The Robert O. Wilder Building, previously known as the John W. Boddie House and then the Tougaloo Mansion House, is a historic plantation mansion on the campus of Tougaloo College in Tougaloo, Mississippi.

Callaway High School is a public high school located in Jackson, Mississippi, United States. The principal of Callaway High School is Shemeka Sutton-McClung.Built in 1966 on approximately twenty acres in North Jackson, Callaway was named after former educator and community activist Robert M. A community hub and destination, Northpark recently completed a multi-million dollar redevelopment fusing Southern charm with modern reinvention. The mall also has a cinema located in the back of the mall, originally a 10-screen operation, which later expanded to a 14-screen state-of-the-art setup under Regal Entertainment Group's United Artists Theatres brand, but was sold in September 2018 and closed in early 2019. The cinema reopened in 2020 after extensive renovations with B&B Theatres. The anchor stores currently are JCPenney, 2 Dillard's stores, and Belk.The mall was built by Cadillac Fairview, who sold it to Mills Corporation in 2003.Northpark's initial success took most of the remaining business from the struggling Jackson Mall, south of the Madison-Hinds county line in North Jackson, which had opened in 1969 with three anchors. JCPenney and Gayfers were two, both relocating to Northpark in 1985, while Woolco closed prior to Northpark's opening. Jackson Mall has since been redeveloped as a medical mall, providing health care for the inner city urban poor. Theories exist that the mall's success, taking away from the draw of the Metrocenter Mall in west Jackson opened just over six years earlier and considered to be the largest shopping mall in Mississippi and no great draw to replace it, greatly helped lead to the decline of south and west Jackson over the next few decades.Northpark’s current direct competitor is the Renaissance at Colony Park, an old world Mediterranean influenced lifestyle center also located in Ridgeland. When the Renaissance opened in March 2008, prominent tenants located in Northpark, including Ann Taylor Loft, Williams-Sonoma, American Eagle, Buckle, and others relocated from Northpark to the Renaissance. Northpark’s former direct competition was Metrocenter Mall, closed in 2018, and the Outlets of Mississippi in nearby Pearl just south of the city by the intersection of I-55 & I-20. This shopping center was completed in 2013. Other competitors include Dogwood Festival Market and Market Street Flowood, which are across from each other at Lakeland Drive (MS 25) and East Metro Parkway in nearby Flowood.In the midst of a volatile local market, a downturn came at Metrocenter in April 1999 when its Gayfers anchor closed due to the Dillard's buyout of Gayfers' parent company, Mercantile Stores. Another blow came in 2004 when Dillard's announced they were closing its Metrocenter location, and consolidating operations to its Northpark locations — anchor spaces at the ends of the mall's north and south wings, acquired via D.H. Holmes and Gayfers. A third anchor conversion came in March 2006, as all McRae's stores, including the stores at Northpark and Metrocenter, were rebranded by Belk. Both the McRae's and Proffitt's chains had been purchased by Belk in late 2005. Belk at Metrocenter closed in August 2009. This boosted patronage at the Northpark and Dogwood Festival Market locations.

St. Andrew's Episcopal School is an independent, coeducational, preparatory day school in Ridgeland, Mississippi serving more than 1,100 students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. Founded in 1947, the school occupies two campuses: the South Campus houses the Lower School (pre-kindergarten through grade 4) in Jackson, and the North Campus houses the Middle School (grades 5-8) and Upper School (grades 9-12) in Ridgeland. The School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), belongs to the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and the National Association of Episcopal Schools (NAES), and is affiliated with the Mississippi High School Activities Association. The School also holds ties with St. Andrew's Episcopal Cathedral in Jackson. St. Andrew’s is the only school in Mississippi and one of only 50 schools nationwide to receive a $2 million Malone Family Foundation grant to create scholarships for academically gifted students with financial need.

WJDX (620 kHz) is an AM radio station licensed to serve Jackson, Mississippi. The station is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. (formerly Clear Channel Communications until September 2014) and licensed to iHM Licenses, LLC. It airs a news/talk/sports radio format. Mississippi Sports This Morning, which is now airing on WJQS, was the station's flagship local program. It aired during WJDX's morning drive slot without interruption from 1998 to 2020. It was hosted by Doug Colson and Jay White. It was the longest-running daily sports talk program in Mississippi radio history. WJDX also serves as the Jackson home for the New Orleans Saints and NASCAR. The station was assigned the current callsign WJDX by the Federal Communications Commission on October 9, 1998. According to the FCC, the call letters were WJDS from July 6, 1990 to October 8, 1998. Prior to July 6, 1990, the call letters were WJDX since its inception. On October 3, 2011, WJDX’s format was changed to news/talk. In the 1970s and early 1980s, WJDX was a successful Top 40 music station. Prior to that, the station had been a conservative MOR music outlet.

Woodland Hills Academy was a private high school in Jackson, Mississippi, established in 1969 when the Jackson School Board was ordered to desegregate following the landmark Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court ruling. Woodland Hills was one of many private schools formed in Mississippi. In 1963, there were 17 private schools in the state; by 1970 there were 236.When the school opened in 1970, the Mississippi state Textbook Department illegally supplied books to the academy.Jackson, Mississippi was the home of the single largest sponsor of private segregated schools (segregation academies) in the United States, the Citizens' CouncilThe campus site known variously as 401 Sheppard Road and 5055 Manhattan Road was the site of Council Manhattan High School (1966-1983). Woodland Hills Baptist Academy took over the site. Across the street was 5055 Manhattan Road, apparently the site of Council Manhattan High School (1966-1983). Both facilities were abandoned by 2008.

The Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame, headquartered in Clinton, Mississippi, honors Mississippi's famous musicians. It is a "Who's Who" of the blues, rock and roll, and jazz from their beginnings to present day. The organization's museum is located in the Jackson–Evers International Airport in Jackson, Mississippi.

Ridgeland is a city in Madison County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 24,340 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Jackson, Mississippi metropolitan area.

Beth Israel Congregation (Hebrew: בית ישראל) is a Reform Jewish congregation located at 5315 Old Canton Road in Jackson, Mississippi, United States. Organized in 1860 by Jews of German background, it has always been, and remains, the only Jewish synagogue in Jackson. Beth Israel built the first synagogue in Mississippi in 1867, and, after it burned down, its 1874 replacement was at one time the oldest religious building in Jackson.Originally Orthodox, the congregation joined the Union of American Hebrew Congregations in 1874. After going through a series of rabbis, and periods without one, the congregation hired Meyer Lovitt as rabbi in 1929; he would remain until 1954. The congregation moved to a new building in 1941.Dr. Perry Nussbaum, Beth Israel's rabbi from 1954 to 1973, was active in the Civil Rights Movement. In 1967 the congregation moved to a new synagogue building, (its current one), and both the new building and Nussbaum's house were bombed by the Ku Klux Klan that year. In 2003, Valerie Cohen became the congregation's first female rabbi.Rabbi Rosen began at Beth Israel Congregation in July 2019. With a growing membership of over 200 families, Beth Israel was the largest Jewish congregation in the state.
