Queenstown Road is a railway station in inner south-west London, 2 miles 50 chains (4.2 km) south-west of London Waterloo, between Vauxhall and Clapham Junction. It is a short walk from Battersea Park station and Battersea Park to the west. It has three platforms, two of which are in use by all stopping services related to the Waterloo to Reading Line: its branch services to Weybridge (via Hounslow) and two separate sets of bidirectional Waterloo-to-Waterloo services via Hounslow using the Hounslow Loop and via Kingston using the Kingston Loop. In additional 50% of maximum peak hour trains serving the Shepperton branch line call at the station.

The Mason's Arms is a pub on Battersea Park Road, Battersea, London SW8, situated opposite Battersea Park Railway Station. It is a Grade II listed building, built in the mid-19th century. In October 2019 it reopened following a major refurbishment.

The Battersea Park rail crash occurred on 2 April 1937, just south of Battersea Park railway station on the Southern Railway, in London. Two electrically driven passenger trains collided on the Up Local line; the second train, from Coulsdon North to Victoria, had been allowed into the section while it was still occupied by the first train, from London Bridge to Victoria. The signalman at Battersea Park, G. F. Childs, believing there was a fault with the Sykes electromechanical interlocking apparatus which was installed at the box, had opened up the case of the instrument and inadvertently cleared the interlock which should have prevented this situation. The official enquiry ruled that he subsequently accepted the Coulsdon train, although he should have been aware that the London Bridge train had not cleared the section. Ten people were killed, including the guard of the London Bridge train, and eighty people were injured, seven sustaining serious injuries. Another accident had occurred at Battersea Park in 1881.

Newton Preparatory School is located in Battersea, South London. It opened in September, 1991 with 70 pupils. The founder is Dr Farouk Walji. Newton Prep has over 600 pupils. It accepts pupils aged 3 to 13, from nursery until year 8.Since its foundation, the school has always specialised in providing for children of high ability. The original headmaster, Jim Cussell, formerly headmaster of Moreton Hall School, Shropshire, left after two years to set up the rival Octagon School which subsequently closed in 1997. The subsequent headmaster, Richard Dell, headmaster between 1993 and 2006, had interests in spirituality and healing and self-published a book in relation to this. The headmaster from 2006 to 2013 was Nicholas Allen. He was previously head of Ipswich Preparatory School and Arnold House School. The current headmistress, Alison Fleming, was appointed in 2013. The school has three main segments: the Apple Nursery (age 3 to 4), Lower School (reception to year 2) and Upper School (year 3 to year 8).The school is based in an Edwardian building, formerly occupied by Clapham College, Raywood Street School and Notre Dame School. The original building has been extended and renovated, most recently in 2013. The facilities include a 300-seat auditorium opened by Sir Peter Hall, a library with a full-time librarian, an astro-turf sports pitch, and two gymnasiums.The Newton Scholarship Fund (NSF) is a registered charity that offers means-tested bursaries to support children of scholarship ability.

Stewarts Lane is a large railway-servicing facility in Battersea in London, England, founded by the London Chatham and Dover Railway (LCDR) in 1862, to serve London Victoria railway station. It is sited in the midst of a maze of railway lines between 'Factory Junction' and 'Stewarts Lane Junction', adjacent to the site of the former Longhedge Railway Works and the Stewarts Lane Chord formerly used by Eurostar trains from the Kent freight lines to Waterloo International station. Prior to 1962 it was one of the largest motive power depots in the UK. Following the end of steam traction in the early 1960s it was converted into a traction maintenance depot which is currently operated by Govia Thameslink Railway.

Longhedge railway works was a locomotive and carriage works built by the London, Chatham and Dover Railway in the borough of Battersea, South London to serve their new London terminus at Victoria. The facility existed between 1862 until the mid-1950s.

Battersea Park is a suburban railway station in the London Borough of Wandsworth, south London. It is at the junction of the South London Line and the Brighton Main Line (although the physical connection between the lines has been removed), 1 mile 23 chains (2.1 km) measured from London Victoria. It is close to Battersea Park, and not far from Battersea Power Station. It is also a short walking distance from Queenstown Road (Battersea) station. The station now has an out of station interchange (OSI) with the new Battersea Power Station tube station on the newly opened Northern line extension to Battersea, part of the London Underground.

Battersea Park Road railway station in Battersea, South London was opened by the London, Chatham and Dover Railway in 1867. It closed in 1916 along with other inner-London stations on Main Line. Battersea Park railway station, nearby on a different line from London Victoria, remains open. There is no evidence of the station at rail level, but the bricked-up entrance can be seen under the rail bridge close to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, now known as Battersea, is an animal rescue centre for dogs and cats. Battersea rescues dogs and cats until an owner or a new one can be found. It is one of the UK's oldest and best known animal rescue centres. It was established in Holloway, London, in 1860 and moved to Battersea in 1871. The non-Government funded organisation cares for an average of 240 dogs and 145 cats across all three centres at any one time. The charity has cared for more than 3.1 million dogs and cats over its history.

Stewarts Lane was the name of two separate railway stations. The first station, opened by the West End of London and Crystal Palace Railway, was originally located between what is now Clapham Junction and Pimlico. It was opened on 29 May 1858 and closed on 1 December 1858.The second station was later used by the London, Chatham and Dover Railway and located between Victoria and Wandsworth Road. This station was opened on 1 May 1863 and closed on 1 January 1867. It was located south of the previous station.

Riverside Radio is a local radio station based in Battersea, London, which broadcasts local news, sports, music and specialist shows. Its main audience is based in South West London.

Marco Polo House (originally stylised as "Marcopolo") was a large marble-effect, glass-clad office building and TV studio at 346 Queenstown Road, facing Battersea Park in the London Borough of Wandsworth. It was built in 1987–1988 and completed in 1989 by Peter Argyrou Associates, to a design by postmodernist architect and developer Ian Pollard through his property development company, Flaxyard, and initially used by British Satellite Broadcasting. The building was demolished in 2014.
