an "l" shape of two wings.In 2011 alterations were made to the driveway leading to the house and additional walls built around the gardens.About 45 metres (148 ft) south west of the building is a medieval well, which was later enclosed with a sandstone well house.

Chew Magna is a village and civil parish within the Chew Valley in the unitary authority of Bath and North East Somerset, in the ceremonial county of Somerset, England. The parish has a population of 1,149.To the south of the village is Chew Valley Lake. The village is on the B3130 road, about 10 miles (16 km) from Bristol, 15 miles (24 km) from Bath, 13 miles (21 km) from the city of Wells, and 6 miles (10 km) from Bristol Airport. The village is close to the northern edge of the Mendip Hills (a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), and was designated a conservation area in 1978. There are many listed buildings reflecting the history of the village. The River Chew flows through the village. Just outside the village is Chew Magna Reservoir: this small Bristol Water supply reservoir intercepts the Winford Brook. There is one primary school, and an adjacent secondary school, several shops and small businesses, three churches, and three pubs serving the area. There is also a football pitch and children's play area. The village frequently wins regional categories in the Calor Village of the Year competition, and is currently moving towards zero waste status, having been described as "probably the greenest parish in Britain".

The Manor House in Chew Magna, Somerset, England, was a country house built in the middle of the 17th century. It was the principal residence of the Adlam family from the mid-1800s until 1940. The house is a Grade II* listed building and formed part of the Sacred Heart Convent School. It has now been redeveloped and returned to residential use.

Chew Valley School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form situated within the Chew Valley in Somerset in South West England. It is 8 miles (13 km) south of Bristol in the village of Chew Stoke, on a 30-acre (12 ha) site in open countryside overlooking the Chew Valley Lake. It is the only secondary school in the Chew Valley area, providing further education to local children, from various local primary schools, and some pupils who live outside the catchment area. As of 2015, the school had over 1,160 pupils, including 186 in the Sixth Form.

Chew Magna Reservoir is a 5-acre (2 ha) reservoir on the western outskirts of the village of Chew Magna, Somerset, England. It lies just north of the B3130 Winford Road. The reservoir was created by damming Winford brook in order to supply water for villages in the Chew Valley. It is owned and managed by Bristol Water. Chew Magna reservoir provides fly fishing for stocked brown trout (Salmo trutta morpha fario) and rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). Rainbows can be fished all year. Parking is close to the lake and there are many stagings erected around the lake. In 2011 the reservoir emptied following a long period without sustained rainfall. Bristol Water rescued the trout and transferred them to the nearby Chew Valley Lake.

Knowle Hill (grid reference ST583613) is a hill in the Chew Valley, Somerset, England situated between the village of Chew Magna and Chew Valley Lake. The south side of the summit of Knowle Hill is home to the grass Wood Small-reed (Calamagrostis epigejos). The population of this plant forms a circular patch some 20 metres wide, which is visible from Bishop Sutton 1.2 km south across Hollow Brook. It has been suggested that this patch is a single clone which has spread by means of underground rhizomes, and may be 200 years old.The hill is declared open access land under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 and is on the route of the Chew Valley Three Peaks walk, and the Two Rivers Way.

Dundry Main Road South Quarry (grid reference ST566654) is a 0.7 hectare geological Site of Special Scientific Interest near the village of East Dundry, North Somerset, notified in 1974. The quarry was cited in the 19th century by d'Orbigny as the English "type section" for the Inferior Oolite. Dundry has long been a famous palaeontological and stratigraphic locality. The type locality for many species of molluscs and brachiopods, as well as other lesser groups, it is renowned as one of the world's most fossiliferous exposures with well over two hundred species recorded. The Main Road Quarry exposes a fine section in the Middle and Upper Inferior Oolite, with the rocks lying stratigraphically below them visible at Barns Batch Spinney. The former characterised by a typically southern English-Normandy fauna, including the rich ammonite occurrences of the "Brown iron-shot", and the latter by contrasting faunas of Cotswold aspect. This contrast is direct evidence for movements of the Mendip Axis in Middle Jurassic times, making this an outstanding site for its bearing on studies of palaeogeography.

East Dundry is a south-facing hamlet some 160 metres above sea level in a sheltered valley of Dundry Hill just south of Bristol, England. The hamlet is in the parish of Dundry and about two kilometres east of its village church. The iron-age Maes Knoll tump (2.5 kilometres to the east) and tumuli (in the field just north-east of North Hill Farm) are evidence of long occupation of the valley.

The Pagans Hill Roman Temple was a Romano-British-style temple (Romano-Celtic temple) excavated on Pagans Hill at Chew Stoke in the English county of Somerset.

The Rectory in Chew Stoke, Somerset, England was built in 1529. It is a Grade II* listed building.It was built in 1529 for Sir John Barry, who was the rector between 1524 and 1546 of the nearby St Andrew's Church. It has undergone substantial renovations including the addition of a clock tower for the Rev. W.P. Wait, which has since been removed and further alterations c.1876 for Rev. J. Ellershaw. The building has an ornate south front with carvings of shields bearing the coat of arms of the St Loe family, who were once chief landowners in the area, alone or impaled with arms of Fitzpane, Ancell, de la Rivere and Malet. Towards the end of the 18th century a new rectory was built in the village and this building became a private house. In 1945 it started to be used again as the rectory. It was sold by the church in 2008 and is now a private dwelling again.

The Round House (also known as The Toll House) at Stanton Drew in the English county of Somerset was built in the 18th century. It has been designated as a Grade II listed building.The two-storey thatched building is hexagonal in plan. It is on the road between Chew Magna and Pensford and close to the bridge over the River Chew. It was built around 1793 by the West Harptree Turnpike Trust and served as a toll house when turnpikes were in use. A pouch hung on a hook over the door was used by coach drivers to pay the toll.In the 1850s it was home to the Burridge family who acted as the toll collectors until the Turnpike Trust was abolished in 1876. From 1896 to the 1940s was lived in by Frederick Rich. It was still occupied in 2012.On the ground floor are a kitchen and shower room, and there is a bedroom on the first floor. The total living space is 24 square meters.
