Wissinoming is a neighborhood in the Near Northeast section of Philadelphia. It was the site of locomotive builder Matthias Baldwin's estate "Wissinoming", which was located near Tacony and Van Kirk Streets. The current Wissinoming is bordered by Mayfair and Tacony on the north, Bridesburg on the south, I-95 and the Delaware River on the east, and Frankford on the west. Wissinoming has two zipcodes 19135 and 19124.Physical boundaries are: The south side of Robbins Street on the north, Cheltenham Avenue on the south, I-95 and the Delaware River on the east, and the east side of Frankford Avenue on the west. Its borders with Frankford and Bridesburg are often disputed, with some pushing the southern boundary further to either Sanger Street or Bridge Street. In addition, its northern border with Tacony is often disputed, with some claiming the border to be as far north as Magee Avenue to as far south as Devereaux Avenue.

Hamilton Disston Elementary School is a historic K-8 school located in the Tacony neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is part of the School District of Philadelphia. The building was designed by Irwin T. Catharine and built in 1923–1924. It is a three-story, nine-bay, brick building on a raised basement in the Colonial Revival style. It features a central projecting entrance pavilion, stone arched surrounds, and stone cornice and brick parapet. The school is named after Hamilton Disston. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Joe's Steaks + Soda Shop, formerly named Chink's Steaks, is a cheesesteak restaurant founded in 1949 in Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Controversy over the restaurant's former name led to the owner renaming it. A second restaurant location opened in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia in 2015. In addition to its cheesesteak sandwich specialty, the company sells other types of sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, sausages, and other foods.

Mary Disston School is a historic school building located in the Tacony neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1900–1901, and is a two-story, three-bay, "U"-shaped stone building in the Colonial Revival style. A rear addition was built in 1967. It features a recessed central entrance with columnaded porch, arched openings, and a balcony; a central Palladian window; and hipped roof.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. For a time the building was home to St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church.

Wissinoming was a SEPTA Regional Rail station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Located on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor, it was served by Trenton Line commuter trains. It was located off Comly Street in the neighborhood of Wissinoming. SEPTA discontinued service to Wissinoming on November 9, 2003, citing low ridership; 25 people were boarding at the station every day. SEPTA had previously attempted to close the station in 1994, but a strong response from the Wissinoming Civic Association won the station a reprieve.

The Tacony Music Hall is a historic building in the Tacony neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The three-story brick building was erected in 1885 by Frank W. Jordan, a local druggist and entrepreneur, as a multi-use facility, with retail shop space on the first floor, an auditorium on the second, and space for the Keystone Scientific and Literary Association (founded 1876, later called the Disston Library and Free Reading Room) on the third.P. T. Barnum and Susan B. Anthony lectured here. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. In March 2017 the building owners and operators began the process of opening a sex positive community center. Membership is limited to those over 18 years of age who may pay a membership or event fee and may sign a membership form or liability waiver. The second and third floors are used by this organization which is called Philly Music Hall LLC. They rejected the label of "sex club". Nevertheless, a spokesperson recognizes that "occasionally there will be people who have sex." Programming includes workshops, events, and community meetups to discuss and practice various forms of alternative sexuality. Participants are encouraged to practice active consent and safe sex, with failure to do so resulting in suspension or revocation of membership.The center permanently closed in August 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ethan Allen School is a K–8 school located in the Mayfair neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is a part of the School District of Philadelphia. The historic school building was designed by Irwin T. Catharine and built in 1929–1930. It is a three-story, eight-bay, yellow brick building in the Art Deco style. It features an arched entryway with terra cotta trim, terra cotta cornice, and brick parapet. It was named for patriot Ethan Allen. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.Students zoned to Ethan Allen are also zoned to Abraham Lincoln High School.

Frankford Stadium, also known as Yellow Jacket Field, was a football field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that was the home of the Frankford Yellow Jackets football team of the National Football League, which predated the Philadelphia Eagles. The stadium, located at Frankford Avenue & Devereaux Avenue, was the Yellow Jackets' home from 1923 through 1930. On July 27, 1931, a fire caused major damage to the structure, forcing the Yellow Jackets to play their remaining home games at the Baker Bowl and Municipal Stadium, before disbanding during the 1931 season. The site was purchased in 1933 by the Franklin Legion Athletic Association, who demolished the structure to build the Franklin Legion Athletic Field. When the Frankford Legion AA reorganized as the Northeast Philadelphia AA later that year, the stadium's name was changed to Yellow Trojan Field. As of 2017, a Dollar Tree store and rowhouses occupy the site.

Disston Saw Works was an American company owned by Henry Disston that manufactured handsaws during the mid-19th to early 20th century in the Tacony neighborhood of Philadelphia. The company was initially named Keystone Saw Works and then Henry Disston & Sons, Inc. Two successor companies are said to still exist, Disston Precision is still operational in Philadelphia, and Disston Tools in Chicopee, Massachusetts.

Tacony station is a SEPTA Regional Rail station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Located at Disston and Keystone Streets in the Tacony neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia, it serves the Trenton Line. It is 12.1 track miles (19.5 km) from Suburban Station. In 2004, this station saw 131 boardings on an average weekday. Amtrak does not stop at this station.

Tacony (Delaware: tèkhane) is a historic neighborhood in Northeast Philadelphia, about 8 miles (13 km) from downtown ("Center City") Philadelphia. It is bounded by the east side of Frankford Avenue on the northwest, the south side of Cottman Avenue on the northeast, the north side of Robbins Street on the southwest, and the Delaware River and Interstate 95 on the southeast. A substantial influx of German and German-American inhabitants helped to swell the population after 1855. About 18,000 people now live in Tacony.Although numerous neighborhood borders in Philadelphia are often disputed, because of when and how they developed, were populated, and founded, Tacony is one of the earliest villages along the Delaware River and further inland, in what was at one time a section of "Oxford Township," and would eventually become part of Philadelphia.
