Gateway Center Arena

The Georgia International Convention Center or GICC, opened in April 2003, is the second largest convention center in the U.S. state of Georgia, the largest being the Georgia World Congress Center. It is located at 2000 Convention Center Concourse, just off Camp Creek Parkway (S.R. 6) and Roosevelt Highway (U.S. 29) in College Park. The Convention Center is accessible from the Airport MARTA station (via a connection to the ATL Skytrain), Interstate 285, and Interstate 85. It has a number of exhibit halls, meeting rooms and ballrooms that can be rented. Behind the Convention Center, the Atlanta Airport people-mover called ATL Skytrain, connects airport patrons with the new rental car complex, four hotel accommodations, and restaurants at the Gateway Center of the Georgia International Convention Center. It is connected via ATL Skytrain. In 2016, it was to be the home to the Atlanta Vultures of American Indoor Football but they never played a home game due to turf issues. On November 10, 2016, the Atlanta Hawks announced it had purchased an expansion team to play in the NBA Development League with the intentions of building a new 3,500-seat arena at the Gateway Center to be its home for the 2019–20 season. The expansion team then began play in 2017 as the Erie BayHawks in Erie, Pennsylvania, while the arena was being finished.On November 8, 2019, the Gateway Center Arena officially opened. The Gateway Center Arena will be home to the WNBA's Atlanta Dream for the 2020 season as well as the NBA G League team the College Park Skyhawks.

Eva L. Thomas High School was a high school for African Americans in College Park, Georgia established in 1964, and closed in 1969. It was named after Atlanta Public Schools educator Eva Louise Thomas, who died less than a year before the school opened. In 1969, the local Board of Education decided to close the school after pressure from the federal government to desegregate, which was met with protests by students and parents. Students moved to schools nearby for the 1970 school year, including the previously all-white College Park High School. The site was repurposed as a middle school until 1980, and currently houses the College Park Elementary School. The school's basketball team, the Bearcats, won a state championship in 1969. Donald Dollar was the coach. The team competed in the Georgia Interscholastic Association. A report was published on identifying students with special needs at the school in 1965.

College Park is a train station in College Park, Georgia, United States, serving the Red and Gold lines of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) rail system. It opened on June 18, 1988. This station mainly serves College Park and surrounding areas, including Morrow, Riverdale, Clayton County, and South Fulton. An interesting feature of this station is that the platform is narrower at the north end and wider at the south end, presumably to allow room for the yard leads just south of the station. The narrowing of the platform is most apparent at the north end of the platform.In 2013, College Station had 9,026 average weekday entries, passing up Lindbergh Center to become the third-busiest station, only behind the Airport and Five Points Stations.

Cox College was a private women's college located in College Park, Georgia that operated from 1842 to 1934. Cox College was originally called LaGrange Female Seminary in 1842 when it opened in LaGrange, Georgia. It changed names several times: to LaGrange Collegiate Seminary for Young Ladies in 1850, Southern and Western Female College in 1852, Southern Female College in 1854; and finally to Cox College by the 1890s. Part of the school moved to East Point, Georgia in the 1890s, however the main institution moved to Manchester, Georgia in 1895, which renamed itself College Park in 1896. By 1913 it was sometimes referred to as Cox College and Conservatory. It closed several times, including ten years between 1923 and 1933. It reopened one more time in 1933, but closed for a final time in 1934. Cox College’s closure effectively rendered the name of College Park a misnomer.

College Park High School was a high school in College Park, Georgia, United States. It closed in 1988 when it was combined with Woodland High School, Russell High School and Hapeville High School to form Tri-Cities High School. The campus of College Park High is now Frank McClarin Alternative High School. The name College Park was assigned to the nearby elementary school that was formerly Beavers-Thomas Elementary. Beavers-Thomas was consolidated with S.R. Young and George Longino to make College Park Elementary.

