Wurstelprater

The Prater (German pronunciation: [ˈpraːtɐ] (listen)) is a large public park in Leopoldstadt, Vienna, Austria. The Wurstelprater, an amusement park that is often simply called "Prater", lies in one corner of the Wiener Prater and includes the Wiener Riesenrad Ferris wheel.

The Wiener Riesenrad (German: [ˈviːnɐ ˈʁiːzn̩ˌʁaːd]; 'Vienna Giant [Ferris] Wheel'), or simply Riesenrad, is a 64.75-metre (212 ft) tall Ferris wheel at the entrance of the Prater amusement park in Leopoldstadt, the 2nd district of Austria's capital Vienna. It is one of Vienna's most popular tourist attractions, and symbolises the district as well as the city for many people. Constructed in 1897, it was the world's tallest extant Ferris wheel from 1920 until 1985.

The Republic of Kugelmugel is an unrecognized micronation located at the Prater in Vienna, Austria. The Republic declared independence in 1975, after disputes between artist Edwin Lipburger and Austrian authorities over building permits for a ball-shaped house which he erected at the Landesstraße 4091 in Katzelsdorf, Lower Austria in 1971. In 1979, Lipburger was arrested and sent to jail for ten weeks. In June 1982, the house was moved into the Prater park, near the Hauptallee, and enclosed by eight-foot-tall barbed-wire fences. The house has the only address within the proclaimed Republic, that being "2., Antifaschismusplatz" ("2nd district of Vienna; Anti-Fascism Square"), which has since been officially adopted by the city of Vienna. Lipburger died in January 2015, but the Republic officially holds a population of over 650 non-resident citizens. Nowadays, the Republic is administered by Vienna's government and used as a tourist attraction. The word "Kugel" means "ball" or "sphere" in German; the word "Mugel" is an Austrian German expression for "bump" or "hill" on a field like and also the root for the name of mogul skiing.

Madame Tussauds Vienna is a wax museum and tourist attraction located at the famous amusement park Wiener Prater in Vienna, Austria. It was founded by Marie Tussaud and is the eleventh location for the Tussauds franchise. It officially opened on 1 April 2011 by the former Austrian president Heinz Fischer. So far, it features more than 80 figures on three floors. Madame Tussauds is now owned and operated by the United Kingdom-based entertainment company Merlin Entertainments.

Praterstern is a station on U1 and U2 of the Vienna U-Bahn. Above the U-Bahn station is the Wien Praterstern railway station, which is served by regional trains, and by lines S1, S2, S3 and S7 of the Vienna S-Bahn. Both stations are located in the Leopoldstadt District. The U-Bahn station opened in 1981.

Wien Praterstern (German for Vienna Praterstern) is one of Vienna's main railway stations, used by 35,000 people daily. It is located on the roundabout Praterstern in Leopoldstadt, in the north of the city. Vienna's two most recognisable structures, the Wiener Riesenrad (Ferris wheel) and the Stephansdom (cathedral), are both visible from the platforms. Underneath the station is the Praterstern U-Bahn station, which is on U1 and U2 of the Vienna U-Bahn.

Wiener Looping is a steel roller coaster at Wurstelprater (located within Wiener Prater) in Leopoldstadt, Vienna, Austria. Built by Mack Rides, the coaster will span multiple sections of the amusement park and be one of its few attractions operated by owner Stefan Sittler-Koidl. Wiener Looping was first announced in 2021 but was marred by several construction setbacks, most notably the unauthorized demolition of a nightclub and its associated legal injunction. The coaster is planned to open in September 2024.

48°12′39.3″N 16°23′36.2″E The KunstHausWien is a museum in Vienna, designed by the artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. This museum in the Landstraße district houses the world's only permanent exhibition of Hundertwasser's works, and also hosts regular temporary exhibitions of other artists. The KunstHausWien operates as a private business and does not receive any government aid. In 2009 the KunstHausWien received 174,000 visitors.

The Schweizerhaus (literally "Swiss house") is a Viennese restaurant, rich in tradition, that is inseparably linked with the Prater, a large public area and park in Leopoldstadt, the second district of Vienna, Austria's capital.

The Austria Classic Hotel Wien is a three-star hotel, on Praterstraße in Vienna's second district, the Leopoldstadt. It is a member of the Austria Classic Hotels group and was named 'Hotel Nordbahn' until a rebranding in January 2008.

Danube International School Vienna (DISV) is a private international school in Vienna, Austria. located in the Second District, between the Donaukanal and the Prater. The school is privately owned and managed, but is accredited by the Austrian Government, is evaluated by the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO).

The Museum of Art Fakes (German: Fälschermuseum) is a museum of faked and forged artworks that opened in Vienna, Austria in 2005. This small, privately run museum in the Landstraße district is the only one of its kind in the German-speaking world.The exhibits include works by the renowned Vermeer-forger Han van Meegeren and the British art restorer Tom Keating, who claimed to have faked over 2,000 works by more than 100 different artists and deliberately inserted "time bombs" and anachronisms into his paintings. Also on display are items produced by Konrad Kujau, creator of the fake Hitler Diaries, as well as works by David Stein, Elmyr de Hory, Eric Hebborn and Lothar Malskat. In addition, the museum presents information on the history of the most famous forgeries, and the sometimes very dramatic fates of their creators.
