Göteborg Landvetter Airport (IATA: GOT, ICAO: ESGG) is an international airport serving the Gothenburg (Swedish: Göteborg) region in Sweden. With just over 6.8 million passengers in 2018 it is Sweden's second-largest airport after Stockholm–Arlanda. Landvetter is also an important freight airport. During 2007, 60.1 thousand tonnes of air cargo passed through Landvetter, about 60% of the capacity of Arlanda. The airport is named after Landvetter locality, which is in Härryda municipality. It is 11 NM (20 km; 13 mi) east-southeast of Gothenburg and 40 km (25 mi) west of Borås. It is operated by Swedavia, the national airport company. Since the closure of Göteborg City Airport for commercial operations, it's the city's only commercial passenger airport.

Härryda (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈhæ̂ˌrːyːda]) is a locality situated in Härryda Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 968 inhabitants in 2010. Despite its name it is not the seat of the municipality, which is the much larger Mölnlycke. Härryda is the closest locality from the Göteborg Landvetter Airport, three kilometers (2 miles) from the terminal building. It is located right under the flight path, so there is a high noise level. Many residents work at the airport and are therefore more forgiving against airplane noise.

The battle of Landvetter occurred on 27 May 1645 during the Torstenson War between Denmark and Sweden. On 25 May, a Danish force led by Iver Krabbe crossed the Viskan, with the objective of marching to Bohus. Upon crossing, following information of the Swedes concentrating forces in Scania, and a significant Dutch fleet heading to Scania, the infantry in the detachment was sent to Varberg while Krabbe and the cavalry continued toward Bohus. At Landvetter, he was halted by Swedish forces led by Harald Stake, who defeated Krabbe and forced him to retreat into Halland.

Landvetter is a locality situated in Härryda Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 7,152 inhabitants in 2010.It is the second largest town in the municipality and has given its name to the international airport Göteborg Landvetter Airport, located 5 km east of Landvetter. The name Landvetter is a combination of "land" (land) and "vittir", an old Swedish name for a certain type of fire. City Airline had its head office in the Air Cargo Building on the grounds of Göteborg Landvetter Airport in Landvetter. When Transwede Airways existed, its head office was on the airport property.