Airport is an elevated rail station and southern terminus on the Red and Gold lines of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) rail system, located at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport. It is served by the Gold Line at all times, while the Red Line generally serves it all day until 8:30 PM on weekdays and 8:50 PM on weekends when there is no scheduled track maintenance. It features one of only two Ridestores, the only other one being at Five Points. The upper level consists of an island platform between two tracks, while the mezzanine contains the fare gates inside the airport terminal. Since all trains are northbound from here, the island platform is set up such that the "southbound" side is for Doraville (Gold Line) trains and the "northbound" side is for North Springs (Red Line) trains. This is the second busiest railway station on the MARTA system, only surpassed by Five Points. This station provides access to the airport's North and South Terminals. Free transfer service is provided outside and across the street by the ATL Skytrain to the Georgia International Convention Center and the new Consolidated Rental Car Facility. The Airport station is located within the city limits of College Park and is the only station in Clayton County, while all others are in either Fulton or DeKalb counties.

Woodward Academy (also known as Woodward or WA) is a private, co-educational college-preparatory school for pre-kindergarten to 12th grade on two campuses located in College Park and Johns Creek, Georgia, United States, within the Atlanta metropolitan area.

East Point is a suburban city located southwest of Atlanta in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 38,358. The city name is derived from being at the opposite end of the former Atlanta & West Point Railroad from West Point.

The Flint River is a 344-mile-long (554 km) river in the U.S. state of Georgia. The river drains 8,460 square miles (21,900 km2) of western Georgia, flowing south from the upper Piedmont region south of Atlanta to the wetlands of the Gulf Coastal Plain in the southwestern corner of the state. Along with the Apalachicola and the Chattahoochee rivers, it forms part of the ACF basin. In its upper course through the red hills of the Piedmont, it is considered especially scenic, flowing unimpeded for over 200 miles (320 km). Historically, it was also called the Thronateeska River.

College Park is a city in Fulton and Clayton counties, Georgia, United States, adjacent to the southern boundary of the city of Atlanta. As of the 2020 census, the population was 13,930. Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport is partially located in the city's boundaries (including the domestic terminal, Concourse T, Concourse A, and about two-thirds of Concourse B), and the Georgia International Convention Center, owned and operated by the City of College Park, is within the city limits. The city is home to the fourth-largest urban historical district registered with the National Register of Historic Places in the state of Georgia. The city is also home to the Gateway Center Arena, home of the College Park Skyhawks and Atlanta Dream.

Atlanta Army Air Field is a former United States Army Air Corps training facility that operated on the grounds of the present Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport during World War II.

Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (IATA: ATL, ICAO: KATL, FAA LID: ATL), also known as Atlanta Hartsfield–Jackson International Airport, Atlanta Airport, Hartsfield, Hartsfield–Jackson and, formerly, as the Atlanta Municipal Airport, is the primary international airport serving Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The airport is located 10 mi (16 km) south of the Downtown Atlanta district. It is named after former Atlanta mayors William B. Hartsfield and Maynard Jackson. ATL covers 4,700 acres (1,900 ha) of land and has five parallel runways. Hartsfield-Jackson Airport has been the world's busiest airport by passenger traffic since 1998 (except for 2020 when the airport is number two), with over 93.6 million passengers (As of 2022). Hartsfield–Jackson is the primary hub of Delta Air Lines. With just over 1,000 flights a day to 225 domestic and international destinations, the Delta hub is the world's largest airline hub and is considered the first mega-hub in America. In addition to hosting Delta's corporate headquarters, Hartsfield–Jackson is also the home of Delta's Technical Operations Center, which is the airline's primary maintenance, repair and overhaul arm. Aside from Delta, Hartsfield-Jackson is also a focus city for low-cost carriers Frontier Airlines and Southwest Airlines. The airport has international service within North America and to Latin America, Europe, Africa, Middle East and East Asia.The airport is mostly in unincorporated areas of Clayton County, but it spills into the city limits of Atlanta, College Park, and Hapeville, in territory extending into Fulton County. The airport's domestic terminal is served by MARTA's Red and Gold rail lines.
