Marianka (Hungarian: Máriavölgy) is a village and municipality in western Slovakia in Malacky District in the Bratislava region, in the foothills of the Little Carpathians. The village is the oldest pilgrimage site in Slovakia and the first pilgrimage site dedicated to Virgin Mary in the area of former Hungarian Kingdom. It used to be as famous as the well known Mariazell in Austria and the Polish pilgrimage place Częstochowa. The communist regime between years 1948-1989 suppressed all religious activity and the village as a pilgrimage site was planned for demise, however the village survived.

Bratislava IV (Slovak: okres Bratislava IV; Hungarian: Pozsonyi IV. járás) is an okres (district) of Bratislava in the Bratislava Region of Slovakia. It is the largest Bratislava district and covers the north-western parts of Bratislava, including the boroughs of Devín, Devínska Nová Ves, Dúbravka, Karlova Ves, Lamač and Záhorská Bystrica. It is bordered by the Morava River in the west (which also forms the border with Austria), Malacky District in the north, the Pezinok and Bratislava III districts in the east, Bratislava I district in the south-east, by a short part of Bratislava V district in the south and again by Austria along the Danube river.

Borinka (Hungarian: Pozsonyborostyánkő) is a village and municipality in western Slovakia in Malacky District in the Bratislava Region, at the foothills of the Little Carpathians, best known for the Pajštún Castle, and has many weekend homes (Slovak: chata). Dračí hrádok are another castle ruins located in its vicinity. The village is around 5 km east of Stupava and around 15 km north of Bratislava.

Pod Pajštúnom is a nature reserve in the Slovak municipalities of Stupava and Borinka in the Malacky District. The nature reserve covers an area of 141 hectares (350 acres) of forests in the Little Carpathians. It has a protection level of 5 under the Slovak nature protection system. The nature reserve is part of the Little Carpathians Protected Landscape Area.

Pajštún Castle or Pajštún (Slovak: Pajštúnsky hrad, German: Peilenstein) is a ruined medieval castle in the municipality of Borinka in the Bratislava region of Slovakia. It is located on the western edge of the Little Carpathians at an altitude of 486 m. Because of its proximity to Bratislava, the castle is a popular hiking destination for the city's inhabitants.

Devín Carpathians (Slovak: Devínske Karpaty, pronounced [ˈɟeʋiːnske ˈkarpati]) is a subdivision of the Little Carpathians mountain range, located entirely within Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. It is bordered by the city boroughs of Devín from the west, Devínska Nová Ves from the north, Dúbravka from the east and Karlova Ves from the south. Its highest mountain is Devínska Kobyla at 514 m (1,686 ft) AMSL, it is also the highest point in Bratislava. The hills are mostly forested with deciduous trees and most of the area is protected by numerous nature reserves, including two geologically important areas: Sandberg containing sands and sandstones from the Cenozoic Paratethys ocean and Jezuitské Lesy containing rare granitic pegmatite bearing niobium-tantalum oxide minerals.Devín Carpathians are famous for its castles, most notably the Bratislava Castle and the ruins of Devín Castle. The mountains feature numerous cultural monuments, caves, tramping huts, an open-air geology museum and a chemical waste dump. Military structures in the mountains include an abandoned rocket base and preserved artillery fortifications from the time of Austria-Hungary. Featuring a dense network of forest trails, Devín Carpathians together with Bratislava Forest Park are frequented by citizens of the city and provide their main venue for hiking, mountain cycling, cross-country skiing and dog walking.

Stupava (German: Stampfen; Hungarian: Stomfa) is a town in western Slovakia. It is situated in the Malacky District, Bratislava Region.

Dračí hrádok (literally Dragon fort or Dragon castle in English) are the ruins of a castle located in the southernmost part of the Little Carpathians, less than 2 km southeast of Borinka in the Bratislava region, Slovakia. The castle was built in the 13th century on a hill above the valley of the Stupava stream at an altitude of about 370 m above sea level.Along with other castle ruins in the region, such as Biely Kameň and Pajštún Castle, Dračí hrádok is a hiking destination near the country's capital, Bratislava.

Bratislavský lesný park or Bratislava Forest Park is a forest park (actually a forest) in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, located in the foothills of the Little Carpathians. Officially, it is part of numerous boroughs of Bratislava: Dúbravka, Karlova Ves, Záhorská Bystrica, Vinohrady, Old Town, New Town and Rača. The park is administered by Mestské lesy v Bratislave (Bratislava City Forests), a specialized non-profit organization (Slovak: samostatne hospodáriaca príspevková organizácia hlavného mesta SR Bratislavy). It covers an area of 27.3 km² (10.54 mi²), of which 96% is covered with forests; the rest consists of meadows, water and built-up areas. The Vydrica river originates in the park's territory. With its dense network of hiking trails, roads and recreational facilities, Bratislava Forest Park includes many localities popular among visitors, such as Železná studienka (Little iron well), Partizánska lúka (Partisan meadow), Koliba and the Kamzík TV Tower. Two-thirds of visitors enter the Bratislava Forest Park through the Červený most area near Patrónka, a major transport junction in the city. The park is served by the Železná studienka Bratislava train station, the public city transport and parking is provided for up to 150 vehicles.

The Battle of Blumenau or Battle of Lamač was the last battle fought in the Austro-Prussian War, on 22 July 1866 (on the day of the conclusion of peace), with the Austrians defending against the Prussian army.

Bratislava Lamač railway station (Hungarian: Pozsony-Lamacs vasútállomás, Slovak: Železničná stanica Bratislava-Lamač, Czech: Železniční stanice Bratislava-Lamač) is a small railway station (technically a train halt) inside the Lamač borough of Bratislava, Slovakia. Until 1947 the station was called "Lamač". The railway station is administered under Bratislava main railway station, with the station master (Slovak: prednosta) residing there as well. It lies at the edge of the Lamač and Dúbravka boroughs of Bratislava. Bratislava Lamač railway station is the smallest true railway station in Bratislava. It contains four tracks of rails allowing the trains to cross tracks or the express trains to overtake slower passenger or freight trains. The station building was reconstructed in 2007.

Strmina is a nature reserve in the Slovak municipalities of Stupava and Borinka in the Malacky District. The nature reserve covers an area of 196 hectares (480 acres) of forests in the Little Carpathians. It has a protection level of 5 under the Slovak nature protection system. The nature reserve is part of the Little Carpathians Protected Landscape Area.
