Banneker High School (Georgia)

Feldwood High School was a public high school in unincorporated Fulton County, Georgia, United States. It was a part of the Fulton County School System. The school opened in the fall of 1976 as a result of growth and split class sessions at M.D. Collins High School. In recognition of the bicentennial year, the colors selected for the school were red, white, and blue. In 1988 the school closed and combined again with M.D. Collins High School to form Banneker High School (Georgia) on the Feldwood campus. The merger happened as a result of a consolidation plan to reduce the costs of the school system, comply with new state laws mandating minimum attendance numbers for government funded schools, and upgrade course offerings within all schools in the county. In addition to serving some unincorporated areas, it also served sections of the city of College Park.

Union Station was a shopping mall in Union City, Georgia, in southwest Metro Atlanta adjacent to Interstate 85. Originally "Shannon Mall", it opened in 1980 and initially thrived until the 1990s when growth in neighboring cities drew shoppers away from the mall. After new ownership and renovations in 2006, the name was changed from "Shannon Mall" to "Union Station Mall" in 2006. After many years of decline, the mall closed in November 2010, and demolition began in late October 2014 to make way for a movie studio.

Red Oak is an area in the City of South Fulton, Fulton County, Georgia, United States, near College Park and East Point. The ZIP Code is 30272 and 30349 The region is located along U.S. Route 29 and the Georgia State Route 14 Connector to Interstate 85 and 285. The former terminus of SR 14 Connector is in the vicinity of post office destroyed during a civil war battle in 1864.Through its history the community of Red Oak has never been incorporated as a town, but a post office was built in 1849. Its first postmaster was the Reverend William “Harrison” Walker (1809-1879), a Baptist minister, who came to Fayette County with his father, Levi Loudy Walker (1784-1860), and shows up on the first Fayette County census in 1830. Levi's property adjoined his son's and another son – Redmond – lived close by.As was the custom the Red Oak post office was established on the property of the postmaster. Rev. Walker's home was in District 9, Land Lot 128 of Fayette County. On one of the early deeds to his property the Atlanta and West Point Railroad can be clearly seen crossing the property. Local stories state a red oak tree stood at the postal stop giving the community its name – Red Oak. Today, a Georgia Historical Society marker stands at the intersection of Welcome All Road and U.S. 29/Roosevelt Highway. The marker verifies the existence of the Red Oak post office which was discontinued following the Civil War. Decades later another post office at Red Oak would be re-established and continues to this day. In 2020, Red Oak was named one of the Historic Main Street Districts in the City of South Fulton.

College Park is a city in Fulton and Clayton counties, Georgia, United States, adjacent to the southern boundary of the city of Atlanta. As of the 2020 census, the population was 13,930. Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport is partially located in the city's boundaries (including the domestic terminal, Concourse T, Concourse A, and about two-thirds of Concourse B), and the Georgia International Convention Center, owned and operated by the City of College Park, is within the city limits. The city is home to the fourth-largest urban historical district registered with the National Register of Historic Places in the state of Georgia. The city is also home to the Gateway Center Arena, home of the College Park Skyhawks and Atlanta Dream.

The Campbell County Courthouse in Fairburn, Georgia, also known as the Old Campbell County Courthouse, is a Greek Revival brick building that was built in 1871. It was the courthouse for the defunct Campbell County, Georgia, until it merged into Fulton County in 1932.It is significant in part for being a very late example of 19th-century high classical style in Georgia, as it was built just six years after the American Civil War. During that period there was little construction at all, and continuing construction followed eclectic styles rather than the "purely classical forms" executed in this courthouse's design.: 4–5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Campbell County was a county of the U.S. state of Georgia from 1828 (1828) to 1931 (1931). It was created by the state legislature on December 20, 1828, from land taken from Fayette, Coweta, and Carroll counties, and from the half of DeKalb County which became Fulton County soon afterward. Georgia's Cherokee Land Lottery of 1832 also added to the county. The county was named for Duncan G. Campbell, one of the U.S. commissioners responsible for the Treaty of Indian Springs.The original county seat was Campbellton. When the Atlanta & West Point Railroad began to plan its route, the town's residents said no due to noise concerns, and the tracks were laid through Fairburn instead, which flourished while Campbellton died out, and Fairburn became the county seat in 1870. The Campbell County Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The northwestern half of Campbell (and a bit more of Carroll) became Douglas County in 1870, divided on October 17 at the Chattahoochee River. The remainder of Campbell County was ceded to Fulton County at the end of 1931, along with Milton County, after Campbell County went bankrupt. The legislation creating the merger was enacted on August 9, 1929, with Milton being added to the process in 1931.

Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School is a private, Catholic high school in Fayetteville, Georgia, United States. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta. It is a Catholic college-preparatory high school located and one of several schools established by Archbishop John F. Donoghue. Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School opened to freshman and sophomore classes in August 2000. OLM is fully accredited through District-Wide Accreditation of The Office of Catholic Schools. Gateway Center Arena at College Park is a 100,000 square foot (9,290 m2) multi-purpose arena in College Park, Georgia. It is the home venue of the College Park Skyhawks of the NBA G League and the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association.The arena's first public event was an open house on November 9, 2019, while the Skyhawks' first game at the arena took place on November 21.

North Clayton High School is a four-year public high school located in College Park, Georgia, United States. It is part of the Clayton County Public Schools. The school was created in 1937 as Flat Rock School, serving 44 students in grades 8–10 with eight teachers. Grades 11 and 12 were added the following year, and the school was given its current name.North Clayton is one of two high schools in Clayton County that offer the International Baccalaureate Organization program to excelling students. North Clayton has been an IB World School since May 2006. Students receive the IB Diploma Programme after passing a series of vigorous examinations such as IB Math, IB History, and IB foreign languages.
